Excellent work from Philadelphia Gardens in transforming my backyard to a beautiful new living space. From their design work, coordination with fencing and hardscrape workers, and plant/shrub recommendations, everything was perfect. Thanks to their entire team!

I couldn't be happier with the services they provided. I had a dreary concrete pad in my backyard with a few sad pots scattered around, Toni Ann and her crew came in and completely renovated it. I look forward to the change in each season to see what new beauties will bloom in my new yard, honestly thrilled I contacted them!

Philadelphia Gardens has helped me with two rowhouse backyards for almost 10 years and it’s been a wonderful experience. Toni Ann and her crew are really sensitive to my preferences and patient with my cramped, inconvenient locations and they’ve put together a great set of solutions. The view out my kitchen window is a paradise of blooms, butterflies, and bees. I just love it and could never have done it without them.

I am delighted with the job Philadelphia Gardens did! From the initial consultation through the designing process to the actual installation they were professional, courteous, clean and thorough. They were attentive to the few elements I had hopes for and did a terrific job of incorporating them into the design. There willingness to maintain the garden works well for me also. I am so glad I chose them!

Philadelphia Garden took our sad little back patio and turned it into a nature retreat. We live in Center City so we didn’t have much room to work with, but Brendan helped us come up with a design that maximized the space. He sent us draft proposals and modified them based on our input. He and his team were very thorough, asking us to send photos of the space at different times of day so they could choose the appropriate plants for that space. To make full use of the space we chose to move the stairs so Brendan connected us with a terrific carpenter (Zach Hedgepeth) who did a great job and coordinated with Brendan to make sure the timing worked out. Once that was done he had his stone mason pull up the ugly brick floor and replace it with beautiful bluestone hardscape. Then his team came in to install the planters and the plants. The whole time they communicated well, keeping us updated on their work and staying in touch with the subs so they knew what was happening. Even now that the patio is done, Brendan has been responsive to my questions in email and offered to replace some plants that didn’t survive the winter. We absolutely love sitting out in our beautiful patio surrounded by lush greenery and seeing how the different plants flower at different times. Brendan and his team were a delight to work with and I highly recommend them.

Amazing guy professional work never been happier

Our first use of this company has been stellar. Professional consultation by Locke and then Juan and Jesus did an amazing job. of Apart from general pruning they removed a variegated willow and ground the stump into fine mulch! Gentle with our garden plants, friendly and helpful. I cannot rate them more highly.

We were customers of McFarland Landscape Services for over 40 years. During that period we worked with two generations of outstanding landscaping professionals to plan and refine our landscape design and maintain the health of our trees and gardens. McFarland arborists were always responsive to our unique environment and were extremely knowledgeable and up to date about how best to control disease in plants and trees without using chemicals that cause damage to the environment and to human health.

This is my 2nd time using McFarland, and as always, they never disappoint. They rebuilt my sagging row home patio, built new steps to the back alley, and built and installed an alley door. Everything exceeded my expectations, and I was impressed with their extraordinary attention to detail and oversight for the project.

No regard for people at all. They saw the other end of the road was blocked by aqua doing work and proceeded to set up a crane blocking in 20 plus houses without even a knock or heads up aqua had been there for almost a month working so they had to know about it. Zero common courtesy. They were also recklessly dropping branches right by neighbors cars still again without going around trying to ask people to move them

I'm a property manager and have used McFarland for years at all my properties. I also use them for my own property in Mt Airy. Any time I need tree work done or trees planted they come out very quickly and do a professional job. They guarantee all their work. Great company!

I wanted then to prune the tree, remove dead/dying branches. They didn't tell me when they were coming. When I got home the job was done and they removed the branches. They didn't clean the dropped needles. I called them back for the branches with a 3 foot gap. I still have one or two. Staff is very nice and professional. Pricing is adequate. I will call again. But, I will be home when the work is done.

Nick and his crew were spectacular! Extremely professional, knowledgeable, and great at communicating along the way. I would highly recommend McFarland to my family and friends.

Greg and his crew do an excellent job! Greg is very knowledgeable and carefully explains the why's and how's of tree work that promotes proper growth. We've had them tackle some big jobs and have been so impressed every time with their work! I will be using them for all my properties!

Horrible company. They are currently out on 20th and Lombard dropping huge branches on cars in an area that was never coned off. I approached the guys doing the work and they said it’s not their problem. I called and hopefully they stop. I’m lucky I saw my car being hit. The other people most likely have damage and aren’t going to know why.

McFarland landscapers are one of the most professionals and well run landscapers in the Philadelphia area. For years they have been landscaping my home as well as many of my neighbors homes. When I was planning a park cleanup at Wharton Square Park in Point Breeze, I reached out and within 24 hours got a response from Paul Morano, one of their outdoor living specialists, about a giant donations of wood chips they could donate. Overall, a very well run, organized and professional organization who should be first on your list to do your job!

Peter McFarland and his professional crew have created, cared for, and protected our beautifully landscaped property for almost a decade! The grass, trees, shrubs and hardscape are well maintained and treated for diseases and pests. Trees have been removed and stumps ground out same day! He even has a professional team of specialists who can fell a gigantic white pine tree with minimal disruption and they prune these trees for us like nothing we have ever seen. The entire property is sprayed for ticks each month to protect my dogs who are free to roam inside our fence. The trees are treated to protect them from invasive species of bugs and diseases. Nothing is harmful for my dogs! The 400+ trees and shrubs he has planted are healthy and big, blending in seamlessly with our mature landscaping. His pricing is fair and all services are individually priced. He shows up! He shows up when he says he will show up! He'll take care of your property without you being there. His crew will happily accommodate on site requests. His crew will wave hello!

I was highly impressed with how quickly and cleanly they removed a large Elm tree that was too close to my house. The team accidently broke one of my windows and was quick to inform me and apologize- I understand accidents happen.

What completely baffles me is that two weeks and several calls later, the Arborist that scheduled the work has refused to return my calls in relation to getting the window replaced. He even stopped by my house when I wasn't home without notifying me (I assume to inspect the damage), but couldn't find the time to call? Highly unprofessional and frankly for this level of service I can get my landscaping done for far less elsewhere.

I had a tree removed in my backyard by McFarland. Nick and his crew were very responsive, incredibly nice, and did an unbelievably good job cleaning up afterwards. I had actually hired a cleaning service to come and cancelled them after seeing what a great job McFarland had done!

My neighbor was having her tree trimmed by McFarland last week. I stepped outside my house to ask one of the workers for advice on how I should go about removing a very large dead branch from one of my own trees. The worker showed me where I'd need to make the cut. I thanked him for the advice and went back inside my house. An hour later I opened my front door to discover that McFarland had removed and taken away the branch for me. They didn't even bother to tell me or stick around for a thank you or a tip--they just did it because they were decent human beings. If I ever need a tree trimmer, I know who I'll be calling. Thank you, McFarland!

It was a pleasure doing business with McFarland tree service. I received an itemized quote in detail after a thorough assessment by the arborist. All tree work was done professionally and artistically .Debris removal was complete and the garden looked beautiful at the end of the job.
