I had my roof replaced with them. Zachary was responsive to all the questions and made multiple visits to help with clean up the site and answer all the questions I had.

It has been 3 months now and l am starting to see a number of problems. I called them a few times and they are not responsive. I am seeing multiple issues related to my gutters that they said had been fixed. I also saw a lot of debris in one of the easily accessible gutters. I cannot see the state of the other gutters.

Edit: The review made a difference. They came back and cleaned out all the gutters that. Fixed the pitch of the gutters and caulked them. So far I have not seen any issues since. They spent a good part of a day addressing the issues that should have been addressed during the initial install.

Bailey was very helpful and Dan was a decent salesman. Dan gave us a lot of information and was straight forward. I appreciate that the owner has invested in decent software for the salesmen to can give the customer a price the same day. They portal is really awesome too!
The issue I did have was... Our job was scheduled on a Monday. No one showed up, no phone call from the dumpster rental, no call from the office, no e-mail, nothing. I had to contact the company.
That was poor customer service and sloppy.
When I called and spoke to the office they said it was due to weather. It was sunny and warm that Monday.
On Tues, The crew did show up on but the weather was even worse than Monday. It took 2 days for our roof to be completed. It poured Tuesday and Wednesday. The excuse that I was given by the office was lame. I would have appreciated if someone would have just told me they dropped the ball on scheduling the dumpster and crew. If I am wrong about this suspicious they why did the dumpster rental company call me at 530am on Tuesday but not Monday?

I paid ($xx,xxx) for the job 3-4 weeks in advance. I deserved more than a sad excuse of crappy weather on a perfect fall day. I get things happen just be honest about it. My husband ended up wasting 8 hours of PTO time because the crew did not show up when they were scheduled to.
I hired local company expecting a local crew to work on my house. Instead I was sent a out-of-state subcontracted crew to do the job. I wanted to support LOCAL not a OUT OF STATE. I am sure though if the company didn't have to subcontract they wouldn't. My perspective this is a lack of transparency.
My final issue is... The foreman that stopped (for a whopping 5 mins. He never introduced himself to me. He spoke with my husband. He spoke with a crew and he left. Guy said he would be back to check the completed job but never did.
The foreman also had a small child in the front seat of his truck.
What reasonable responsible foreman would bring his child on a site to a job. I understand the child was in a vehicle. What if one of the roofers fell off of our roof and that child would have witnessed it? That kid would be traumatized for the rest of their life.

The crew did a good job on our roof. The they work together like a well-oiled machine. The teamwork that they showed the 2 days was truly remarkable. And they did it in the rain. Mind you

I hope this review is truly taken seriously and is used as a tool to help improve this company.

Chris was awesome! Couple issues came up with installation, but Chris handled them quickly and professionally and made things right! Garrett in sales was great to deal with a well. Thank you.

    UPDATE – 9 Months Later:
At first, the installation and communication seemed to go well, as I mentioned in my original review. Unfortunately, that changed with the first rainfall shortly afterward. Every corner of the gutters dripped, water leaked behind them, and during heavier rain, it completely overshot the system.

The gutter apron was installed incorrectly—screwed directly onto the top of the new drip edge from my recently replaced roof. This is not proper practice and has caused multiple issues. I’ve attached pictures showing the poor workmanship. I’m no roofer, but even I can tell this isn’t right.

Since then, I’ve had minimal contact from Doing it "Right". The few people I initially dealt with have all left the company, and any communication has been one-sided—ALWAYS initiated by me, with no meaningful follow-up or resolution.

I do not recommend this company. Sadly, I’ve learned the hard way and will never again hire a contractor that doesn’t use its own employees for installations.

I’ll update this review if Doing it "Right" ever returns to fix the poor installation. Stay tuned.

Honestly, don't know if they even deserve one star review. This company has been nothing but problems since day one which was last July 2025 and guess what roof still not completed as of January 27, 2026. I have had multiple conversations with a variety of employees and have had to be at home on so far 5 occasions for someone to come out---2 were no shows. They sent me certified letter threatening to take me to court because of non payment BUT the roof is not complete and problems are not fixed. Why would I pay for something not finished---cause once they get their money guarentee they will never return. To this day they take pretty much no responsibility for the ongoing problem of this project not being completed and they fully believe they are entitled to full payment which means they don't intend to take responsibility at all. Well I am not the one that didnt have employees do their jobs either fully or completely correct. I would never recommend this company and regret that I did use them.

