Excellent experience working with Northwood Tree Care. They know their stuff, care about tree health, and do a great job communicating. Will use again.

If you love your trees, these are the people you want taking care of them.

The evaluation was incredible, they took their time answering all my questions and not only looked at the tree I called about, but went through my whole property giving me a wealth of additional information. They came up with a comprehensive proposal with honest advice about what needed done when.

As for the work itself they were very communicative, came when they said they would, and did an incredible job with cleanup.

it's always a pleasure to work with people that love what they do and are good at it.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars. I love our trees. They were a big draw when purchasing our home. I wanted my daughter to have a tree swing and a tree house. I wanted to be able to enjoy our backyard to the fullest. So when searching for a company to perform necessary maintenance, Northwood Tree Care absolutely stood out. Arch is dedicated to preservation in a business where the big money is in destruction. He pointed out issues I hadn't even thought of and saved me a lot of money and headache in the long run. And most importantly, he saved my trees.

Working with Northwood was a breath of fresh air. Arch is a professional: great communication, tidy appearance, friendly, punctual and knows his stuff. Even better, he's certified in his work and cares about the health of your trees.

He did some reduction on some overgrown trees of ours - removing dead wood, reducing the overall size. He walked us through everything he was going to do and why. We're thrilled that at the finish, the trees are every bit as beautiful as they were before, just a bit smaller and healthier.

We've already got plans for additional work in the spring, and he's made it super easy for us by scheduling to call us in March to discuss.

Knowledgeable, willing to share their expertise. Excellent communication when storms kept them working on emergencies and had to reschedule planned work. Full range of services - soil analysis, amendments, correct pruning and education on the whys and where’s. Suggestions of native tree plantings and able to source and plant for me. I am new to area and researched various companies. They are head and shoulders above the rest. Highly recommended.

We were kept apprised several times of the scheduled day for our tree work. The owner, Arch, couldn't be more helpful or accommodating. His "love for trees" is quite apparent. He educated us on our trees. They totally cleaned up after they were done with their work. Our yard looks so much better.

Archie and his crew once again worked professionally and made sure to keep us informed of the health of our trees and what we could do moving forward to care for them. They made sure we were satisfied with the work and spotlessly cleaned up before leaving.

Arch and his crew are very impressive. They are not your typical hack and slash tree removal place. Arch combines a love and knowledge of trees with an awareness of what can happen when they get older -- as some of my trees have. When they come to remove and prune trees, they actually climb them and use techniques I haven't seen before. These techniques seem modern to me. They are very careful about the surrounding environment -- very safety conscious. They are actually a pleasure to watch work. I've discussed future work with Arch including the planting of new trees to replace old ones that had to be removed. He actually discusses things like how the tree should be properly planted and safeguarded against deer -- and he actually takes soil samples to make sure the right tree is selected. I am very happy he is there to help, moving forward. Thank you!

We hired Northwood Tree Care to prune a large Silver Maple that we loved but wanted to eliminate any danger of fallen limbs. After careful research we knew we wanted certified arborists who would do what was in the best interest of the tree while making it safe without unnecessarily cutting off large branches. Archie thoroughly explained the tree’s needs and his team did a clean, fantastic job to take care of the tree. I would highly recommend them as opposed to a large tree cutting company just wanting to make a buck.

Arch with Northwood Tree Care provided excellent service to 3 trees on my property. Archie and the NTC team are all very friendly and knowledgeable, and the passion and skill they possess is evident in their work. We have several veteran oak and maples on our property and NTC communicated our plan care clearly and effectively, no extra BS...much appreciated!

We had Northwood trim and cable an old mulberry and a very large silver maple. They did an incredible job: their work was thoughtful and careful, and I’m so pleased that we were able to preserve these beloved trees in our small yard. They showed up when they said they would, the process was easy and hassle-free, the place was spotless when they left. They used only battery-powered and hand tools, and only fired up the chipper briefly a few times, so the whole thing was much quieter and less disruptive than I’d anticipated—I wish all the lawn crews working in our neighborhood were half as conscientious. I’d very highly recommend Northwood.

In two days of work, Archie and the team completed 4 tree removals, 3 trimming projects, cabled a massive maple 🍁 and cleaned up all the wood with precision and care. There was minimal damage to the grass/yard and talked through each stage of the work with us. True professionals who listened and made careful observations before recommending the best care option for each tree in question. Of the 4 local tree services that I have used, Northwood is far superior.

The crew was efficient and net, cleaning up everything after they were done. They did great work. We had some issues on the first date they were planning to do the work and were good enough to reschedule and come back out. I was also very pleased with the free estimate and evaluation they gave us and we were happy to be able to save the big, old tree in our yard.

ORIGINAL REVIEW FROM 2021: I couldn't be more pleased with the work of Northwood Tree Care. Arch Autenreith (owner) obviously loves trees, and that love shapes his whole business. He really knows his stuff. His attention to detail earned my trust immediately, and then his arborist skills, expert staff, and (quiet!) equipment made the whole job a pleasure. I highly recommend him.

UPDATE 2025: A recent windstorm ripped two large branches from my backyard tree. Once again I hired Northwood Tree Care, and I couldn't be more pleased with their caring service. Both team members were extremely knowledgeable about not just my tree and how best to preserve and prolong its life, but also about my native garden and care for birds. What a pleasure. And I was allowed to keep the resulting chipped wood for my own garden use. Top notch experience!

The two person crew came exactly on time as scheduled. They removed very large broken dangling branches hovering over neighboring fences with precision and in a tidy manner.
Cleaned up and took more debris than contracted and area looked liked they were never there.
Highly recommend this company. I am having them come back in the Fall to trim up foliage over and around the home.
