J & J were able to beautifully remodel a bathroom in my Victorian home that had not been updated (except for minor cosmetic repairs) since it was originally built. They were able to reserect it from a non functional state very quickly and with minimal disruption to the rest of the house. Their attention to detail and experience allowed them to return the bathroom into a fully functional and delightful part of my house despite all of the quirks hidden within an old home's surface. I am thrilled with the results and am happily working with them on additional renovations.

J&J is hands down the best contractor we have ever worked with. They completed a massive remodel and addition of our home, on time, on budget, and were engaged with all aspects of the projects. Did we have issues? You bet. Every project does, but when they popped up Joe and Mike were quick to identify and resolve them.

This past summer, J & J was out to our home to do a retaining wall and a complete new deck. The finished results are amazing. Our deck looks so good, our neighbors came over to check it out up close and personal. Our deck looks like it has been part of the house since the beginning. Anyone seeing our home for the first time would not guess it had not always been a part of the house. It looks like it belongs.
J & J did a wonderful job. The guys that came out were out there on time every day; advised us of any schedule changes and were extremely polite. They were out during the hottest part of the summer. We brought them out cold water every couple of hours and they could not have been more appreciative.
Our project manager kept in touch with us on a regular basis and returned all phone calls promptly. Everyone was polite, friendly and professional.
I would recommend them to anyone. If we do any more remodeling, they will be our first call.

My husband and I looked for a bathroom remodeler in Wheaton and came across J&J Construction. After meeting with Joe and Elaine we were sold on the company. They did a wonderful job in our master bathroom. The layout was awkward and outdated so Joe gave us a few different options to make it more fluid. They also were able to take out our existing jacuzzi tub that hadn't been used in years and replace it with a huge walk in shower! We are so in love with how it turned out! I can't wait to get him started on the kids' bathroom.

We hired J&J to update our master bathroom. Overall, we were pleased with the job process and the finished product. Mike, the project manager, did a good job as our liaison with the project's sub-contractors. We did have an issue with one sub on a redo of some electrical work due to some miscommunication on whether internal or external medicine cabinets would fit in the existing space. However, this was resolved to our satisfaction with the owner Joe. This was our only significant issue during the project.

J&J strengths lie in their showroom, project management and a large volume of work that engenders subcontractor loyalty and performance. The process of selecting tile, cabinets, fixtures, etc. was fairly easy due to the ability to see these products before selection. Also, J&J uses Kohler products which are good quality and abundantly available on the web. This helped us with the choice and price of fixtures beyond what was included in J&J's contract.

Mike, the project manager, does stay in touch with you during the entire process. The subs were for the most part professional, and minor sub issues were addressed promptly by Mike. J&J also offers a five year warranty which was a significant plus in our consideration of contractors. The project ran about a week longer than anticipated, but much of that was attributable to the inspection process and the electrical issue previous mentioned.

For folks looking for a company that does a lot of bathroom remodels, with a systemized approach to the project, J&J is a good choice. As an aside, we had previous experience with other contractors during the construction of our home and a major basement remodel. Therefore, we had a good basis of comparison between J&J and other contractors. I would certainly consider J&J for future remodeling work.

We've used J&J Construction for a number of different projects over the past 15 years. I really can't narrow down just one thing that I liked because, in all honesty, everything was great. The quote we received was the price we paid- no nickle and diming or hidden costs later on. The time frame was precise. Joe discussed our projects with us, in detail, to make sure we were getting exactly what we wanted and even made suggestions along the way that we never would have dreamt up. The construction team started when they promised, cleaned as they went, never leaving the house in disrepair, and they finished the projects when they said they would. The staff is incredible. They respected our home, always went above and beyond our expectations, and were extremely easy to work with, all around. It's privately owned, which means that your project is extremely important to them. You can always talk to someone if you have concerns or need anything at all.Best of all, we've never had any problems with any of the work that has been done, even after all this time. I recommend J&J to anyone who asks. You will love your experience if you use J&J Construction.

Our custom master and hall bath project marked our 4th remodeling project with J&J and just as with the other three projects this one went smoothly. Joe met with me at my house, to view the existing Jack n Jill bathroom and carefully listened to what we wanted to accomplish with the space. Within days Joe presented preliminary drawings converting the limited space into two custom baths.

When the project started Mario took over and covered every detail during construction to ensure we received the bathrooms we wanted. His skill in general carpentry and tile layout gave us the look we wanted and no detail was too small. In the end there is nothing we would change.

When problems came up (and they will with any remodeling project) Joe and Mario took care of everything and ensured we were satisfied. This is exactly why we keep coming back to J&J, I know they have my back and will do everything to ensure complete satisfaction not only during the project but for years to come in case the need arises.

Also I want to mention the work done in the back office by Elaine and Kayla. I know that it takes an entire team to keep a job moving smoothly and on schedule and both of them made this happen.

J&J Construction = professional; the best. We contracted with J&J to install a three season room over ten years ago - 20 x 16 (not a small room). The designers, workers, management - everyone we dealt with over the time it took to construct our room were absolutely fabulous. We have never had a positive experience like that since in dealing with any third party. We continue to enjoy our room, using it nearly every day, even in the winter. Newcomers to our house remark on it each time. The normal unexpected problems associated with construction were dealt with immediately and courteously. Some specifics: J&J replaced the siding on the entire rear of the house as the addition's color did not quite match the original. Also, the cedar interior ceiling was replaced so that no joints existed. My wife and I can't recommend them highly enough. Joe's team is no fly-by-night organization and we vouch for the quality of their product, ten years later. Our project may be viewed on J&J's website (white house, second page of photos).

