Honestly, probably the best designer and most creative problem solver I have met. Bob is very gifted in his ability to see things spatially and to find solutions to problems encountered in the field.

Bob and his team are a pleasure to work with. I have used them for three projects and their attention to detail is top notch. They do truly beautiful work and I look forward to working with them again.

Berriz Design Build Group has completed several projects for us: master bath and master bedroom renovation, kitchen and family room renovation, addition of large front porch, replacement of deck with two terraces, and extensive landscaping.

The level of customization and design creativity are exceptional. Workmanship is done to a high standard. The owner has special ability, the best that I have experienced in this type of work, to translate customers' wants into practical solutions.

We hired Berriz Design Build Group to do numerous projects. My Wife and I contracted Berriz Design Build Group for a deck patio project north of $200k on October 1st of 2020. At this price premium there is an expectation of not only quality but timely, professional service. To say Bob Berriz of BDBG fails miserably on the latter would be a gross understatement.

To start Bob required a hefty down payment with the agreement that this project would be delivered by the end of the calendar year (December 31st 2020). After the entire month of October went by without even an email, I reached out prior to Thanksgiving to inquire about the delay and Bob began what I would come to realize was an elaborate web of excuses, lies and incompetence. To cut to the chase, no one showed up on site until February of 2021 and as we sit here November 12th of 2021 we are still not even close to being done (Day 407).

After a few weeks of work in February, Bob and his crew disappeared until April. Again, Bob laid on the excuses thick, but when we asked him for documents of his correspondence with the County (his excuse for what was causing the delays), he would conveniently forget, promise “next time”, or change the subject all together. Frustrated with the lack of professionalism and a concrete plan, we asked Bob to furnish a project plan that would give us a sense of when this effort would complete and asked for a revised payment schedule given his inability to manage the project effectively. Again, the excuses and the tangled web of nonsense ensued. Similar to the first time on site, Bob and his team were around for a few weeks and then disappeared until late June. By this point, the grill and pizza oven that we purchased for the outdoor kitchen had been in boxes for six months. When they were finally opened and installed, damages to the grill were discovered. Given the time lapse, we could not return or exchange the equipment. To this, Bob took no responsibility and blamed us for not utilizing one of “his guys”.

After refusing to pay anymore installments, Bob gave his word that things would get back on track and his team would focus on my project. For a few weeks, I thought we had real change and then it all came crashing down when we failed our electrical and gas inspections. What was supposed to be a small misunderstanding with what had been previously submitted to the county has now taken 5 MONTHS and counting to rectify. This failed inspection was prior to July 4th 2021 and needless to say, no one has been onsite since. I again have asked for correspondence with the county, phone calls to get updates anything to be treated with respect but nothing.

Given Bob Berriz has not responded to a single text, email, phone call, since September of this year, i will continue to post here with updates until the project is complete (Day 407).

We used Bob to remodel our entire home in Arlington, Virginia and couldn’t be happier with the results! We have an older 1940s home that hadn’t been updated since then and Bob somehow gave us a new house that look like it’d been this way all along. Working with him was such a great time and our project was done quickly and to a super high quality. He would suggest things along the way that we hadn’t thought of that were much better than our vision. All of the crews he had on our job site were incredibly professional and the best at what they do. We have a few projects we’d like to tackle in the future and we will definitely be using Berriz Design Build Group!

Bob Berriz and his team were excellent to work with over a series of home renovation projects. We started with a major deck and landscaping project that went flawlessly. Bob was creative and very helpful in the design phase and then executed the build phase on time and to specifications. We were so pleased with Bob’s quality of work that we turned to him a few years later to renovate our basement. Again, we had and excellent experience. A few years later we renovated bathrooms, wood floors and our kitchen. It was critical that this project be completed so we could celebrate Thanksgiving at our home. Bob ensured the project was completed on time and the kitchen is beautiful. All the experiences were great ones. We have recommended Bob to many friends and all have enjoyed similar experiences.

Bob took our drab, aged kitchen and opened it up with an award winning design! He entered our kitchen won the regional contractor of the year award for kitchens. A true pleasure to work with, top quality work and reliable crews. This is definitely the heart of our house. Thanks Bob!

Wonderful to work with. We’ve used Berriz twice once for a basement remodel and the son’s time for kitchen/living room/bathroom remodel.

Ryan and the team at Primus did a great job on our drywall and painting project. The work was clean, detailed, and finished on time. Ryan was easy to communicate with and made sure everything looked right before wrapping up the job. The walls and paint came out smooth and professional. Enjoyed having them work on my house they were quick and fast. I had a sliding glass doors put in so I may go to my deck in stead of walking around to get to my back yard. Excellent work on time keep there word. Thank for helping me out. I would refer them to all people.

Backyard gazebo roof-floor-fence: Ryan came highly recommended and I can honestly say that it was best thing that happened to me. I wanted to use different materials and methods of construction. He was very attentive and patient making sure that he understood what needed to be done and how I wanted it. Ryan and his crew saw my vision.

Ryan removed old remnants of a fence and installed a beautiful new wood one- he came right away and was finished in about a week. He also installed a partial section of wood fencing and a new gate for my mother's yard. Good quality work.

Hired Ryan to repair the foundation of my garage.which required carpentry, masonry and painting. Ryan did a great job. He communicates well, is easy to work with and timely.
