Really should be zero stars. They are crooks. Replaced a defective part on my dryer with a USED part, charged me for a new one. In addition to this con, they dropped a pair of large pliers on a hardwood floor putting a dent in it and got grease and dirt all over everything in the washroom including an expensive dress. The repair lasted less than a week b/f the problem started again. Called another appliance repair company that was aghast at the blatant rip-off and charges. They replaced the part with a NEW part, charged me half what Dave's did and it has been working fine ever since. I called Dave's several times to complain and was given a well rehearsed run around each time. They took my information each time but never returned any of my calls. Don't ever get involved with this disreputable business.

Two weeks ago, our Samsung dryer had an error code. After attempting the basic troubleshooting of unplugging and re-plugging, we decided to get help from a professional. My husband found Dave’s Appliance Repair on Facebook; we are true advocates for supporting small-medium businesses, especially ones in the Montco area, so we decided to use their expertise. An appointment was set two days after the initial call. We were informed that to diagnose the problem the price would be $104. We had no uncertainties; we just wanted the dryer fixed. When the workers came in our home, they quickly jumped on the issue; before their diagnostic tool was completed, it was pulled and Ricki said “Okay I know what’s wrong, and we’ll be able to fix it tomorrow morning when we get the parts.” That same day, we were charged $406.00. The service workers came back the following morning and attempted repair the dryer, and it was insufficient. They said they had to return the following day with another part. Next morning, service guy arrived, and said that the dryer was not operational because of another issue, but it couldn’t be fixed until the following morning. My husband spoke with management at the business, and got the service call rescheduled same day that afternoon. The service worker came out attempted to repair…he came upstairs and told us that it was not fixable and we should just get another dryer. The situation was very disconcerting as we thought we’d be able to dry clothes ASAP. He said the money would be refunded minus the initial service visit.
A check was brought to our house…for $200.00. We questioned it because, one; we felt like we shouldn’t have paid for the initial service charge (definitely one-sided on our part, which we later understood, and they did come out to run a diagnostic, so for that we recanted to aggressively request the refund of $104 for the first visit). My husband and I called the office to dispute the missing $100. The manager, Jolie, said that was for the vent cleaning/replacement. We told her that we weren’t informed of the vent cleaning/replacement, and we were under the impression all services done was a part of the service repair; we’re novices! She said Ricki would call us. He did. We also told him we didn’t agree to the vent cleaning/replacement. We were told the service repair was just that, repairing the issue for resolution, however they saw fit. He then became very belligerent over the phone, starting cursing at us and said “You’re beat out of that money”. Now, my husband and I share a few degrees and certs between us, however; we know the what “beat” means with any financial transaction. I then called to speak with management about our interaction with Ricki, but the manager was “not in the office yet”. I left my name and number for her twice…still didn’t get a call back.
The next day, I ordered a new dryer from Lowes; included in the price was a vent cleaning/replacement. I explained to Lowe’s that we had it replaced a couple of days ago. They said “Doesn’t matter, we have to use our own…didn’t the repair company explain that to you” ….NO, they did not.
It was poignant to experience the lack of professionalism we have with Dave’s Appliance Repair. We were misinformed, we were overcharged and we blatantly and verbally disrespected. I do not recommend this business. I will not give them any more business. I should have read the reviews outside of Facebook. Do not give this company your dollars!

We were pleased with the service we received from Dave’s on our Samsung refrigerator. Dave’s tech Britany, very lovely. Britney arrived on time and took apart the fridge pretty quickly. Once the problem was diagnosed, we were pleased to hear Britney had the right part on her truck. I would say the total service time was about an hour. Britney was charming and professional.

The only complaint I have is that it was a bit pricey at $339 for roughly a thirty-dollar part plus labor. In the end, our refrigerator is fixed, I have no idea how to service refrigerators, so we are all paying for Dave’s technician's knowledge. If we had another appliance issue, I would most likely use Dave’s appliance repair again.

As a footnote, I think if you started comparing prices if you indeed knew what was wrong with your appliance and the parts needed, labor prices from Sears, Best Buy, Daves, and others would all be within a hundred bucks of what we were charged give or take.

This place is a rip off and they are incompetent. I would recommend staying far away from them. I wish I had read the reviews before using them because it looks like numerous people have had an almost identical experience. Initially, I had them repair my dishwasher. They replaced the control panel which was more than $300. Then, the dishwasher broke a couple of months later and they wanted to do the same thing again. We decided to replace the dishwasher. When they installed the new dishwasher they forgot to connect the drain so that when I ran it, it flooded my kitchen. Just beyond the warranty, the new dishwasher was malfunctioning and not drying the dishes. They came out and said it was a control panel issue. They replaced the control panel on the newer dishwasher for another $300+ and it didn't fix the problem. They then claimed it was another part that they needed. In the meantime, they forgot to hook the dishwasher back up to the drain again, and the kitchen had water all over the floor. Then, they were rude an ignorant when I called to confirm that it was hooked up properly. Just for icing on the cake, they said that the technician told us not to use it. That was an outright lie because we asked the question specifically about using it while we waited for the new part. This place can't be trusted and they were unapologetic and rude to a longtime customer. I will never use them again and strongly suggest you also consider staying away.

