Ed performed a check/tuneup of the furnace plus attached components (furnace filter, humidifier, etc.). He determined that the humidifier was not installed correctly and would be repaired at a future date.
My current and prior experiences with Ed are: 1) he is very personable, 2) he is very knowledgeable, 3) he spends the necessary time to ensure the heating/cooling systems are operating at peak performance.
He is a superb service person!

Jeriah was great, he was very courteous and professional. He did the maintenance check on my furnace and provided the reassurance I needed regarding the noise I heard coming from the furnace was not anything serious. Very efficient and kind.

The difference of years of experience matters. The guy that came out was nice, but when he started saying it might be this or it might be that and the estimate bill comes to be almost $1,200 a second opinion is needed. We still had to pay for a 2 hour service fee and nothing was done. We called someone else and he solved the problem and repaired in 20 mins. Stay away

They did a heating air-conditioning at an elderly gentleman I caretake for. They were respectful of his ailing condition. Done quickley and they left the furnace room cleaner THAN WHEN STARTED. They were on time, respectful. The job went well. I didnt pay, but I coordinated and it was easy and professional,. I would recommend them again,

Called for furnace check. Dan was knowledgeable and answered all questions. No attempt to sell anything. Would definitely recommend and use again. Will need new furnace in next few years and Boehmer will be my first call.

Robert is a very knowledgeable and professional HVAC technician. He knows how to get to the heart of the problem and fix it efficiently and perfectly. I should add that he has been to our home in the past for other issues and I can’t state enough positive things about him.

$800 to replace a thermostat and make it smart? This is what was said to me by the tech who came out. Absolutely not. This is why I declined the job and tried getting the tech out of my place ASAP. For reference, in my line of work, it costs $300 to take out a cataract. You think I’m gonna pay $800 for you to screw on a plate and wire a thermostat? Of course I knew the number was made up on the spot.

These people are con artists. I was quoted that a job to replace a thermostat with an Ecobee/Google Home was going to be around $800. That’s absolutely ridiculous. I may not understand wiring and HVAC units or even thermostats, but I am sensible. If they tried that with me, a 25 year old male, imagine what they’re trying on little old ladies who don’t know any better. Would not recommend this company anywhere! Plus, it’s amazing that you couldn’t give a quote for installing a smart thermostat over the phone. Probably to get a diagnostic fee out of me for simply popping off the thermostat that’s currently there to see the wiring. I could’ve done that and sent you a photo. Also, it is insanity that company policy is that we cannot provide our own thermostats, when y’all are extremely disorganized about pricing of your own.

The person who I actually went to gave me an upfront rate of $115 to install a thermostat I bought at Home Depot. That’s reasonable. I do not recommend this place at all! Con artists!

Antonio from Boehmer came to take a look at my furnace. It had stopped working twice in the last 2 weeks for 24 hour periods.
Antonio did a very thorough search of the problem. He did all the maintenance on the furnace and said my furnace is in good shape and should work better.
Antonio was on time and very polite!

We’ve worked with Boehmer a few times and have had great service with each experience. Rottley in particular helped us out of a potentially emergency situation and we’re extremely grateful for the help. Will continue to choose Boehmer and will gladly recommend.

We’ve been using Boehmer for 30 years and we’ve always dealt wiith competent, honest technicians and my most recent experience is no different. Robert was able to identify the problem with our furnace and give us our options for repair or replacement very quickly. I highly recommend Boehmer Heating and Cooling

Robert did an awesome job! He figured out and fixed the boiler problem with no problems. He was very nice and professional as well. Give him a raise! Boehmer installed my boiler 13 years ago and we hadn’t had a problem until now. Robert explained what went wrong and answered my questions. Other than this minor wear and tear problem, it’s still a great working boiler. Would recommend

Service was comprehensive, and the technician was great. He explained what could potentially be an issue in the future, though right now all is copacetic. We have the maintenance contract and that gives us piece of mind to have our boiler assessed every year.

