Josh Martin came to our home and explained our options in detail. We selected the boiler and install date. The installation team was on time and very professional. We love our new system and the excellent service provided by Wood’s Heating Service! I highly recommend them!

3 years ago I had Wood’s install a much needed, more efficient boiler. It was such a great experience, that I called my sales rep, Josh Martin(still had his number in my phone!), to inquire about a new central AC system. He came to my house and showed me my options. Within in 2 weeks, the always courteous, professional teams showed up as scheduled…the duct workers, the HVAC technicians, and a couple of electricians. They all worked like a well-oiled machine. Two days of work, and my house is cool as can be. Would recommend wholeheartedly!

Woods went above and beyond when we needed a new boiler installed. Josh Martin came to our home and answered all our questions and concerns. The removal company and the installation team were courteous, neat and respected our home. We are more than satisfied.

Arthur and Mike we great to deal with when our boiler needed replacement. They made sure to squeeze us in as an emergency install and got it done quick. They called to check in during the process and followed up once complete. Everyone at this company is very kind, knowledgeable, and willing to help. Highly recommend them!

Woods went beyond my expectations. There was a manufacturing defect in a hot water heater installed a little over two years earlier. The hot water heater was under warranty. I fully expect to be the one who made the claim under the warranty. Instead Woods stepped in and advocated on my behalf ensuring the manufacture honored its warranty and beyond. I wish all companies operated with the integrity and service of Woods

My wife and I live in Cumberland and have been Woods Heating customers for many years. We have always appreciated their good service. We decided to replace our central air unit this summer and called Woods and one other company for bids. Josh Martin, the Woods Representative, came to our house reviewed our needs, presented us with several options, and answered all of our questions. We decided to proceed with Woods because we had trouble getting the other company to call us back. Woods delivered and installed everything within 2 plus weeks. The installation took 3/4 of a day and everything works great. Photos of the outside Trane Condenser and the inside unit are below. Thanks to Josh Martin and his team for doing a really nice job.

We could not be more pleased with the service provided by Wood's. We installed a brand new ducted heat pump for our unit and another heat pump system for a rental unit. From the start, Josh was communicative, professional, and knowledgable. We worked closely to design the perfect system for us! Once it was time for installation, their team was skilled, kind, and respectful. As we adjust to our new heating system, Wood's has been very kind and responsive to all our questions. I highly recommend Wood's.

We have been a customer of Wood's Heating for over 20 years. They came to do annual furnace cleaning & noticed our oil tank had a small leak in it & needed replacement. Josh came to our house & explained our options & costs/financing. He was very thorough, no pressure & scheduled the install quickly. The install team came & introduced themselves & explained what they were doing. Once install was done, they reviewed everything with me. Everything went smoothly & we're very happy with our new Roth tank. Great service from Josh & the install team. They all did a great job. Highly recommend Wood's for new oil tank!

We couldn’t be happier with the entire experience of getting our new heat pump installed by Josh Martin and Woods Heating. From start to finish, Josh was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly patient in walking us through every step of the process. He explained our options clearly, answered all our questions, and made sure we felt confident in our decision.

The installation team at Woods Heating did an outstanding job. They were efficient, respectful of our home, and paid close attention to every detail. You can tell they take real pride in their work everything was done right the first time, and they made sure the system was running perfectly before they left. Our home feels more comfortable than ever, and the improvement in efficiency is already noticeable.

If you’re considering a new heat pump or any heating/cooling service, I highly recommend Josh Martin and Woods Heating. Exceptional service, trustworthy people, and great results. Thank you for making this such a smooth and positive experience!

Woods Heating has been my go to company for the past 40 plus years. It is an exceptional company with knowledgeable workmen. They took their time to explain the workings of our new furnace plus central air for next summer. Clean up was fantastic! They did it all. I just recommended them to my neighbor. If you hire them, you will not be disappointed.

We switched to Wood's after having an oil leak from service from an other oil company. The next company had low prices, the oil burned dirty and sent soot into our home. That was 20 years ago and I have been with Woods since. When we have an issue they show up. They are polite and knowledgeable. They show early morning weekend or weekday. They do cleaning in spring and have a convenient 12 month payment plan. Once concerned by low on fuel, I called, our scheduled delivery was in 3 days but was moved up to the next day. Wood's gives me piece of mind. My only issue is the cost of fuel, which is sometimes on the high side, I've called in the past and they have given me a credit. I just wish the pricing for all full service oil companies were more transparent.

I’m totally frustrated and disappointed with the response I received from Woods. However, I do want to make it clear that the technician they sent out was exceptional. The problem was the total disregard for my issue! On 11/20/23 I contacted Woods to request they send a technician out because the propane in one of my buildings was not working. The technician arrived that day in after approximately and hour he informed me that he had to bleed the line of air. When I asked how that happened he told me I must had let the tank run out of propane. I told him that I didn’t think that was possible since I am on automatic delivery. He stated that since Woods let the propane run out there would likely be no service charge. In Dec. I received a bill for the service charge. I wrote an inquiry on their web page and received no reply. A few weeks later I called and spoke to someone in the office and she stated that someone would contact me. In Jan. I received a voicemail stating my bill was overdue. I contacted the office and asked that someone contact me since I had a question regarding my bill. That same day I received a call from (Larrry?). He stated that he reviewed everything and determined that the problem was not from running out of propane. I attempted that between the time the last propane was delivered I ran out of propane so after it was filled and I attempted to use the heater there was air in the line requiring the technician to bleed the line. He insisted that it didn’t run out and that was not the cause of the problem. So here are the facts. On 3/23/23 21.3 gallons was delivered. I didn’t receive another delivery until 10/16/23, 44.2 gallons. That was SIX MONTHS later. On 11/20 I called for service. I never used the building from 10/23 - 11/20. Clearly the technician was right and WOODS let the propane tank empty. So now I am stuck paying for a service call they created!"
On 2/2 I received a call from Woods from the customer service manager. He was very polite and stated that there was a misunderstanding/communication and the service charge would be removed. So thank you for getting back to me and adjusting the bill.

