Reviews of local pros in Downingtown, Pennsylvania

I had drainage issues in my backyard. Charlie designed and installed a beautiful rock drainage bed that has eliminated my water issues and it looks great. He was very responsive and the team was great and took care to reduce impact to the yard and rest of the landscaping

Charlie and Linda were fantastic! They did a beautiful job with our back patio. Reasonably priced, even with the distance involved! Very good communication too. I would highly recommend!

We wanted a 16 foot patch spruced up in front of our place. We found Charles McGlinn after searching locally. Several friends had written recommendations too. Charles and Linda met with us and we discussed what we wanted and they offered suggestions. A few weeks later the patch is beautifully landscaped. We also got good information about the plants and bushes put in. Charles and his workers were professionals checking on the right spacing of the plants, edging the patch when done, watering and sweeping the walkway. We are very happy with the work!

Charlie and his wonderful crew just completed a new patio for me. The patio is far better than I expected with beautiful craftmanship and detail. I used Charlie for my front walk 8 years ago and it still looks great. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Charlie and his staff to anyone.

Charles and crew were great! We needed a retaining wall by our pool to stop mud/rain water from filling it in. Charles came out and took his time and had the best quote from three others I had come by. Wall looks beautiful and matches our other wall not only make but the paver pattern. Would highly recommend them for stone work/retaining walls.

This company went above and beyond. Charlie's knowledge and skills are incredible as he turned my dream backyard into an oasis and Linda was so easy and awesome to work with. She was always in constant communication and always answered any questions or concerns I had, right away! Highly recommend!

Charlie and his team just finished replacing our concrete pool decking with a beautiful natural flagstone product. They were hardworking, diligent, clearly paid attention to detail, and worked to do things "the right way"...no short cuts. Charlie kept us informed of progress and offered good advice for resoving issues. All in all a great experience.

Charlie and Linda were awesome to work with!! They delivered exactly what we had in mind and were very attentive to our questions. We had a water drainage problem on the side of our hill and they worked hard to resolve it. We love our new lawn installation and the beautiful flowers, bushes and landscaping! They took extra time to review the layouts, watering plans and follow up with us and remain available for questions. We love how our yard turned out and would recommend them to anyone!!!

Fantastic
I spoke with Linda and she was very helpful. She and Charlie came out for an estimate which was very fair. Communication was outstanding. Charlie made some suggestions which made our project far better than it would have been. He came out with his crew when promised and knocked our project out on time and on budget. I couldn’t have asked for anything more. A great experience and just wonderful people to work with. I highly recommend Charles McGlinn landscaping.

Charlie has done three jobs for us so far, and we keep coming back because he does great work! Beyond that, he has given the best price, and has always been the best to work with. He is very personable. Very professional. Customer service is always on his mind when working a job. Working with him and Linda is always a great experience. Planning, ideas, how to maintain the project afterwards, they cover everything, and the job isn't done until the customer is satisfied. And we always are. Will definitely use him again!

Had a retaining wall repaired that was not installed correctly initially, causing it to fall. So pleased with the work provided by Mcglinn Landscaping! Corrected issues in a timely manner and guaranteed their work. So happy we chose them for the project.

Charlie and the team did a great job with a project late last year. Charlie’s experience and insights were very helpful in determining the appropriate solutions and the attention to detail was top notch! Would absolutely hire the team for another project !

Charles and Linda and their crew are great people. If you are looking for knowledgeable and professional work, they are the best. They are true experts in concrete masonry, landscaping and foundation work. Their pricing is reasonable and fair.

We’ve had several projects done by Charles McGlinn during the last 2 years. They include hardscaping, tree removal and large bed installation involving trees and shrubs. We are very pleased with the work completed. Their crew is professional, hardworking and friendly. Tree and shrub installation is expertly done to optimize plant health. Charles and Linda go the extra mile to work with you to ensure you get exactly the plants and results you want.

I had McGlinn Landscaping install polymeric sand on my front walkway. They did an excellent job preparing the walkway for the sand and installing the sand. I could not have been happier with the results. I would highly recommend Landscaping By Charles McGlinn, Inc.

Charlie and Linda have been fabulous to work with.
Our job wasn't a large job, and other landscaping contractors would not even respond because of the size of our request. They not only were awesome to work with but excellent in communicating the progress of the job.
I would highly recommend them, and will be contacting them again in the future

We’ve worked with Charlie on a few projects over the years. He has fair pricing and communicates everything about the job. He is on site for projects and makes sure you’re satisfied.
We had 10 trees installed recently and he was very patient as we decided on placement, as it was not easy!!
Charlie has also helped us in emergency situations, where storms have taken out trees on our property. He’s responsive and we recommend him and his team for all your landscaping needs!!

Charles and Linda recently built us a paver patio, concrete steps, and custom fabricated aluminum railing to replace an old deck we had in the back of the house. Although Charles recommended flagstone, we opted for pavers to reduce the overall cost, given the size of the patio.

Throughout the entire process, they were nothing but friendly, communicative, and professional. Charles worked with me to establish a design and his crew worked over the course of a few weeks to put it all together. They properly graded and reseeded the portions of the lawn that were affected by the work. Any issues that came up were resolved quickly and without headache. We are thrilled with their work and would be pleased to recommend them to anyone!

Charlie and his crew did amazing work this summer to transform an existing courtyard prayer garden at a private school into a labyrinth constructed of brick and stone. A considerable amount of manual excavation of both dirt and stone was required due to limited access by heavy machinery. Some existing concrete under the foundation was broken and removed. Perennial plants were planted or transplanted and watered with care. Charlie's precision with a level is unmatched. Efficient time management was critical to accommodate a tight timeframe to project completion. Flexibility, and fastidious attention to detail at every facet of the installation has resulted in a beautiful, permeable labyrinth which has become a new focal point on campus for students, staff and visitors.

Charlie McGlinn has worked at my house on two different projects: Building a drainage swale to reroute stormwater, and regrading and reconstructing my old patio with a new stone wall and improved drainage. Charlie is the most responsive contractor I’ve used and he does go the extra mile to make the customer happy. I highly recommend him.

We have worked with Charles & Linda on many projects over the years. They are honest, fair and kind people. We recently had them remodel our pool patio. They completely transformed the area using flagstone, and the quality of their work is exceptional. I highly recommend working with them for landscaping projects as well.