Our technician, Rotley, was pleasant enough. He checked out our system and diagnosed our issue as a bad gas valve. We were quoted about $1,300 to get this replaced. They were also going to have to order the part and I wasn't given an idea of how long this would take to receive and install. I should also add that as Rotley was filling out forms on his phone, one of the prompts had him check our system's air filter. He opened the filter housing and took a peak inside with his flashlight and said to me "You should replace this filter soon." The only problem is, the filter was brand new...like fresh out of the package brand new. I had replaced it 2 days before this call and attempted to use my furnace. That is how I discovered it wasn't working.

We went with a different company that diagnosed the exact same issue (faulty gas valve) but they replaced it the same day for about half the price.

I was also told by our technician that furnaces last 10-15 but a quick google search, as well the technician from the company we ended up doing business with, both said they typically last between 15-20 years. I know there can certainly be variation in professional opinion, but it does make me question if this might be why Boehmer wanted to set up an appointment to give me an estimate on an entire new furnace.

My recommendation would be to get a second opinion if you put in a service call to this company. It might be another $90-$100, but for us, it saved me about $600 in the long run.

Sean was punctual, professional, courteous, and forthcoming. He took time to explain what he was doing and what my options were going to be based on a series of answers i provuded from the excellent questions he asked.

He and Boehmer are top notch all the way!

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!

We hired Boehmer to do a check on 2 furnaces at one of our rental properties. The technician came out, and did some fiddling around. Next thing I know he’s calling us and telling us to even address the issue, we would need a $500+ igniter installed. We paid the $500+ on the spot. About an hour later he calls to tell me that both furnaces are leaking carbon monoxide into our units, and we would need to replace both furnaces immediately.

Knowing the holidays are approaching, and understanding that one of the 1 furnaces was only a couple of years old, I decided it would be a good idea to get a second opinion. The second company went over, fixed the faulty igniter that Boehmer had just installed earlier that same day, and then ran carbon monoxide tests. He told me that both units were working fine, and that it’s very likely that Boehmer was lying to us. He couldn’t fathom why anyone would tell us that the units needed to be replaced.

I am not posting this review anonymously. Anyone questioning this is welcome to call me or email me. I have half a mind to write complaints to the better business bureau and the PA attorney general, but figured this would be the best place to start.

Oh and last part the gentleman from the second company who came out told me he would have charged about half of what we paid to replace the igniter.

If you’re thinking about hiring Boehmer just don’t.

Boehmer helped my landlord out last year when our furnace went out in our rental and they helped us again today with the furnace in the house we just purchased. They are kind, attentive, and quick. We had the same technician, Robert A., for both occurrences and he is always pleasant and knowledgeable. Even with the snow storm we just had, he couldn't get his van up our hill (we live on a steep part of Polish Hill) so instead of canceling, he walked up over the hill in deep snow to get to our house. They offer service that cannot be beat and we will continue to use them in the future.

Always friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. Rabin was great in helping to make sure our system works well this winter. Offered a lot of information so that we better understand how things work. Definitely recommend.

Amazing that I called early this morning for service and had a technician by noon. They did our initial installation over 10 years ago. Ed, the technician was very professional and knowledgeable about our furnace checkup. Nice to see young folks getting into the business of repairs and installation. The receptionist was very kind, professional and willing to help . I would highly recommend this company.

This is the second review for a second service of installation of an air conditioning, compressor and system. Well organized. They let me know when they were coming. It's an interesting situation as an elderly man who's ill is living there. I spoke with him this afternoon when I checked on everything he wasn't even aware that they were there. They were quiet and respectful. They swept up even the spilled kitty litter that I didn't expect them to sweep up. But I certainly appreciate that in the laundry furnace room. Really fantastic service from start to finish. I am caretaking this gentleman. This is not my home but I would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs a furnace and air conditioning installed. Thank you guys for a wonderful job!

I had some work done on a furnace at a property that I manage. I had never done work before with Boehmer but they had good reviews and so I took a chance with them. They did the job fine. They came when they said they would all of that was fine. I’m giving them three stars because although they did the work adequately, they weren’t friendly at all. The two girls that I spoke to in the office and even the technician. They were all certainly professional for sure, but not friendly at all. I would say the girls in the office are borderline unfriendly. Not rude and not mean, but definitely not engaging and hospitable and willing to be helpful. So I would say this company was a satisfactory in performing their duties, but I would personally call someone else next time.
