Joe arrived on time, entertained me with tales of traditional deep South Philly, where up means down (south) and down means up (north) -- or maybe vice versa? -- and educated me unsurprisingly on mold (you can't just buy the machine that tests for it, for example, you need certification). And he taught me something I will never forget about footwear (won't share this important and memorable lesson here, however). Generally, a pleasant, efficient process to ensure that some roof leak damage hadn't developed into something nasty/pathological. He called to discuss the results he shared via email a few days after the testing and explained everything clearly. Fully confident in his expertise -- and will call again without hesitation if it comes down to it.

Joe and his team are top notch! Joe patiently explained the issues, details, etc. and essentially held our hand through the process. His Team did a great job of remediation and took great care of our stuff. Joe also followed through with some after job help that we needed. It's like having a new basement. These guys have 5 stars for a reason. We had an issue with bathroom mold that needed to be treated and I had to cancel after setting a date. Joe was understanding, communicative, and helpful along the way. Once we rescheduled, the team was full of professionals that diligently remediated the affected area and cleaned up everything nicer than when they first arrived. I highly recommend them to anyone and everyone.

I recently purchased by first home and discovered there was mold in the crawl space. I closed on this home Friday of one week and had roommates moving in the very next Thursday. Joe, the owner of MSI, came out on Saturday, gave me a quote, and MSI was able to start on that Monday and get the job done in time! Joe is an amazing person that carries himself in a very disciplined and professional way, and he stands behind his company's work! The crew was equally as amazing and professional. Very kind, respectful, and a thorough job done top to bottom. After the job was completed, Joe was kind enough to explain to me how to set up my dehumidifier in my crawl space so the mold has a snowball's chance in hell of coming back. I can’t say enough good things about MSI and especially Joe, the owner. From the very first phone call, he was incredibly kind and understanding of my anxiety about having mold in our home with an 8-month-old baby. I reached out with a lot of questions (probably more than most!) and Joe was always patient and never made me feel like I was bothering him.

They were able to start the remediation within a week of contacting them, which gave us huge peace of mind. The team was professional, respectful of our home, and explained what they were doing each step of the way. Knowing our baby’s health and safety were a priority to them made such a difference.

Should we need further remediation, we will definitely continue using them. I’m so grateful we found MSI and would recommend them to anyone who needs mold remediation.

We required the services of this company due to a kitchen fire in our home. The representatives we encountered from start to finish were extremely professional, very helpful and very understanding. I would highly recommend their services to anyone.

We had a kitchen fire in December which left behind much smoke and soot throughout my house. Power Equipment came out and did a walk through and returned over the next 2.5 days and setting up each morning and breaking down each night. Every piece of equipment opened, tested and meticulously cleaned prior to being wrapped in plastic to avoid further damage from particles that were still in the air. Wonderful people to deal with and trustworthy!

We had a fire incident in December 2024, and Power Equipment Restoration, LLC was incredible from start to finish. Their team came out right away, gathered every single item, took detailed photos, tagged everything, and created a full inventory list. Whenever we needed something during the restoration process, they brought it back to us promptly.

At the end, they returned all our belongings wrapped carefully in plastic or bubble wrap. Every item was tagged and checked off with both their checklist and ours to make sure nothing was missed. The team even cleaned some of our appliances on-site, which we really appreciated.

Everyone on the team was helpful, kind, and professional. Their communication was excellent, and they even kept notes from previous conversations so they could stay organized when returning items. That level of detail and organization truly stood out.

Highly recommend their services — they made a very stressful situation so much easier for us.

I tried calling for some floor work I wanted done. As soon as he answer he came off rude I tried explaining the reason for my call and asked about prices, eventually he hung up. I don't know if he was having a bad day or what was up but there's no excuse for you to be rude to a customer. I would NEVER recommend his services to anyone. Terrible experience...

Gen Carp is a reputable contractor that actually does as says, as says as it does, very rare now a days and the owner Joe is a Stand up Guy.
Also rare in this day in age of fly by night contractors with a sticker on the side of their truck

From my perspective as a landlord, I can't think of one negative aspect in working with GenCarp. In addition to the quality of the work, being honest and having integrity are extremely important to me, and GenCarp exceeded my expectations. Great prices as well! This is not a fake review, these guys are legit.

Joe was very professional and kind. He came quickly, realizing our only shower/tub was out of commission and completed the job with ease and quickly.He is clearly very skilled at his craft, very professional, and a kind person who will put you at ease.

Made an appointment in back in July for a renovation quote. The gentleman showed up about 30 minutes late but no big deal. Showed him my scope and was told I would get an estimate in a week. Never heard from them again, tried calling no response.

Fast forward September I’m still looking for a contractor and my wife convinced me to give these guys another shot. Made a Tuesday appointment in September for 9am. No one showed up, called twice and no one answered.

Do yourself a favor and avoid these guys at all costs. I would never trust this kind of unprofessionalism with such important work.
