I can't recommend Stockman Landscape highly enough. From my first meeting with Tyler at the Home Show to the day that my project was completed, the communication was strong and clear. Tyler was always available to answer my questions or discuss options. The work was done professionally and to our satisfaction. The team was friendly, approachable, dependable, highly skilled and made the project enjoyable and very much a blessing. The finished look is exceptional.

Buyer beware. I would not recommend Stockman Lawnscape. I've had an awful experience. Back in December they constructed a two tiered stone wall for me in my backyard. They finished in the spring and the wall is now crumbling - literally breaking apart. Initially they were responsive and said they would make it right but they have not delivered on that promise. They now have stopped returning my calls. I am out tens of thousands of dollars. They also damaged my brand new deck and have not returned to fix it. I have no choice but to bring them to court to try to get some of my money back so I can have this fixed. So disheartening. I've never once posted a negative review about a business. I wish they were the professional company that the 5 star reviews on here say they were. No one needs this headache...why can't companies just do the right thing? The owner's response below is an outright lie. Their sales person Sam recommended we use stone taken from the property/hill to build the wall. I never "insisted". I did what was recommended. I even questioned whether it was strong enough. I was told yes. I trusted their expert opinion. They left my deck damaged, loose stones on my steps, my side lawn all torn up and stains on my new driveway. Tens of thousands of dollars were invested in this project.

We first met Stockman at the Pgh Home & Garden show as we were looking to replace a crumbling retaining wall that was improperly built by the prior homeowner. We also were looking to do some regrading of our lot. Tyler was the first to speak with us at the show and he was very attentive to what we explained and gave us some ideas to consider along with some very helpful reading material. When the time came to solicit bids for the work not only did Tyler remember us but he was the first to make a site visit and subsequently the first to submit a bid. We chose Stockman because we were very impressed with their knowledge (we also dealt extensively with their engineer, Scott), professionalism, and their commitment to the timeliness of the work. They also had the best price! In the end we couldn't have been more happy with the work performed--mostly by Jeff and John--despite some unforeseen issues they encountered (e.g., an unexpected broken drain pipe which they replaced and just included as part of the project) and working around near daily rain. They also removed three large bushes for us upon quick request.
Just a few days after the job was complete we got a torrential rain storm that did significant damage to the newly-seeded and mulched landscaping. Although the job was technically complete I contacted Tyler and explained what happened. Stockman came back twice and executed repairs to all of the damaged landscaping. Total class act on their part!
We have received many compliments on the wall--a two-tiered retaining wall built with Versa Lok block and installed downlighting. Bottom line, we highly recommend Stockman Landscaping. And they were always very easy to reach and quick to respond to our questions and concerns.

Very unreliable. Signed up for a date for them to come over and give me a quote for some work at my home. They texted me cancelling on me and asked that I reschedule. I have multiple dates and times and none worked for them. They finally ghosted me over text after I offered two final dates and times. Luckily I was able to find a couple of other contractors to give bids.

Updating my review to say that we did, in fact, use Stockman again to create and edge six flower beds and to install an in-line pergola and a privacy screen around our trash cans. Tyler is incredibly responsive to any questions or concerns and the entire team did another excellent job. Not only is the work great but this company is really affordable. I'll come back next year to write a third review because we will definitely use them next year too!

We hired Stockman to build three retaining walls on our property. They were extremely responsive even after it took us a whole year to decide if we were going to do the work. The price was right, the staff was amazing. They did the job well and were attentive to our goals and some changes we asked them to make. We will definitely use them again!

Stockman Landscaping is a🔥🔥 Landscaping Company!!! I have nothing but praise. The entire team was very professional, on time and approachable. They finished my front yard in a week and a half. Tyler was my Project Mgr. he is just amazing!! His #2 guy Jeff is also amazing and has mad masonry skills.
I will be using Stockman Landscaping for my future projects.

We had a driveway retaining wall done- couldn’t be more pleased! The crew was skilled and knowledgeable. Work area was clean. Job stayed on schedule. Would highly recommend and would definitely use them again!

We met Tyler at the home show and he came out twice as we tried to decide what to do to give ourselves more out door living space. Once we figured that out we had a great steady 2 man crew. Michael and Randy are amazing. They did the work, polite and kept us in the look. They entertained all our questions and the whole team was available anytime we needed anything. They were able to tie our drain spot to an existing french drain to improve efficiency I didn’t even know was missing. We also did a last minute add for lights and I’m so glad we did as it looks amazing. I would absolutely recommend and would use them again.

Tyler and his team (Kevin and Shrek) helped us with a rather involved project including deck demolition and rebuild (helped us find someone to do this) and navigating terrible permit process with Whitehall Borough, all to construct a beautiful patio and fire pit. They were very flexible, working around our different work schedules to make time to meet with us.Would 100% recommend them for any project, we will have them return for future landscape projects as soon as we've paid for this one!!

Stockman Landscaping contacted me promptly after my initial inquiry. They came out and gave me a fair estimate and started work shortly after. They kept me informed of when the work would begin, if there was a delay and were wonderful with any questions I had. The small retaining wall and landscaping was exactly what I wanted. I am extremely happy with the work that they did!

After having multiple companies ignore me or show up and never provide a quote Nate Stockman responded and came out the same day with a quote within 24 hours. The crew had my place in shape by the end of the following week. Everything looks amazing. I will definitely be using them again.