We called Dave's regarding our dryer that would not start. They scheduled an appt. for the next afternoon and asked for a credit card # in advance for the service call (approx $103.00 incl tax)
That same evening we did some investigating on our own and found a tripped circuit breaker that alleviated the malfunction.
When we notified them that it was fixed they refunded our $$ the next AM without a problem.
We wouldn't hesitate to call them again in the future!

ABSOLUTE DISCRACE! I called Dave's for a dryer vent cleaning and was told I had to pay 140$ deposit for someone to come out JUST to look where the vent was located. I was told whatever the cost was would be subtracted from the deposit. 2 men came, looked and saw the vent was on the roof, they said they did not bring a ladder, which was a lie because there was one on their truck. I was also told it was too cold outside. They then gave me an estimate for 450.00$. I called in an attempt to get my deposit back considering how unprofessional the men were, and was rudely told that I took up a time slot that could have gone to someone else. They were here for 5 minutes. DISGUSTING COSTUMER SERVICE!

I have used Dave's Appliance several times and never and had a problem. This last experience though I was dissatisfied. My washing machine had a burning smell so I called them in and was told it was the motor sensor. The tech person replaced it and the bill was $330.00. They also fixed my refrigerator the same day, and it cost $368.88. I thought it would be cheaper to fix the washer than buying a new one so I had them fix it. Less than a week later, the same thing happened; I had a burning smell. I called them up thinking it needed another motor sensor, that the one they installed was faulty. Nope, this time I needed a new drum which would cost over $500.00!! Couldn't believe it. I feel the tech person should have discovered this on the first trip, and then I would not have invested the $330.00 and just would have bought a new machine. I went out shortly after and bought a washer for $700.00 at Home Depot. Unfortunately, I have lost my confidence in Dave's and will not be using them again.

Horrible!!! Charged almost $700 to fix my drawer microwave (only one year old). After 4 visits to my home, they could not figure it out so they took my microwave to their shop. They held it for more then a year and I only got it returned after calling several times. They did PARTIALLY refund for the part; however, I paid for over $300 in labor with the expectation of fixing my appliance, which is still broken.

Not on time but I understand, Dave was friendly and professional. He gave me an estimate and explained why I should keep my existing dishwasher. Waiting for parts and job to be finished in a few days. I would highly recommend this company.

Had them out for hot water heater problem. They checked it out and 10 minutes later I was told that it was a bad thermostat. I was given an estimate for $700.00 which is more then a new water heater and couldn't be installed until tomorrow or tomorrow evening hopefully. The part was $300.00 and the labor was $400.00. I knew it wouldn't take long to change the part and called their office and asked what the hourly rate was. I was then told rudely by the woman that answered that it was a flat rate. I didn't mind being charged an honest rate for the repair. I'm very mechanically inclined but having some medical issues right now I didn't want to deal with it. But being ripped off wasn't an option. So I ordered the part myself which was $112.00 and replaced it myself in 45 minutes being inexperienced at that particular repair. It's really a shame when companies try to rip you off. So, the bottom line is stay far away from Dave's appliance repair!

I would select 0 stars if it were possible. Two very brusque technicians came to evaluate our 8 year old Bosch washing machine. After 35 minutes they presented me with a $700 bill for replacing the speed control board. I was sitting 10 feet from the technicians the entire time, and at no point did they mention the cost or extent of the repair. I had no problem with the charge, however, in all honesty there was something about the encounter that I did not trust. I told them I did not want to spend that amount on an 8 year old appliance. They very unhappily removed the new part, and I paid the $100 service charge.

After doing some research we decided to keep the washer and get another company to do the repair. The new technician (from Reed's Appliance in Abington) noted that Dave's took our old speed control board with them. Dave's also removed additional unrelated parts (a pressure switch and a pressure bracket/sensor) and cut a pressure hose in half. Reed's technician could think of no reason why these parts had been cut or removed. Interestingly, Dave's $700 invoice did not list these as parts that needed to be replaced. We called Dave's and were told our parts were in the technician's truck and would be returned to us. Later that day (surprise!) we received a call stating the parts had been thrown out. The person answering the phones was quite rude....we never actually got to speak with Dave, despite multiple calls...and said the technician needed to remove those parts to get to the control board. Apparently this is a service technique unknown to other technicians. After several calls Dave's told us they would not reimburse us for the parts but would send a new pressure switch, hose and bracket. Since we didn't need the parts...we already paid Reed's to replace them...it's off to small claims court for us.

