Brian and his team at DirtWorks replaced a timber retaining wall for me - Brian was professional, honest, responsive, and did a great job overall. I couldn’t recommend him more.

Brian put in a stamped concrete patio for our home and did a fantastic job! He is a perfectionist and it shows! Detail oriented and a great eye for design! Couldn't be happier!

This company is excellent. I had an emergency landscaping issue and called Dirt Works. Brian was able to come to my home within a couple hours from my call. He gave me the solutions and calmed me down. I appreciate the professional service. I highly recommend them.

Anyone debating on using this company because of timing, they’re worth the wait! Can’t say enough good things about how our retaining wall turned out. Brian and his crew are meticulous about their work and have some of the best equipment to get the job done in a timely manner. So much so, we are having them come back for more work!

Brain the owner and operator of Dirt Works Landscape and Excavation has done a FANTASTIC job on our 14ft by 8ft retaining wall and created a nice sitting patio porch for our front door (he also added 3 nice big boulders to my landscape for a nicer look). He beat the other 2 quotes I had and stuck to the grand total (no surprise $$$ addons at the end of the job like some contractors I have dealt with). He is honest, up front and hard working. He keeps his job site clean and uses quality supplies and equipment. I will be using Brian moving forward on some other jobs I have around the house that I don't have the tools or time to handle (I'm going to have him remove 3 big shrubs from my back yard and dump dirt and grass seed so I can move my fence back 30 more feet. Also, I'm going to have him pressure wash my deck to get the old paint of so I can reseal it. Visit him on FACEBOOK or just give him a call!!!!!!

Bottom line: Brian is an honest to goodness old-fashion hard worker, he gives fair upfront pricing, and acts professionally start to finish. He communicates clearly and keeps you up to date with the project so there are no surprises. He has professional dump trucks, heavy trailers, Caterpillar loaders, & uniformed employees. He works non-stop 10-12hr days (he even worked on a holiday, all day, to get my job done!) and treats your project like gold. He's a breath of fresh air to deal with when you are used to fly-by-night contractors coming and going from your job, and never knowing whats going on and when they'll be back! We moved into a new home a few months ago that needed professional landscaping help. The very large mulch beds surrounding the house (approx 20'x40' and 30'x30') were completely overgrown and out of control with weeds, trees, unwanted bushes, and looked like they hadn't been touched for a few years. It was a job far too big for homeowner grade tools and equipment. Brian tackled the job and did a major landscaping overhaul and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. Brian used his awesome Caterpillar machine to completely dig out and re-grade the area and dig out our giant landscape boulders and re-position them. He even took out a couple large trees that were too close to the house. We gave him free reign to re-design the whole area and bring in the plants and shrubs he thought would work for us. It looks fantastic! The plants are all from a professional nursery, far superior to the stuff you get at home depot or lowes. Make no mistake this was a BIG job, and Brian got it done in just a couple days. I will be using him again in the future and recommending him to family, friends, and neighbors.

Top notch company that takes pride in their work. Could not have asked for a better experience. He has done everything for us from yard grading / hydro seeding to stamped concrete around our pool. Brian is a master at his craft that I will continue to use in the future. No need to call anyone else, highly recommend.

Brian installed landscape lighting at our home. He did a fantastic job, no mess, we were well informed and we couldn't have been happier! I have never seen such lovely and dramatic lighting! There was an issue with the power box, Brian handled it immediately and seamlessly. Highly satisfied with the entire process!

I was completely satisfied with Brian's work. He was quick and clean. His follow up was surprising. He texted weekly to get updates on the lawn and advised me on how to water and maintain healthy growth of the lawn. Will be using him in the spring for additional work.

I honestly don't know where to start. I guess at the beginning. Dirtworks started the job when he said he would, and finished when he said he would. Quite different from the "two weeks" you hear from a contractor.
Then their work is exceptional. I thought craftsmanship and caring about your work was a lost art. Not with Dirtworks. Their attention to detail was phenomenal. Things I would have never noticed were done perfectly. I could not find a thing that they did in building my wall that was done in a compromising fashion.
When Brian bid the job I thought it was a fair bid. After seeing the job that he did I feel I got more than my money's worth. If you are thinking of using him, do it. You won't regret it.
As I told my wife this was some of the best money I ever spent. -
I had a stamped and dyed concrete patio done. It turned out amazing. Brian is very knowledgeable, informative, efficient and clean. I highly recommend!

