Had some trees staked in rear yard, but done very poorly. Repeatedly asked for someone to come fix them. Company says that people were out to look at them, but still not done to my satisfaction.
They also conveniently came out to "look" at them when no one was home as well as not show up for a scheduled appointment . Specific dates and times were requested, but couldn't be provided. Person who I spoke with who handles billing and also is the manager was rude and condescending. Stakes were asked to be removed, but they said they wouldn't do that claiming I wanted the work done for free which wouldn't make sense since I was asking for the stakes to be removed. Would never do business with this company again! Beware of poor service!

Asked for ivy removal and it was out and gone in no time! Couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome. Would recommend

Great job on trimming trees at my home. They came with the right machinery, stayed all day and asked our input on how much we wanted trimmed from each tree. Would not hesitate to use them again!

I called mcilvaine tree service to cut down a tree at my curbside. My call was answered by a receptionist instead of voicemail. I was told that someone would be out to give an estimate before the end of the week. The next day Joe Mcilvaine came to give me a very fair estimate and also obtained the necessary city permit to remove the tree. The crew arrived on the scheduled removal day and quickly and efficiently removed the tree and all debris. I was told that they would return later that week to grind the stump. The crew did not return that week due to an unexpected snow storm but I received a courtesy call from the office to say that they did not forget me and would be out before the following week. They returned that same week (the day after Thanksgiving) to grind the stump. I was pleased with their work and the cleanup they performed. I am totally satisfied with all the work and communication from this company and would not hesitate to hire them again or refer them to others.

Today I had 2 trees trimmed down. The guys were so courteous and VERY NICE and Proffesional. I used this tree service now 3 different times in different years and always the owner Joe comes out and gives me a very fair price . I will ALWAYS use them to cut my trees and will keep on referring them to all my friends and family .

Had three bradford pear trees trimmed and a thirty foot evergreen cut down. The gentlemen showed up on time, they were courteous and very understanding to my wishes. They proceeded in doing a great job and the trees look great. They did an unbelievable job cleaning up and far exceeded my expectations. I would definitely recommend the service of Joseph McIlvaine Tree & Lawn service and will call them again when needing additional work.

Awesome family run business. They came out right away when I needed help with a fallen tree. Very fair prices and the guys who did the job were super friendly.

We had a tall, mature Maple tree in our front yard and the branches were dying and snapping off. Because of concern of falling branches onto our house and causing damage to neighbors cars parked out on our street, we called McIvaine Tree Service from an ad in the Clipper Magazine. The same day I called, an estimate was in my e-mail and the day after they were here and cut down the tree and removed everything. Grinding of the stump was done shortly after that day and they removed the grinding a few days after that! Tomorrow they are coming to plant a 15’ Autumn Red Maple tree that I just ordered through them today! Laurie took care of all scheduling, etc. and when she followed up with a call to tell me the new desired tree was available and planting would be tomorrow, I told her she was an asset to the company. I sincerely would recommend McIlvaine Tree Service to everyone!

Initial call for estimate request made last week of June 2020, which was caused by June 3rd storm. Got estimate few days later and setup appointment for first week of August 2020. Did not mind the long wait due to positive reviews here. A day before the appointment, they called and had to cancel due to emergencies from storms yesterday. Did not agree with this as we waited, in queue, for 6 weeks, only to be canceled a day before the appointment. I understand emergencies, but our appointment was caused by weather damage too, and waited patiently for 6 weeks to have our tree taken care of, which may cause more issue and possible damage on my neighbors if storms hits us again. When asked on next schedule, they will give me a call again once they have a schedule. This is very unprofessional, especially treating a new customer, who was willing to wait this long, only to be cancelled on the last minute. Would not recommend this business due to their unprofessional work practices.

For some reason they had to come out 3 times for a quote on the same work. I received a quote for several things to be done. Ironically, a storm decided to take down a tree for us and we did the clean up. They came out again, it was less work and this was quote was double! I asked for an explanation and the receptionist basically blew me off. I explained my tree that was to be thinned didn’t change and grow 50 feet within a month. I asked for a return call from someone who could actually explain why it was so much more than the original quote with much more work. No return call. Very poor business practice to say the least and I had actually referred this company. You just lost business. Get your work ethic in check.

Wonderful job at a great price taking down 3 trees on our property. Job completed without any issues in a professional manner, and the worksite was clean when they left. Highly recommended! We especially appreciated Orlando's skills operating the bucket, and Bob & Cary's (and the others') friendliness & work ethic.

Every piece of this project was flawless and professional, from the timely and professional estimate to the guys who did an amazing job to the follow up. I would highly recommend Joe and his team. I had been introduced to them by a friend and I’m glad I used them!

Got some trees removed and trimmed and the crews did an amazing job! Their crews work great together and were all so nice. The girls in the office are so sweet to talk to and quickly get back to you with questions. Overall AWESOME experience and would use them a million more times!

McIlvaine did an amazing job on our tree trimming and removal! When an unexpected delay hit, they were great about communicating and hustled to complete the work in a very quick manner. I was very pleased with their level of communication and with the wonderful job they did in a timely manner. Would definitely use them again and recommend them to friends!

I can’t recommend McIlvaine Tree service highly enough. I’ve had them do work on my acre and a half yard several times. I have a lot of gardens and am very particular about them. Felix and his crew took down two dead 80 foot pine trees literally less than 20 feet from a large rhododendron and a very large magnolia. Not one leaf on either was damaged. The crew also removed some branches from several black walnut trees. When they got done there was no turf damage and I could not find one leaf or twig. I had a hard time finding sawdust! However the best part of their service is their workers. They are all gentlemen. Very polite, friendly, neat, and clean. No cigarette butts or trash left and no yelling or foul language like I can hear from other tree service workers in my neighborhood. You will not be disappointed with Joe McIvaine’s Tree Service.

I gathered three quotes to have work done in my tree. Of the three they had the best customer service and most competitive pricing. Very easy to work with. Josephine was delightful scheduling and the follow up. They exceed expectations. Found my tree company moving forward!

Joe McIlvaine’s Tree Service took down multiple large trees and grinded all the stumps on my property. The crew cleaned up very well, you wouldn’t even be able to tell they even there! The staff are very professional, polite and knowledgeable. Their prices are very reasonable also. I highly recommend them for any types of tree services you need !!

I worked with a number oh McIlvaine team members and every one of them was responsive, respectful and professional including Laurie at the office. I had a LARGE pin oak removed from my back yard that was close to our shed and pool equipment. Made me nervous just watching them but they managed to take that tree down without damage to shed and pool equipment. After the removal, they returned days later to grind the stump and remove the debris. Some damage was done to a paver path but they sent their hard scape team out to repair that damage. I am very satisfied with this team and recommend them. I will use again as I have in the past when any tree services are required. I would like to thank them all again.

Excellent tree service! ! A 200-year old American Beech that was diseased had to go; The crew arrived and completed the work exactly as scheduled! This involved a crane and many moving parts. Our property looked immaculate when they were done. AND the price was very competitive.

The Price they Charged has the working man in mind. I had a MONSTER of a tree in my Back Yard.
These guys came over and made my tree SAFE for my and kids to play out back.
They left the yard like they were never here. Professional, Effective, Highly Recommended