We rate J&J as the best company we have worked with. They helped us with our remodeling project that included adding a sunroom and a bathroom, upgrading three of our bathrooms and changing the floors of our dining and living rooms to wood floors. When Joe came to talk to us about the project, we were so much impressed by his honesty, sincerity and knowledge that we did not even talk to any other contractor for a quote. Joe came up with a great plan for us and emailed the sketch immediately. Their work should be rated as outstanding. Mike, who supervises the projects, is meticulous, considerate, caring and brilliant. Our project was completed in time and our lives were not interrupted a bit during the project. We referred J&J to our friends and I know that they were very happy with their improvement project completed by J and J. Our daughter had her condo bathroom floors and walls upgraded by J&J. We recommend them very highly to anyone with a home improvement project in mind.

If you have any remodeling that needs to be done, look no further than J&J Construction. We hired them to build a deck, and we liked them so much, we then hired them to build a four-season sunroom addition with a hot tub. We were so pleased with how that turned out that we then hired them to finish our basement. Joe, the owner, is great to work with. He quickly addressed any concerns or questions that we had, and he always kept us informed as to the status of our project. Mike, the project manager, was great, too. He always returned phone calls quickly and answered any questions we had. Their work crew was always professional, friendly, and most important to me, respectful of my home while they worked here. A few years ago, I contacted Joe to run an idea by him (putting a washer and dryer in our master bedroom closet). He could have just taken my money and did the job, but instead, he pointed out why it probably wasn't a good idea to do it. If that doesn't show honesty and integrity, I don't know what does. If you hire J&J, you won't be disappointed!

We interviewed a lot of companies when we decided to remodel our master bathroom and J&J was simply the best! Joe and the whole crew were great to work with. We hired J&J to remodel our main bathroom, and we were extremely pleased with the process / the timeline, the people involved, and the final project. They run a very communicative, well-organized business. Joe and the team (Elaine, Brandi, Mason, and more) truly want the client to be satisfied. Joe has a firm handle on which quality products available in the marketplace that his company offers in order to deliver a timely finished project. He is knowledgeable about (and thus avoids) up-to-the-minute supply chain limitations that we have grown familiar with over the past couple years. About mid-way through our project, as we realized what a positive decision it was to work with J&J, we consulted / hired them to re-build our cedar front porch roof, which was rotten / water damaged. They conveniently laced that project in with our existing bathroom project, which worked out really well. We will definitely use them on future projects.

We recently completed a major home renovation project with J&J Construction , and overall, we’re incredibly happy with the experience. Our project included the addition of a new master bedroom and bathroom above our garage, converting the existing master into a loft space, and creating a new mud room and laundry room.

From the beginning, their process was very thorough and easy to follow. Joe, in particular, was fantastic to work with. He’s clearly experienced and extremely knowledgeable in his field. He had a clear understanding of the pros and cons of everything we were asking for and communicated them in a way that was direct (and yes sometime very blunt), but honest and easy for us to understand. We asked a lot of questions and he was always willing to answer without hesitation or impatience.

One of the parts of the project we were most anxious about was the selection process for fixtures, tile, colors, etc.. But honestly, that ended up being one of the smoother parts of the experience. Elaine was a huge help! She made what could’ve been a stressful experience surprisingly enjoyable.

In terms of pricing, while J&J surely isn’t the cheapest option, we found their approach to pricing and change orders to be completely transparent and fair. I credit much of this to their committed use of the "Buildertrend" app. Everything was clearly communicated, and we never ran into unexpected costs or surprises that weren't previously discussed or forecast. You definitely get what you pay for, and in this case, that meant not just a quality finished product but a quality experience as well.

Like most large projects, it wasn’t without a few bumps in the road. The company went through some team changes during our project which did result in a few hiccups in both communication and execution. I'll admit it was frustrating at times, but Joe was very receptive to our concerns and worked closely with us to address and resolve the issues. At the end of the day, his commitment to making things right really stood above the issues we faced.

In the end, we’re thrilled with how everything turned out and would absolutely recommend J&J Construction to anyone looking for a high-quality, professional, and service-oriented contractor. J&J remodeled our hallway bathroom and master bathroom at same time, the work was clean and on schedule. The new bathrooms with new tile, cabinets, bathtub, walk in shower, and LED lighted mirrors look amazing. The J&J team were clean and always left worksite organized and even had time to let our dog outside. Our home remodel with J&J was a great experience from start to finish. We never thought we would get through our project without long delays or unexpected costs, but J&J took care of everything within our timeline and budget. The owner and staff are friendly, professional, and attentive. We had two projects: remodeling a bathroom for accessibility and creating a new laundry room from underutilized space. There was a delay between booking our project and the start date, due to long waits for materials, but we appreciated that they did not start demo until they were ready to go. They quoted 6-8 weeks of work and finished in 8. The J&J staff person who did most of the work on our home was Mason. We were so impressed by the quality of his work and also how friendly and kind he is. We will definitely use J&J again in the future.
