Hahn's has an extensive selection of both indoor and outdoor plants. Even so, this nursery is usually the last one that I visit when I'm looking for a specific plant/specimen.

    Why, you ask?

    1. It's far from my home base.

    2. The prices can be shocking. (Having said this, there were a number of half-off sales going on today)

    3. Pittsburghers don't cross bridges. 😉

Today I saw that Hahn's does have volume discounts for certain plants. (For example, buy a flat of ____ plant, get a percentage off...)

Unfortunately for me, though, the plant I was looking for (horsetail rush--it's unusual enough that I should've called first.) Wasn't available. I was able to ask an employee regarding their stock of this plant AND able to get an answer very quickly and efficiently--I didn't have to wait around for 10 minutes)

This nursery is a great place to go to waste a lot of time with all of the beautiful flora. (I mean that in a very positive way!)

A question to Hahn's: Do you have a PA/Ohio River Valley NATIVE plant collection?

More and more I'm increasingly inclined to plant native grasses, trees, bushes and flowers. (You may have something like this set up already, but I want specifically seeking it out today.)

Final thoughts: I may not go here often, but when I do, I enjoy the time that I have spent meandering through their extensive collections. It's like Phipps, but you can buy the plants and take them home!

Enjoy the sights and smells of this beautiful nursery!

PS Thank you Hahn's for showcasing the KS "state grass" from my home state (Little Bluestem) If you have erosion problems, these two varieties may very well solve some of the problem. (See photos)

I got swamp milkweed from this place and they even had tags on them that said “help save the butterflies”. Well last night they started throwing and dying and I realized that my milkweed has been treated with pesticides. I’m so disturbed and disappointed what kind of nursery or person knows the plant they are selling are for insects and treat it anyways!? Most likely neem oil since I’ve seen them in the soil. Do not go to this place they do not deserve the money, DO NOT BUY MILKWEED FROM HERE. They are part of the problem.

This the best nursery in the North Hills by far. The selection and quality of the plants is first rate. Forget about the big box stores, they can't compare. Laurie is extremely knowledgeable and really cares about each and every customer.

I went in to buy some flowers to plant in some raised beds and urns. Tess was THE BEST!!! She took so much time to help me figure out how the sun would hit my raised beds. She patiently answered all of my questions and helped me pick out some beautiful assortments of flowers that would survive and be easy to maintain in the areas I will be planting. Hahn's had so many beautiful colorful flowers to choose from!

It’s a great source of plants, especially flowering perennials and for herbs/veg plants during the spring planting. They have all sorts: tree saplings, annuals, shrubs, etc.

The staff are very helpful, the ladies at the counter do know about plants like their hardiness, care and blooming features. They help search/order plants one wishes for 👏👏👏👏👏.

It’s very organized, plants arranged as though they’re in a garden. This makes it easy to browse and have a better thought of which plants might look like in one’s own garden/yard.

They have some “stone crafts” for garden/yard designs. They also have garden supplies.

It’s a true nursery🪴🌴🥀🌱🪸 rather than a seasonal box store merely dispose of plants in the spring/early summer.

My work recently used A&N for a build your owner bouquet setup for an event and it was beautifully done! Very organized and easy to communicate.

I have also visited the gift shop and greenhouse and it is so well curated! The gift shop has a little bit of everything and priced reasonably.

I needed a very small floral arrangement to be placed in a 12oz tumbler for a retirement gift. They were very accomodating and made a beautiful arrangement for me and it was super affordable! Everyone was friendly and happy to take care of my request!