I originally talked to another man about a retaining wall and french drain. He quickly realized that the scope of the project was too large for him and recommended Brian at Dirt Works Landscape and Excavation. Brian called me within a few minutes and met with me right away. I was a responsible homeowner and got additional bids, but I chose Dirt Works because Brian understood the severity of my water issues. I felt very confident that he was going to be able to handle exactly what he was proposing. His written estimate was thorough plus he kept me up to date daily on any problems that arose. He never pushed additional upgrades on me but was more than accommodating when I asked for extra projects that were not in the original estimate. My project began with a rather large french drain and retaining wall and ended up with a whole yard landscaping. The end result is a yard that I don't cringe at when I come home after work. I look forward to enjoying my new space in the coming years and not worrying every time it rains. Brian, you are a rock star! (Pun intended!)

We just had Dirt Works pour a new sidewalk / stairs and it could not have gone any smoother or turned out any better. Working with Brian and Brandon was super easy as they are both true professionals. They are both respectful and trustworthy and the pride they have for their work really shows. I would highly recommend them.

Brian and his crew have done two jobs for me at my house, they did a great job both times. He was awesome to work with and he listened to our needs and ideas then came up with a concept that fit perfectly with both. He is a responsive and knowledgeable professional with an eye for detail and exacting standards. I will use him again for any needs in the future!

Dirt Works did a garage tear down and landscaping for me the week of June 26, 2023. Brian, the owner, was awesome; professional, reliable and knowledgeable. He explained the job in detail and made some great suggestions. Brian and his crew worked long hours and finished the job in 2 days, I would highly recommend Dirt Works and will not hesitate to hire them again.

I had a major overhaul of my landscaping and was well-satisfied. Brian was knowledgeable & prompt in communicating. He has an impressive work ethic, collaborates with the customer to provide the desired outcome, and follows up after the work is done. Great job, Brian!.
My initial review (above) was posted a couple of years ago. We recently moved to a new home in the South Hills and needed extensive yard work -- leveling, adding topsoil, hydroseeding, tree planting, etc. Once again we contacted Brian and once again he did a wonderful job under less than ideal weather conditions (heat and rain). He and his crew worked from early morning until dusk. Brian made certain his crew completed the work as we requested and cleaned up the site each evening. When extreme heat and the invasive "army worms" devasted much of my newly-planted grass, Brian replanted and even though he moved on to other jobs he continued to monitor the progress of my lawn until I was satisfied. I'm somewhat fussy and like details done right, but I have nothing but praise for the work Brian has done for me and would heartily recommend him for any landscape work. -
Brian did a fantastic job on our yard. After getting a pool our yard needed some serious landscaping and excavating. We saw the work that Dirt Works did on a neighbor's yard and we decided to hire Brian. He is extremely knowledgeable and affordable. He did a great job fixing a pretty complex issue in our yard.

The work was done in an orderly fashion with cleanup after every work day. Brian kept in touch with us everyday with a progress report and we couldn't be happier with the finished product. I highly recommend DirtWorks for any project you may be considering.

Brian was easy to work with and extremely professional. He arrived early and worked until sundown. He provided premium sod with quality installation and took pride in every step of the process including the hydroseeding of our backyard. He even came back to check on the progress of our new lawn! We couldn't be happier and highly recommend Dirt Works without reservation!

He Hydroseeded my lawn and the grass barely came up. He blamed everything from the soil, incorrect prep, watering, the weather, you name it. I had my soil sent away to Penn State for an analysis and it came back perfectly fine. I gave him a second chance to make it right and he overcharged me. He brought in about 100 dollars in top soil (5 tons) and I asked him to make sure he brought his laser level to make sure it was with a half inch of level for an ice rink we were installing . He didn’t even own a rotary laser level like any competent excavator. I reviewed our security camera footage and there was no laser level used. Now I have to deal with a 4 inch drop.
UPDATE: As you can see from this jokers response, this isn’t a company you want to deal with. I had two very simple requests. Make sure everything was level since I was installing an ice rink and make the grass grow. He missed the mark on both.
ANOTHER UPDATE: I was able to level by hand some of the unevenness. The grass came back after the rink was on it all winter. This guy is clueless. See picture.
