Avoid this company!

JML makes commitments regarding when they will do things, then they don't show up and don't even have the courtesy to notify us.

When they do eventually show up, the quality of their work is horrendous. Our lawn & landscaping look awful thanks to JML.

I strongly recommend that people should avoid JML.

Will, Larry, Marcellino, and their labor did a very good job for us in design and installation of two retaining walls, pathway, and steps for the front yard of my house. Would recommend Getting a quote from this company.

Good bet that JML had a dedicated group of H2B Visa workers in the past but apparently this did not happen in 2019. JML's service rating used to be in the B+ to A- range in years past.

2019 is at best a C- or D. At the current point, they are incapable of performing on their recurring contracted work let alone any new work. Suggestion in the future is to have performance clauses related to timing and to have your management company bird-dog them on every cut/visit

We are new to this company however since the beginning when we interviewed to the beginning of service, the results have been top notch. David L. Is our service rep. And walked the neighborhood in 28* weather answering every question and giving expert advise and choices so far could not be happier!! Everyone has a right to an opinion but I will say those 1 star comments Must of had a bad day

We are a small HOA, and a number of years ago, we needed professional assistance with our grounds. JML has always been very professional, bottom to up, knowledgeable, prompt and courteous. What a difference it has made to our small community! I am happy that they are on "our team"!

This company driving a dump truck with a trailer almost hit a car ahead of me and myself. They pulled out as they clearly saw a line of cars coming with no disregard. Your drivers need to be shown how to properly drive, so reckless!! I wouldn’t be wasting my time if my kids were not in the care but they were!! Train your drivers to drive with more caution!

As a chairperson of HOA landscaping committee, I find JML easy to work with. Dave Penkrot, who is assigned to our community is very pleasant to work with and takes care of all my landscaping needs(big and small) for our community. He handles all questions well and in a professional manner. Excellent company for any type of landscaping projects.

Extremely disappointed with JML Landscaping. I had contracted with them early February 2019 to repair and regrade my front lawn. Mike Giarusso was the individual I was working with; he never returned my calls and I had to continually reach out. The crew finally showed up August 2019. The rock installed is NOT the same rock as the front beds, they did not regrade, but instead threw some topsoil down and laid seed. Tubers are growing everywhere, there is a root still sticking out of the ground, and the tree they planted (cost $750 for the tree) I could have bought at Lowe's for $99. Again, no response from JML.

I had Jml grade my backyard for better drainage. Will came and gave the estimate and had great communication through the whole process. They came when he said he would and finished in one day. Everyone was very neat and professional. I would use and recommend in the future.

We had JML install landscaping in our yard. Dave Penkrot designed a beautiful landscape for us to enjoy everyday. Phase 1 took place in the fall of 2019 that included arborvitae emerald green trees, dogwoods and mulch. Phase 2 took place in the spring of 2020 that included small rose bushes, holly bushes, Japanese grass, Russian sage, a mini French drain and stone to emphasize the unique border. Dave was great to work with..... personable, responsive and professional. The crew was efficient and hardworking. We highly recommend JML Landscaping!

Several landscaping company’s and JML has been the best! Dave Penkrot our contact and man in charge is exceptional with fast response and knowledgeable experience in what we need. Our neighborhood looks great, the crew works so hard to keep it that way and work long hard hours! When dealing with nature and fighting elements there will always be issues but there initiative to get it right is
Highly commendable.

We have been working with JML Landscape Management for over 2 years for a number of services. Most of the time they tell you what you like to hear but would not deliver what they promise or the service is incomplete.
The do not honor the warranty for anything and will not return to fix what they started.

Here are a list of services which we requested and the results;
1. Remove back yard hill trees and ground cover and plant new shrubs.
JML removed all the trees and ground cover but I had to come up with the design and types of plants on our own. JML talks landscape ideas but would not provide any Landscaping designs or ideas.
The plants that were ordered took forever to get planted and about a third of them did not survive and the plants were NOT replaced according to their warranty!

2. Remove old rotten single row of border ties in the back and replace with new treated ties.
The removal was not so hard but the new ties were anchored with pegs without pre drilling holes in them and they have been splitting up and would probably not last as long.

3. Remove old plant box, plant grass on the side of the house, and use small river rocks for border agains the house.

They actually did a good job on removing and planting grass, however they were short about 5-8 bags of rocks and did not get more either. Instead they told me to get more rocks myself from Home Depot or they will charge me a lot more!

4. Provide solutions for drainage and landscaping ideas for the patio area in the back.

Never provided anything for this request and kept telling me how busy the one person who is in charge of landscaping is!

I do NOT recommend JML to anyone.

They should change the name to "JML Land Escaping"!

Worked with Harrison as the overseer of my project. He was very knowledgeable of different plant types and worked with me on what choices were fitting for my landscaping. He was pleasant and responded to texts with my questions or problems immediately.

JML was quick in response time by emails and phone chats to my needs. As soon as I notified them, they came over to survey the amount work to be done to my back yard that looked liked a jungle forest of wild over growth shrubs and bushes. The quote was reasonable too. For a full days of work with two of their dedicated workers , the back yard and our side yards looks so good, a face lift of sorts, all debris was taken away too. We are so pleased with the job.

Completely incompetent. This company hires “migrants” (according to my HOA which uses this company), does not train them and cannot even communicate with them, then unleashes them in my neighborhood to prune shrubs, even small ones, using a giant weedwhacker, in the middle of summer (when you’re not supposed to prune). They have repeatedly ruined my shrubs, for example, cutting a spirea in full bloom down to a small boxwood-like shape with bare branches sticking up all over. Do not allow this company anywhere near your yard if you have a choice and if you care about your landscaping being properly cared for. Oh, and when you contact them to discuss a concern, they don’t return your call. It’s been 3 business days since I left a message with their secretary to have someone call me, with no response. Truly unprofessional.

Very pleased with the work that I have seen JML complete in our Hytyre Farms Plan. Also, additional work that Ron and I have contracted with JML for our own property has been done and we are very happy with the work. We dealt with John Bradshaw, and he could not have been more helpful, timely and efficient. Very satisfied!!

JML landscaping did a beautiful job on our backyard renovation. They worked with us to design retaining walls, stairs, pathways and a fire pit. They replaced our deck and rails as well as building two deck extensions. They were wonderful to work with from design to completion. Very industrious and professional workers. I highly recommend them.

Just had an instance where they didn’t finish removing snow from our neighborhood and had to be asked to come back. When they do finish a job, it’s not up to standards.

I would love to know when your guys cut grass particularly had a few places in Fox Chapel. Why do they blow the grass all over the road in the bed? Is that just the way they’re trained or is that just what they’re told to do or is that just how you guys cut grass cause on a personal opinion if you came to my house and was blowing grass in my bed, I’d make you leave and I won’t pay you! As you can see in the photo, the guy was turning around, and as he turned around, he’s blowing the grass on his next pass right into the bed

JML is contracted through our HOA to service our community. Outside of an unreliable cut schedule, they have ZERO regard for actual landscaping. The photos provided were taken within our community after JML visited. We’d experienced heavy rainfall and rather than rescheduling the cut for a reasonable purpose, they destroyed beautiful lawns. Several residents have taken to maintaining their own lawns at an additional expense as there is no way to “opt out” of JML’s abysmal services.
Our HOA company is CMA. Despite constantly bringing these situations to their attention, their only interest is their bottom line. This cheap cut keeps us looking shabby and their pockets full. It goes without saying to avoid CMA/CMP (whatever name they are using to try and change their reputation now) as well since this is the type of service they facilitate.
