I've had two estimators quit or been "fired" completing papers to start the work. Each time went without notice for weeks. The estimate always expires before we can finish fine tuning the details, so they want to send a new person out and start over. I'm done with them. Very poor customer service and communication. (Update: The 2nd estimator finally reached out on his own and told me how much they over charge to sub contract plumbing and HVAC. It's nearly DOUBLE the cost of the service!)

A pleasure to work with Dewayne to come up with plans to tear down old deck and build screened in porch. The porch came out amazing and we have been using it everyday since it’s been completed. Very good at communicating timelines and schedule changes due to weather.

I have done business with the owner of Renovate Memphis for many years. I constantly refer people to them because of their dependability and workmanship. Everyone I have referred sings their praises through the whole process and even more when the work is complete. You can't go wrong with Renovate Memphis!

They did an excellent job. When mistakes were made they were corrected. We had the unusual delays and it took longer than we hoped, but we are very happy with the result. Dwayne was responsive to our requests and concerns. We were not the easiest clients because we had no firm conception of what we wanted. So he was patient as we worked that out with his consultant.

Renovate Memphis did an awesome job working with me after a huge tree falling on a portion of my house, causing a lot of damage. Timely, very professional and even arranged an interior clean up after the work was completed. Definitely a stressful time for anyone and RM and Dewayne made the process easy and affordable.

Update: We had a productive meeting on 10/27 and are working towards an amicable solution. Will continue to update.

Key Points: our ongoing experience with Renovate Memphis has been and continues to be fraught with delays, poor communication, contract discrepancies, and numerous quality control issues. We continue to have to closely oversee the project and, frequently, feel we are the ones managing it. We hope to reach a resolution, but it's been a challenging journey.

Dewayne and his team at Renovate Memphis promised a "turn-key service" on their website, but our experience has been far from that. We engaged them for a major project and, unfortunately, we've faced a series of issues and frustrations.

Communication: One of the biggest problems has been the lack of communication. We were assured of regular updates, but these were sporadic at best, leaving us in the dark about the progress of our project for extended periods.

Work Delays: Our project was initially projected to take around 16-20 weeks. Unfortunately, it's now over 39 weeks and counting. Not only is this a significant delay, but it's deeply frustrating as our home has been turned into a construction site for much longer than we anticipated.

Inadequate planning: Part of the work delays were a result of permeating issues. We were never included in communication between the city and Renovate Memphis. After week's of delay - we called the city ourselves and were able to resolve all the issues and get approval in 30 minuets. Other planning issues include: leaving things off the budget like a toilet, severally underestimating the amount of drywall needed, being surprised we had a gas dryer when all client supplied materials and appliances were shared months prior with links to manuals and installation instructions.

Contract Discrepancies: There have been several discrepancies between what was agreed upon in our contract and the work that has been done. Notably, there were issues with materials like siding and crown molding that didn't match the original plans. Other contract discrepancies include having to pay extra to repair and replace wood rot when the contracted stated that all wood rot would be repaired, replaced and readied to be painted.

Quality Control: Multiple quality control issues arose throughout the project. From tile grout to flooring placement, insulation, and even small details like window's being sealed, we had to constantly identify and request corrections. We have a run of molding outside that does not match any of the other molding. The floors were installed incorrectly per manufacturer's instructions - we had to point this out and now have yet another delays as we wait for them to install them correctly. This has been a source of ongoing frustration.

Payment and Change Orders: There have been numerous instances where change orders were initiated without prior approval, and without clear disclosure of additional costs. We incurred unexpected expenses that were not part of the original scope of work, leading to budget discrepancies. Examples include: gutters removed and replaced and a portion of the roof replaced. There were additional cost that were promised to be covered, but then reneged. Other cost were never mentioned until a bill was sent - for example, when walking though with the project manager, he asked where we wanted outlets placed - it was only after the fact did we get a bill for all the outlets. He told us to add as many as we wanted that since everything was open and being rewired to add as many as we could possibly need.

Encouragement to Others: We urge others who have experienced or are experiencing similar issues with their renovation projects to review and report their experiences as well. It's important to hold contractors accountable for the promises they make and to share your experiences to help fellow homeowners make informed decisions.

Renovate Memphis is very professional and very affordable company. I had quote from other companies and they were quoting as high as 3 times. People of this company are flexible and will offer more ideas than even companies where a designer first comes to go through your requirements. To sum up working with Dewayne was a very pleasant experience wither getting bathrooms upgraded or installing French drainage system in the back yard.

Overall I've had a great experience with Renovate Memphis. They remodeled my guest bathroom, my kitchen and my living room. It started a little slow but the end product was great. My kitchen and bathroom are both exquisite. The after support was even better. I had appliances purchased AFTER the renovations were complete, Dewayne or a member of his crew came out and installed them for me almost immediately (wine cooler & microwave drawer). The team has gone the extra mile for me on more than one occasion. When upgrading my master bath (vanity & floors) the team painted and installed (custom built) a shelf/counter space. When installing my microwave we realized it didn't include a framing kit, his team made one for me out of extra cabinet pieces!

Overall they are a great team who do quality work. It's a plus that my pit bull loved them as well!

Conrad Construction is phenomenal! They did an amazing job with my bathroom project and I’ve been recommending them to everyone I know. My project stayed on schedule and the project manager kept me up-to-date on any changes. I had plenty of time to consider the proposal and I never felt rushed or upsold. The team was so respectful and beyond helpful. They were clean, considerate, and thoughtful about the practical details like a soft-closing door and where to put light switches and outlets that make sense.
