You suck, worse customer service ever!!!! Passed off to three other employees and told i could be put on a waiting list for next in line employee #4 who knew about trees and shrubs. They only person who could help, really???? BATES Nursery is the only Nursery I'll continue to spend my money at after 30 years. They have the best plant specialists in each area of their nursery, plus guarantee one year on outdoor plants....
Do better, try harder, never to suggest or return as a customers or referral. -
Hewitt is a great destination for any kind of plants you could want. The staff is great and always friendly. I love that they have given attention to rare plants over the last couple of years, and their prices are beyond reasonable.

Great customer service and selection. Healthy, and hardy trees and plants. I bought a couple large cherry trees from Hewitt’s, they came out and planted them and I look forward to the beautiful blooms each spring. My neighbors all comment on how beautiful they are and I’m sure those trees alone have gained a lot of new customers for Hewitt’s (rightly deserved of course!). Lifetime customer for sure.

Hewitt is the best around for plants. The staff is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. The plants are always in good shape and there’s so much to choose from. They also have Christmas trees, wreaths and garland when that time rolls around. We love supporting a small business!

While their website doesn't show their in-stock items, their customer support is excellent! I looked all over the Nashville area for a few ornamental grasses and couldn't locate them anywhere. I called Hewitt to see if they carried it before driving to yet another nursery and the woman on the phone was more than helpful. She not only located the items for me but she put them on hold for me until I arrived that day. These plants were even priced better than anywhere else that would've carried them! Never shopping anywhere but Hewitt for plants ever again.

Hewitt Garden center is an absolute gem! They have an expansive selection, super friendly and helpful staff, and a beautiful place to shop. Their cacti green house is one of my favorite places in Nashville. Definitely the best plant nursery around!

Hewitt is me and my 4 year old sons favorite place in Nashville — He loves garden centers and begs to go get a plant instead of a toy! Hewitt has spacious, beautiful grounds with an incredible selection of indoor and outdoor options. You could get lost shopping there’s so much to see. The staff is super friendly and helpful. In particular Janice, Taylor and Gabe have been awesome with helping us and very knowledgeable. I’m a newbie gardener and I’ve needed support which they have gladly given me! 10/10 recommend 🤎

I stopped by Hewitt on my way home from Nashville, and oh my goodness I'm so glad I did. They had some very rare and interesting houseplants on top of a good selection of outdoor plants too. The best part is that their plants look healthy! Also, I wish I could give bonus stars for their kitty cat, Pumpkin. She was very sweet. 🧡

I’ve always loved going to Hewitt! They have a lot of variety when it comes to both plants and decor. The Christmas decor has to be my favorite. Athena is also extremely kind and knowledgeable, so she can help you with any questions or needs you have.

We have hit up every garden store in the area, and Hewitt’s is the absolute best, hands-down! They are well-stocked, and always have the thing we are looking far, often at a much more affordable price! They often get the first shipments of the season, so when I was looking for Lentenroses in early February, I wasn’t surprised that they were the only ones around to have gotten them! ☺️ We sometimes go to Hewitt’s just to walk around the sprawling grounds, and admire all of the healthy, well-tended trees, shrubs, flowers, ogle at the huge supply of beautiful, designer-quality pots and planters and decor. Hewitt’s is the superior garden store in the area, without a doubt! ☺️

They have a wide variety of perennials, annuals, bushes and trees there in excellent condition. Their pot selection is GPS, too, but not cheap.

I’ve had a frustrating experience with this business. I purchased two trees in May to have planted by them ($1200 for trees + install). They said install would be 5-6 weeks, and at 6 weeks I had not heard from them to get the install scheduled, so I had to call to see where I was on the list. They made excuses about delays and then finally planted them a week later because I called them about it. One of the trees they planted lost all its leaves and died within 2 weeks. I’m not even sure if this was the same tree I purchased or if they did not properly care for the tree during those 7 weeks between when I bought it and when it was planted. I reached out to them after 3 weeks of planting as I was concerned about the tree dropping all its leaves.
I’ve reached out to them many times over the past two months trying to get them to discuss this with me, but they are very unresponsive to emails. I’ve sent many emails, and they kept brushing me off. And when I called to try to speak to someone, the woman who answered told me I had to email the tree lot, which I explained I had been trying to do and left my phone number for someone to call me back. They never did call me back. The customer experience is just not great here.
**Amending my review, as I finally received an email from them to provide a credit for the price of the tree that died. It’s a gesture of goodwill, but it’s still just disappointing that they finally replied to me the day I posted a review here. -
The best place in town for garden lovers! Got my David Austin roses from here and they are performing wonderfully so far!

Overall: best selection and most knowledgeable staff of all landscaping companies that I’ve found in Nashville
Pros:
-very friendly staff
-high varietal inventory
-staff go out of there way to help u, including put u in touch with another staffer who is more knowledgeable about a certain plant type or specific range/series
-I had purchased 4 plants (silver falls) that were selected based on the advice of one associate on a plant that was very low maintenance and required infrequent watering. Although I adhered directly to the prescriptive advice of the associate, my Silver Falls plants begin dying within one week of purchase. However, after going back to Hewitt and explaining my situation of how I did exactly as their store associate instructed me to do, the owner agreed to replace the plant for free even though their policy is all sales final. She realize that their associate had informed me on error and took the blame. This is a fantastic example of excellent customer service! Kudos to the owner because this small token of service has made me a Hewitt customer for life. -
Regardless your green-thumb level, you could spend hours enjoying the sights and smells and learning about the world of plants. Have Google and Google lens handy, and/or be willing and ready to holler at the many highly knowledgeable caretakers roaming the premises. All around Fair prices on above average specimens.

I purchased and planted 2 Crape Myrtles Spring 2020. Several months later they are in FULL BLOOM. The price was reasonable, service was solid and product far exceeded my hopes.
Fall 2021 - still very pleased. With very little maintenance, other then Spring pruning, they look good.

Updated review: I have been coming here for a while now, and I am never disappointed. The selection is always great. Today I got callasia repens pink panther and syngonium moonshine, along with a pot for each.

My first time here, and it is AMAZING. I've been to other garden centers in Murfreesboro and Nashville, and this one tops them all. Prices and selection are wonderful. -
The place has a horrible Monopoly and doesn't guarantee their plants. I spent $400 on a small tree. It lasted exactly 5 weeks. I was told to bring it back in and they harborist would look at it. I brought it back in the arborist looked at it and said it needed water. I took it home and watered it. It's now dead. Plus about as aggravating as some fellow that runs a cash register is really surly. All in all, your mileage may vary. If you arecafter petunias It's probably a nice place. If you're going to spend a lot of money on a trade brace yourself.

This is the best nursery I have found in the area for houseplants!
Such a good selection of healthy looking plants, and very reasonable prices! I have been stopping by a couple weekends and I love that there are new plants every time.
Picked up a gorgeous Pink Princess on one of my trips and it is doing so well! -
Hewitt's is great for gardening and for houseplants. They have great choices for perennials and annuals. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful. Hewitt's sells the best dirt for pots and raised beds. I use their dirt and get my tomatos there every year. My tomato plants grow over 8 feet tall and are prolific producers. Was there yesterday and Michael helped me find a plant that i was just describing according to looks. He found the plant (wire grass) and later helped me get my giant bag of dirt loaded. More tomatoes this year!
