My boiler tank was leaking water. I called on a Sunday and they sent somebody immediately. Everything was replaced that had to be replaced very professional love this company recommend them to everybody they would never be sorry. The best of the best...

We had an issue with one of our zones. Tech Richard came out and was able to resolve the issue. One of our Nest thermostats was inoperable. I was nervous because he said he didn’t work with Nest units but he was able to figure what the issue was get heat back on in that area. Thanks for Richard being concerned enough to give the extra effort.

Sleazy crooks and liars. They took us for $1000, lying about our contract. We also bought a new furnace from them, which was our mistake. When we bought it they told us it had a lifetime warranty. Now they're claiming that it's a limited warranty that only lasts 20 years. UPDATE: Today they called and told us the limited warranty only lasts for TEN years, is pro-rated for the next ten, and covers almost nothing.

We're not with them any more, but if you do a little research online you'll find that my experience wasn't unique. Lots of people have been royally screwed by Petro, all over the place. Their business model seems to be based on lies and larceny. You'll find better prices and better service from an honest local provider.

After being with petro for years, an elderly. Aunt needed to move to assisted living. We needed to sell her home to afford her new living situation. When asking Petro about servicing her oil burner for the sale, I could not get them to budge one inch off a schedule. Not even for an old faithful customer. On top of that I was told that if we sold the house and terminated her fixed price agreement, we would be charged over $400.00. The agreement was going to be up in just over 5 weeks!

To add insult to injury, on the day of the inspection, a representative from Petro comes to the house to inspect the boiler for the buyers. They could come for someone who possibly would be a potential customer, but could not come for an old and faithful customer? In a word, sleazy!

Even better, the inspector and Petro representative both told us the flu needed to be replaced as original installers had not installed correctly and left a key piece out. Can you guess who those original installers were? Yup, you can't make this up! It was Petro. Good job, guys!

The service man came as scheduled and identified the cause of the leak, and then replaced the part. He was quick, friendly, and courteous. I was very pleased. This is why I really like Petro. They have the best service personnel.

This company should be investigated for price Gouging.

Please be careful, these folks will get you to sign a contract, deliver oil at reasonable market levels for several months, then they will jump your deliveries to the MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE BY THE CONTRACT. Even when prices go down from when you had previously paid MUCH LOWER PRICES, they will max out your deliveries and max out your payments.

Then with a snicker on the other end of the phone they will read your contract to you when you call to complain.

Ask to see their delivered cost which is required by their contract and THEY WILL NOT SHOW YOU because they are gouging you.

So many other oil suppliers, choose any other full service group. Just not them.

Petro is very reliable, they make sure the tank doesn't go empty, show up when they are supposed to (the technicians) or let me know when they will be late. Also have a budget plan - unfortunately doesn't help much due to sky high oil prices, but that isn't their fault.

Friendly, courteous gent came to "inspect" our house, since Petro was going to be our new provider (propane). Neat that he added a cell-based monitor on our tank. Petro and/or I can now "see" the quantity in my tank, remotely (phone app. for me). Very cool!

I can't seem to find the option for no stars, or negative stars.. so I guess I will have to reluctantly give them one.
By far one of the most incompetent companies that I have ever dealt with in any industry. Viking subcontracted them to come out and fix my dishwasher which is less than 6 months old. Was told replacement part would be in within 2 weeks. 4 weeks later, still haven’t heard anything. Made 7 separate phone calls and 2 emails, all of which I was ensured that a manager would get back to me - which never happened. Finally after a scathing social media message, I finally hear back from someone who says “I’m sorry.. We are no longer handling Viking warranties at this time”. Really???! You sent someone out to my house to look at it, knowing the entire time this was under warranty.. And sometime during then and now, you decide that you no longer wish to handle Viking warranties? On top of that, you don’t return calls / emails to inform me of this. This company is an absolute joke… do yourself a favor and use ANYONE BUT PETRO, they suck!!!!

I was a,Petro customer for 17 years. For last few years had to call to battle about how their pricing was high and even when oil prices were low they charged the locked ceiling rate. Finally I found Coan who's ceiling was 30 cents lower and has 24/7 exceptional service. No loyalty for retention. I advise all to do your due diligence and shop around.

With the uncertainty in the oil home heating prices this year, Petro was very willing to take into consideration that we have been long time customers of theirs and negotiated a fair price for the season. We are retired seniors and appreciate their willingness to work with us….

We came home from our daughters home for Thanksgiving. It was 13 outside and 52 inside. I called Petro and was told someone would be out by 12 midnight. In about 1 hour we received a call from Dave who was great and said he would be here in 45 minutes. He found out very quickly our thermostat was toast. He changed it out in 5 minutes and he was on his way. Dave was absolutely personable and very knowledgeable!

We have been using Petro Oil for about 4 years now and have nothing but great things to say about them. Their service people are always friendly and professional. Customer service works with me whenever it is time to renew our contract. I highly recommend the service plan.

I've been an extremely loyal customer for thirty years.
I recently ran out of oil last Friday. Called customer service and they informed me that someone would be out 5-7 hours later that evening with 10 gallons of oil.Waited the full 7 hours until service tech arrived with 10 gallons of oil. Full delivery came the following afternoon.
I pay extra for oil each year since I contract a price and am on AUTOMATIC DELIVERY, as well as an expensive service contract.
I should not have to call them for oil. I can call any other company for a delivery at a cheaper price. I never received a follow up call to apologize nor offered any compensation as many other oil companies do.
I will certainly be looking at other oil companies to service my needs in 2019.

The water heater was not heating the water. Service tech arrived on time for an evaluation. Part needed replacing. The following week the part arrived and was installed. The water heater is working fine.

You have always been there for me and my family. When I needed the budget plan you had one that I could afford. I am a single mom of 3 disabled children and a disabled sister. So, when I need the help with oil Petro was there to say here is a plan that I think it will work for you. I have been with Petro for 5 or 6 years and it is the best thing i ever did. I am mad at myself for not remembering the gentleman’s name who came to my house to get my heat/hw back on yesterday. He was extremely nice and knowledgeable and thorough. He listened to me ramble on about my heating system and was very receptive to what I was saying. He also gave me tips and more information on my furnace that I didn’t know about. He got my heat and hot water back running within minutes. I signed up with Petro because they are a large company and have a great reputation.

We were on a very tight timeframe to have our new heating system and hot water heater installed....and it was Christmas time. The entire staff was pleasant, professional, very responsive, and prompt! They got everything done for us...on time ....and did such a great job; the work was so cleanly done that I actually told them it looked pretty (I bet they don't hear that very often 😊).

We are installing a fence and needed to make sure the propane line underground wouldn't be an issue. The guy that came out was kind and courteous. He explained that since they didn't initially install the tank, there was no way to confirm where the line was, but he offered to move the tank to the side of the house and run a new line same day. Now we can get our fence installed without worrying about the line. I appreciate you guys!

Due to a value accidentally being left on, my 50 gallon propane tank emptied. I called customer service at 4:30pm on a Tuesday and they promptly explained the safety protocol to have the gas lines safety checked for leaks, and the tank refilled and the appliances checked for proper operation. They remained available throughout the process and made an emergency delivery the next day before noon. It should be noted that we do not heat our home with gas, so there wasn't a home heating emergency. Their response and promptness far exceeded my expectations.

Our 4 yr old furnace stopped working on a night that was six degrees out. We have a Petro service plan and called at 5:30 am. They told us someone would be out between 9:30 and 12:30. To our relief the repairman arrived at 7:30. He diagnosed the issue quickly, had the replacement part on hand, and had our heat working quickly. We were very appreciative.