In past home projects we have had trouble even getting a call back from companies. Not so with Stockman’s! We got a call back within a day.
They replaced an old paver wall with a small Versa Loc wall. From our first contact with them, to our finished product, we have been thrilled! The entire process was so easy. Tyler was an excellent communicator/facilitator. He constantly kept us up to date on everything. The workers were punctual, did good quality work, and cleaned up after themselves. We would definitely recommend Stockman’s for wall construction and hope we get the chance to work with them again in the future.

After some late season sewer repair that had the front yard fully dug up I called Stockman to ask about regrading and dormant seeding of the yard. I was impressed that I got a very quick response to my inquiry. Their estimator came out, assessed the area, noted the work that I wanted done and withing 24 hours I had an estimate for the work. They quickly got it scheduled and within the course of a few days my 'surface of the moon' yard was turned into something that looked tidy and cared for. After seeing my nice front yard ravaged by a sewer replacement it was a relief to get it taken care of so quickly and easily. I'd certainly recommend them.

We met Kevin at the Pittsburgh Home and Garden Show. We were impressed with his knowledge and decided to get a proposal for our fire pit. Kevin met us at our place in Somerset to map out what we wanted. He even had us set up chairs "around the fire pit" to make sure the fire pit area would be the proper size.
He later brought Jeff and John to our place to perform the work. We could not have been more pleased with their professionalism, knowledge and they were extremely personable! The results exceeded our expectations. The fire pit, grading and reseeding the area, and cleanup were all top notch.
We will definitely contact Stockman for our next project

Tyler and his team are awesome.
Would hire them for anything they say they can do. Reasonably priced and ahead of their competitors with intelligent direction.
Backstory time: we got into a bit of heat when laying a mound of soil down, without a permit. With many departments involved, an engineer with the wrong plan, a boat load of anxiety, and little to no help or direction from my superiors… I called stockman. Stockman gave me Tyler. Tyler and his team gave me a renewed sense of “we can, we will, and it will be alright.” I must say, You have no idea how it felt; With my back up against a wall, and bids ranging from 70-100k to fix our simple mistake, agencies not taking the time to listen or confirm the actual scope of work… Tyler went to bat. Not only did the estimate and project completion get cut in half, most of the legwork was taken over in that moment. For the first time since this happened back in June- We felt secure, understood, and lead in the right direction. Would highly recommend to family, friends, or associates. Have already recommended them to co-workers, who have already had bids completed for their own personal residence's, while the work was still being completed at our property. The fun, charismatic attitudes of all parties involved definitely made this whole thing worthwhile. Thanks for the work you preform. We appreciate it ten fold.

Tyler Makstutis handled the extension of my driveway’s retaining wall, and he was fantastic—professional, reliable, and great with communication. He kept me informed every step of the way. I would definitely recommend Stockman and look forward to working with them again!

Stockman recently completed a patio for us that involved pavers, steps, and a wall. From our initial discussions with them, we were glad they listened to what we wanted, and they provided information that improved on our vision. They delivered a detailed work plan outlining what was to be done along with a detailed cost. Once the work began, we were again impressed with the skills and thoroughness of the on-site two-person crew. Like many projects, site conditions arose where decisions had to be made. The crew informed us of the conditions and explained the options available, which allowed us to make informed decisions. At the end of each day, the crew cleaned up the work area and cleaned the street, which we’re sure the neighbors appreciated. Even though rain caused several non-workdays, they completed the project in what we felt was a reasonable time. We also liked that a supervisor stopped at the project several times to observe and discuss progress with the crew. We are extremely satisfied with the final product and highly recommend Stockman.

The guys at Stockman were very professional and did great work! Going into the project I wasn't sure what the best solution for my wall would be, but Kevin gave a great recommendation that was also affordably priced. Through the project I was given updates on anything they did along the way. I would highly recommend working with them on your next project!

I really enjoyed working with Scott, Tyler, John, Joe and the team, they are professional and responsive. Tyler in particular is the best, he always tells the truth as it is, never gave me any impression that my money is spent perfectly on point. He made sure I had every questions answered, including the building permit, so I can build the gravel pads ready for my dream shed and green house and have my turf repaired in time for the spring. Stockman is a great company to work with, I have had terrible contact experiences before, so I know they won’t disappoint you!

We bought a home that came with a huge and leaning retaining wall. Stockman was one of 10 companies we had out for quotes. From the moment we met with Tyler it was a no brainer that we would choose them to do the job. From start to finish the process was seamless. Tyler kept us updated every step of the way. Kevin came out frequently to oversee the demo and build of the new wall. All of the men who worked on our job were kind, professional and super hardworking. We’re blown away by this experience and would recommend Stockman to anyone (and will be using them again in the future!).

It was a year ago that we met Tyler at the Pittsburgh Home and Garden Show. All we knew is that we wanted a fire pit and patio built into our "little" hillside. Tyler and Stockman scheduled an actual appointment at the home show instead of promising a call back, and then they followed through with a home visit on-time. After surveying the space and discussing options, we agreed to get a professional design from Stockman, and we fell in love with it. Kevin and Christian were tasked with making the magic happen and Scott was our site manager. One problem - as we started the digging and placing materials, the terrain caused a few challenges with our initial design. Then as we saw things coming together, our "wants" changed some. Scott, Tyler, Kevin, and Christian were phenomenal to work with. It was very collaborative from everyone with design ideas, suggestions, material options, etc. Our Stockman Team was a real partner with us, and we felt pricing was very fair, even with multiple change orders. Kevin and Christian were outstanding with their quality of work and also in how they interacted with our 3-year old, who loved watching the big machines! We love our new "fire grotto" and it's pretty cool knowing it is one-of-a-kind.