My take on this? Dave's technicians were annoyed that I had them undo their repair, and cut the hose and removed the additional parts in retribution. Find someplace where the owner cares enough about his name to ensure his technicians are honest and customers are treated fairly.

UPDATE 4/2017: Dave did not show up in small claims court on the appointed day. We were told the judgement was in our favor, however, Dave had 30 days to appeal. He did in fact file an appeal, which meant we had to either 1) invest significant time investigating the appeal process on our own (trust me when I say the courts are not at all helpful with this) or 2) invest significantly more than the $700 in question by hiring an attorney. After consulting our attorney we decided to drop the issue. I suspect Dave has been down this road before and is quite adept at playing the game. Nice guy.

BEWARE!!!! Please do not use! I gave them 1 star only to write review. They perpetrated fraud. Dave came out provided an estimate for my dishwasher repair. His men came out, spent 45 minutes told me all finished. I asked if I had to sign anything, they said no. I went upstairs after work, water in bottom of dishwasher, the original problem, called multiple times that week to have them come out, explaining Dave, himself said they would turn off water and electric to perform service. Never did they come to laundry, through my office, to do that. Scheduled 2 separate appts to get it done, no shows. They charged my credit card for the service before the men came out. I have been fighting them through my credit card since then. It’s been 6 months. The paper Dave had me sign saying I was agreeing to the service and to order parts, in fine print, stated I was accepting service was done and I agreed. I had to have the dishwasher pulled, when I finally bought a new one. To have dishwasher removed took 2 hours, electric turned off and water valve so old broke off, had to have it replaced, have the pump pulled and my plumber certify if was original part, and again fax all to my credit card people. It was $372. I agreed to pay the $104 estimate visit as that was done, but I was quoted $95 on phone.

Do not recommend. Spent 30 mins to fix the dryer & charged over $300 in labor. Major red flag is when they ask you to pay deposit on the phone before they come out. I felt extremely ripped off.

By far, the rudest most disrespectful service company I have worked with. We called Dave’s Appliance to fix our refrigerator. After coming out five times (once because the technician forgot to reconnect the lights) and charging us over $400, our water looks just as cloudy as before they “fixed it” I called the office and asked for Dave to call me back and was told he would be in touch. Never heard from him, I then called back a few days later, and was told that Dave would personally come out to inspect the fridge. On the morning of the appointment, another technician came out instead of Dave and told my wife that Dave isn’t going to come out just because we ask for him (even though we didn’t ask for him, his front office told us he was coming out). The technician was extremely rude to me wife, telling her that no matter what they do she’s not going to be happy and that we should drink bottled water. He went on to say that it’s our water and that we’re not getting any money back, and again drink bottled water. They refused to give us any money back even though they replaced $400 worth of parts knowing it wouldn’t fix the problem. The technician actually told my wife that it’s not a big deal $400 isn’t that much money. He also acknowledged their low review rating stating that people only
leave bad reviews. If you go over the BBB website you will see this company has numerous complaints against them for similar conduct. A completely unprofessional organization from top to bottom. I would not recommend them to anyone.

My refrigerator stopped working and I called as soon as I noticed. I had someone out and control panel fixed within 24 hours. The repair techs did a great job and were respectful of my property. They made a difficult situation much better.

Dave came to our house to repair our Bosch gas cooktop in a timely manner and was very personable. After trying several different maneuvers which were unsuccessful, he determined the remedy was to install a new central burner. My husband ordered and installed the part which consisted of removing 2 screws, putting the new burner in place and replacing the 2 screws, a process Dave said would fix everything. It didn’t. Dave’s Appliance and Repair refuses to stand by their analysis and recommendation and wants to charge us another $100 to come look at it again. The receptionist with whom my husband spoke just kept repeating the same sentence over and over without really addressing our disappointment and irritation.

Dave came to my home twice in the past 7 months to fix a dishwasher. First, the motor burned. Dave went out, got new motor and replaced it, and fixed all under 2 hours; it included moving the dishwasher out of its spot. Second, I thought it's motor again as we were getting standing water again. Dave came, looked a motor, and found a piece of broken glass (I broke couple glasses during loading) in the belt. Dave's repair services staff is knowledge, helpful, answer all my questions and do very good job!!