Generally service is quite good, but their ceiling price program is a big disappointment. My ceiling price is $4.569/gal. I just checked about 15 other RI home heating oil suppliers and the prices are between $3.80 and $4.00. This difference can amount to well over $100.00 per normal delivery. I would have been better off paying market price. This will be corrected with another company at the end of the contract term.

I HAVE BEEN A CUSTOMER FOR 12 YEARS. I smelled a burning smell in my basement today. I checked the paperwork on the boiler to see when the LAST CLEANING was. It was 2 YEARS AGO, even though I pay a service agreement, which includes a cleaning, every year! I called the office and asked why I didn't get a cleaning last year even though I paid for it. I was told because I didn't call and ask for a cleaning! I said someone knows when it's time to send me the bill for the cleaning, how come no one schedules a cleaning when they send out my bill? No good answer on the other end! 😡 She said she could schedule an appointment for tomorrow between 12:00 and 4:00. I said I had a doctor's appointment at 12:00, so could she call service and ask if they could do it after 1:30. She said no, the earliest is Thursday afternoon. AFTER NOT HAVING A CLEANING LAST YEAR ... HOW IS THAT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE????? 😡

Their telemarketing system called 2-3x daily to make sure we renewed and would tell us we were past due, when in fact we simply did not renew the monthly billing program

Been with Woods for a couple of years since purchasing my home. Had been good until last fall. Never came out for my “next years boiler service is free” deal. Just straight up never came.
In the meantime I had been talking to Arthur about converting to gas, with the same company.
What do they do? Hit me with a surprise delivery at the end of March, KNOWING I was looking to convert in the spring.
So I held off. Not losing a grand worth of oil over it. I called to explain and they did provide the free boiler service they were supposed to to make up for it, and offered to take me off any automatic deliveries so it wouldn’t happen again.

Well they just came to fill me up. I called at 1/4 of a tank as instructed, and I budgeted based on going rates in the state. Too bad Woods is WAY higher than the average. What works out to $350 per fill higher.

I gave 2 stars because the service guys have been awesome, and even Arthur was respectful and explained well in the conversion evaluation.
But their inflated rates, less than kind customer service over the phone, and sneaky deliveries….are just not worth it.

I contacted Wood's after my previous supplier raised my propane rate from $4.20 to $7.60 a gallon. It turns out that Woods as well as several other local suppliers have some undisclosed affiliation with my prior supplier, making them averse to taking on a new account without the blessing of my original supplier. One of Woods sales agents wasted 10 days of my time, claiming that he was working with my supplier to apparently disentangle Wood's from the prior supplier. Over the course of 10 days, he failed to get back to me on three occasions as he promised. I finally changed to another supplier after the last time that he failed to get back to me. What a difference dealing with my new INDEPENDENT supplier !!

I moved into this house in Summer of 2021 and had my HVAC system tuned up by Woods in Fall of 2021, having signed a two year service contract with them. The oil baseboard heat has never worked great but I thought it was just an inefficient system. I had the RI energy guy come out for an evaluation earlier this week and he told me that there is something wrong with the boilers as the system should be more efficient. I had Woods come out and turns out THEY messed up my system by turning off the circulator in Fall of 2021. The repairman admitted this to me. So now I have paid probably thousands of dollars in extra oil (to Woods!) because they made my system far less efficient for almost two winters. Obviously, I am moving to another oil provider and would advise to never use this company.

UPDATE: Someone from Wood's called me after I posted this review. The woman repeated again and again that it was my fault that I had not "alerted them." Now that my system is working properly, I am positive they cost me thousands in extra heating oil. My heating oil lasts now! Regarding not alerting them, they messed up my system before I ever used it. I had no idea how much more oil I was using than I should have been and it never occurred to me that Wood's is so incompetent (or scamming me) that a "tune up" could wreck my system.

I don't recommend this company. While I was a customer, I encountered multiple problems with them. Foremost, their prices were always high (as compared to other local oil companies). Secondly, their customer service is poor. The people who answer the phone always sound irritated and like they hate their job. Related to that, I had to call a few times for boiler/oil emergencies and they did nothing to help. Their attitude was "that's your problem not ours." The ONLY positive thing I have to say about them is that when service techs did come to my home, they were always very nice and helpful. I currently use Glow oil and I'm much happier with them.

They always charge you ceiling price when you have contract with them. So, stay away and find a fair/honest company.
Example: my neighbor and I got the delivery on the same day. Her heating company is Sunshine, and mine Woods. Both of us have service contracts. She paid $3.99 and I paid $4.95 per gallon.
I called Woods afterwards and the rep said that’s the ceiling price I paid and yapped about if the oil price goes up in the future I’d still pay 4.95. Well, I just want to pay fair price, now and the later. I do not care about the ceiling price which they always charge regardless.
    In summary, stay away.

STAY AWAY FROM WOODS! After having a contract (non-binding contract that can be terminated at any time) with them and telling them we wanted to terminate our contract and not receive any more deliveries from them because their prices are too high, they still show up and deliver an unauthorized delivery, and ultimately trespassed on to private property without our knowledge. Then they’ll take you to court for $800 knowing good and well they’re out here robbing people. Judging by the reviews, we’re not the only ones this has happened to either. So many better places to get oil from that aren’t sneaky and that won’t try to scam you!