We had a roof installed November 2024, it was never completed to the contract we have with doing it right. My husband has spent the past year trying to get them to come out and finish the contract work. They’ve given us the run around month after month. John Laskey, the GM, now claims the company was purchased by a new owner and all warranties are void. This is to warn any new customers and all the old ones, since this was the 2nd roof and 2nd home we had hired doing it right for, now both roofs are no longer covered under the warranty that doing it right claims to provide. I would not recommend this business to anyone. It’s been a nightmare working with them this time around. We previously worked with them in 2020 and had a great experience but things have changed for the worst. Buyer beware, they are dishonest, the yard was left a mess, and they do not fulfill their contracts!

We'd highly recommend doing it right roofing. They made the whole process pleasant from the very beginning, at the estimate appointment. We got multiple estimates, and we liked everything with doing it right roofing, from the people we encountered, the honest information given to us, the warranty, and the price. Although weren't the lowest estimate we got, used the best named products, with a great warranty for the price offered.
Matt Kelley and his crew came in, on time, & got right to it. Had it all down within 8 hours. Very fast, efficient, yet great work & our roof looks amazing. Cleaned up like they weren't even here.

I am beyond thrilled with my experience with Doing It Right Roofing Siding and Remodeling, LLC! Initially, I had scheduled my roof replacement with another company, but after speaking with Zachary Elliott, Sales and Installation Consultant at Doing It Right, I decided to get a quote from them as well. I’m so glad I did! Not only was their quote thousands of dollars less for the same work, but Zach was also incredibly knowledgeable and answered all of my questions with patience and professionalism.

I knew exactly what I wanted—a roof replacement using Owens Corning TruDefinition Duration shingles in Peppercorn, and a specific date for the job. Zach worked with me to meet both of these requests, and although there was a minor delay in follow-up communication, everything came together perfectly. Brianna Marutiak, the Administrative Assistant, was also very helpful in ensuring that I received the necessary information and coordinating everything for my project.

On the day of the installation, the crew of five arrived early and worked efficiently from 7:30 AM until 6 PM, only taking short breaks to hydrate. They laid down large drop cloths around the house, and although the dumpster arrived late, the team still cleaned up exceptionally well, leaving my yard almost spotless. Matt Kelley, the Field Supervisor, was amazing to work with, too. He kept me informed every step of the way, patiently explained technical details, and resolved any issues that came up quickly and professionally.

One thing I especially appreciated was the meticulous cleanup. The team even used a metal magnet to pick up all the nails around the house. Additionally, a dog gate that was accidentally damaged during the process is being replaced, as Matt insisted on making it right.

For those considering Doing It Right, it’s important to know that the financing they offer through Dollar Bank comes in the form of a credit card. Also, if you choose to pay with a credit card, Doing It Right has a 5% fee through their third-party payment processing group.

The entire team—from Zach to Matt, to the work crew—went above and beyond to ensure that my roof was replaced efficiently and correctly, all in just one day! I highly recommend Doing It Right Roofing to anyone looking for high-quality roofing work. Thank you all for an excellent experience!

4.5 Stars. 1st time customer but Doing it Right came with a few good reviews from others. Dan my salesman was top notch. Did not try to upsell me anything and even helped me carry a chair outside when someone stopped to pick it up.
The workers were prompt and started working quickly that first day, working long after darkness set it. The work was done well and efficiently. John, the project foreman was wonderful to work with. Overall I am pleased with the entire process. It was about 2 weeks from meeting to completion.

Some negatives were: The speed in which they start working demo some of my things were damaged (plants, garbage can), I didn't move some other things out of the way not realizing the scope of work. And had to move them after demo started.
Things were not returned to their original spots after completion, just walked away.
The computer system they use when you phone in or they call back is horrible. I could not understand Katie at all, she stated they use computer phone systems which almost turned me away before work even started. The process for first timers could be explained in a little more detail in my opinion. It felt like I needed clarification on too many things not addressed.
Overall the cleanup was decent but a lot was missed. Nails and fasteners are still being found over a month later. Garbage was left along my front wall (water bottles etc) and on top of my back porch roof. With this done later in the year I will have to hope for the best with my gutters that nothing was left in them to clog.

Overall experience was positive. Roof does come with a workmanship warranty which I hope I never need to utilize.
