Southern Scapes exceeded my expectations! They were so easy to work with, and I got everything I wanted within my budget. Communication was excellent as they are very responsive. Just the nicest people ever! From the design to the ease of payment everything was excellent. I honestly cannot say enough good things about them!

Alex is my neighbor and I'd been watching his homes landscaping projects since they moved in and taking notes since his yard always looks fantastic!! We just had his company, A&S lay sod around our new pool and they did a fantastic job!! His crew worked quickly and efficiently and didn't leave a mess. Terrible customer service. We've been trying to get them to come out and fix an issue for months now. No followup, very disorganized.

Two azalea plants Jason planted last year died. I’ve been emailing Kathy for 3 weeks asking when Jason will be out to replace the plants. No response at all. Customer service is horrible and they’re obviously not guaranteeing their plants as they say. Very disappointing experience and will not use them again.

I’ve been using Bearcreek for many years now. They do an immaculate job! They are super professional. No matter how small the job or question is they treat it like it is important. I would highly recommend them for all your landscaping needs.

We used Bear Creek back in November 2021 to add a flat space to our yard, and have everything sodded. First of all, they did this project when it was pouring down rain. As a result the entire yard was not actually level because they had to drive their equipment in extreme mud. They came and took a look at it after the fact because we complained. They agreed it wasn’t flat and would fix certain areas. It never became flat, and we have tire divots in our yard from their tractors. Plus the sod they used was full of crab grass. We emailed and called multiple times with no response. Every time I see my yard I’m so disappointed that I decided to finally write a review. I wish their team would make it right since we chose to use our hard earned money on them.

Bear Creek did a WONDERFUL job on our huge backyard project! From start to finish, the entire team was so professional. The estimates were very detailed and the project was done on time!! We are customers for life!

Bear Creek took on a huge project for our entire yard/pool deck after our pool company left a massive mess. BCLD came in and took note of everything that was needed, listened to our requests, got a plan over to us that was very detailed and got straight to work. Within a couple of weeks our yard was transformed from the tragedy of the neighborhood to a beautiful lush yard with sod, trees, Belgard pavers for the pool deck, and new landscape lighting throughout.

Jason and the crew (inside and out) are great to work with and we loved everything they did for us so much that we now have them maintain our yard year round. Even months later we are very pleased with our decision on using Bear Creek.

We had a great experience with Bear Creek Landscapes & Design. They gave us a much better price on a custom grill than other companies offered on a grill kit. They also added a tree, weeded and re-rocked a great deal of our back landscaped area. We would 100% use again and recommend (and have already).

If you are looking for beauty, quality design, excellent installation and solid aftercare landscaping services, Bear Creek is the go to company in the counties surrounding Columbia, TN. We purchased a two year old home with 5.5 acres in Summertown in August of 2024. There was little to no landscaping on the property, the lawn was all weeds and badly rutted by run off from rain storms. Jason, Kathy, and Dane, along with office staff, and the hard working members of the landscape and irrigation teams knocked the two-phase project out of the park! In the fall of 2024, phase one turned a moonscape into a green paradise. They corrected the rutting, installed 14 zones of irrigation, and created several large gardens around the front of the house. They seeded the yard, applied straw and erosion mats to prevent erosion on the hilly areas. Within a month, was had a lawn of green grass. This spring, the grass popped beautifully, and the shrubs and trees are now just waking up from their winter nap. The Cherry tree bloomed and contrasted nicely with the green lawn and our home. We are waiting to see the Maples, Elms and Oaks grow their leaves, as well as several Crape Mertles. In March 2025, Bear Creek returned to complete phase two of the project, adding evergreen trees to the front yard and performed the same type of work on the remaining property, which was in bad shape following the construction of a four car detached garage. 20 additional zones of irrigation were installed. The scope of the work performed was very expansive, and it is the responsibility of the home owner to care for the new shrubs, trees, seed and sod once the team leaves the property. Bear Creek provided excellent written and detailed aftercare instructions, and although it might be a lot of work, you can take pride in the beauty of your project for years to come. Bear Creek is responsive, and extremely knowledgeable about the plants and trees they recommend. Designs are well thought out, and they worked with me to fine tune the designs to meet my expectations. I live on Summertown Highway, and I cannot tell you the number of people who have stopped in to compliment us on the transformation our property has undergone. In the long term, weed control (both pre-emergent and post emergent) is a must. Fertilization, aeration, and over-seeding is also a must to maintain the landscaping’ s beauty. Bear Creek will help you understand what seasonal work is needed to maintain your landscaping. As a retired professional, I have the time to do this, but if you are loathe to perform yard work, Bear Creek can recommend service providers to maintain the look of your landscaping.