I called Dave's appliance repair and got an appointment a week ago. I asked for an early appointment due to work. No one called or told me a time frame so I called to find out when they would come. They said they would call when they are 10 minutes away as that is their policy.
The man who came to look at our dryer said we needed a roller and he didn't have it and would have to order it. The total was $330, which I felt was very expensive but since he took it apart the dryer is making even more noise than it was. I was trying to be proactive and now the dryer is noisier.
A week later they are supposed to be here at 830am with the new parts to fix my dryer. I called at 10am and they said they had marked our order as complete and had no intention of coming today despite cashing our check for work not completed. It is now 12pm and no one will answer the phone to tell us an arrival time or what the next step is.
This is totally unprofessional and over priced. Please chose another company that is more reliable and communicates better. I asked to speak with a manager and to get a discounted rate but the office manager is not available on weekends. So now we paid for a service not yet completed and no scheduled time for then to come!

I couldn’t have been happier with Dave and his team. He was on time, did a quick fix of my refrigerator to tide us over and then came back w a part the next day with a permanent fix. He also fixed our dishwasher. Incredibly, he said he would mail us a few parts for small stuff on our appliances and he did! Was thoroughly prepared to call many times to check the status and didn’t have to. Dave did what he said he would without a hassle. We are super appreciative

No wonder they have a rating the low. I should’ve looked before I made the appointment.,but I didn’t and this is what happened. My dishwasher broke, so I just googled appliance repair near me and call the first that came up, which is shocking too with the rating of two stars I’m not sure how they coming up first so I called Dave’s appliance repair. They came in next day to look what happened besides the point that it’s always clean in my home and nobody ever walk in their shoes on. I also vacuumed and mopped the floor before they came in thinking that they probably gonna be working on the floor and I wanna make sure that the floors are clean , silly of me )))so when they knock on the door and I opened it two people walked in straight in to my kitchen in their shoes without even stopping for one second and asking is that OK ????And when I gain back my speech because I lost it for a second I asked ,are you guys gonna be in your shoes ,you don’t have anything to cover it with ?they both looked at me like I’m crazy , and pulled up a little like a hand towel or something put it on the floor and said if you want we could be standing on it and I was trying to picture it How are they gonna be fixing /looking at a dishwasher while standing on a small ,very small like a hand towel small cloth, so after they told me it’s a pump and I need to order one and the soonest it’s can be fixed is on Thursday of next week and that was Friday so we’re talking about five days,it’s just a pump , and I explained to them that we’re leaving on vacation and we have a big trip before that, and if we are going to do that ,that the only day I can do this is Tuesday so I was reassured that on Tuesday morning they’ll be here to repair it, and that’s the only reason why I signed that piece of paper, saying that yes I agree to pay that fee .so Tuesday comes and there’s a snow and yes at 7 AM There was a lot of snow but after 10 AM all the snow were gone and I called their office at 10:30 and said can someone please come in because I explained the situation before ,I explained why ,why I needed for them to be here that particular day and what I heard is well the boss is already let everybody go home, and get this IF HE Changes his mind I’ll let you know!!!!!!
I was speechless. I said he might feel very important. Have all this power over people who need their repairs ,I said bye and hang up. The next day when they call to say that they be there in about 20 minutes. I said that I might be a few minutes behind them because I have to drop my kids to school and answering service told me that nobody’s gonna wait. I said after yesterday , after fact that I have to change everything all the plans on the day of a big trip because they didn’t come in yesterday if they will wait for 15 minutes nothing will happened ,but I wasn’t going to be late 15 minutes and if she would’ve listened to me she would’ve heard that, so I make this long story short no one show up , when I called an hour later, asking why no one here , got yelled at ,blamed for things that were turned, completely upside down, made fun of my accent .So they took my money ,they never came to Repair , They were extremely rude during the visit, extremely rude the answering service so No I would not recommend this business. because it’s not a business this is a joke. They think that this is inside of their kitchen. This is how they talk to customers
all I got from them is in charge on my card, and bad service,. He could’ve simply asked me if there is a way I could get the repair person to my home, if I wanna do that because he knew that I needed that dishwasher to be repaired, and if you’re a small business ,specially if you’re small business , you should be communicated with your customers you can’t talk to people like you their boss,Boss should not talk like that to their people , Customers never.
    No,No,No
And I don’t usually write reviews ,specially negative . This is my second time and you know what else I’m gonna also file a complaint to BBB this is how experience made me feel.

This has been a horrible experience. They seemed nice and competent until they had my money and had to come back for a third time to get the replaced part to work. Then, they refused to come on a Saturday (and admitted work day) to make the ordeal easier on me. Before this all happened, I had called Dave himself to understand why I was not told from the beginning that I might also need to replace the motherboard. When he did not call back, his office worker said, "He's not in the office that much, so we just leave him his messages and he responds to them whenever he does come in."

This is 1 star because I could not post with ZERO STARS.
