Electrical reviews in Hendersonville, Tennessee

This review is from 6/2015. Worse company every. Charged me $600 to put up 3 ceiling fans and to put one under cabinet light up. We had already bought the fans and put them together as all they had to do was put the fans up. The under cabinet light was done wrong and bent. My husband had to redo. We called to complain and joe said he would call us back. Yeah right. Beware

Called twice talk to the same person he’s the guest speaker on WTN 99.7 radio show Dr . Electric first time a called explained my need and he said he would have one of his workers call me set up a appointment. NO RESPONSE FROM THEM.
Called again talk to same person on Friday and he asked when I wanted the work done I said first thing on Monday he said they would call before coming but Monday was all set. NO RESPONSE AGAIN. I took the day off without pay cost me over $260 in pay. If you’re going to be on the talk radio show you need to make sure that your professional returning people‘s calls getting back to someone I would never refer these guys ever and Im considering calling the show and let them know that as well . -
They were very responsive with communication. They did the work for about 1K less than other quotes to wire a pool. They even gave me the option to do the trenching to save money. Felt they were up front and transparent. The guys that came out for both quote and work were awesome. Very nice gentlemen. They earned a customer for life.

These guys are awesome! I had a long list of things that needed to be electrically fixed/ looked at in a home we’re remodeling. Both times they came out, I wasn’t able to be there & just left a list. They fixed everything & had good ideas for cost effective solutions. I’m having them come back out to replace all the switches & plugs in the house, because they really know what they’re doing & do a good job.

I was referred to Dr. Electric by my realtor and had informed them of my situation. I talked to Joe and he asked me about the issues i was having and had someone scheduled to come by house later that same day. Cody did an amazing job and such a life saver. Came out on short notice, figured out that i had a blown fuse, condensation leaking into my fuse box, rusty breakers and stripped bus bar. Within a few hours had everything repaired and working so much better. Even took extra time to figure out why my heat wasn't coming on and took care of that as well. Plus, it was so much cheaper than i expected. Thank you so much Joe and Cody. You have an amazing team and already planning on using you guys when it comes to changing out our panel.

Chris and Jon at Dr. Electric did a great job and they really know what they are doing! We had several indoor and outdoor light fixtures on our 1920's home and we were impressed how fast and knowledgable they were. They were professional and got right down to work, and so we didn't try to carry on conversation so they could focus and do the job. We highly recommend Dr. Electric and will definately call them back again for future electrical needs.

My rental company used Dr. electric. Been dealing with them for a month and a half over an issue. They said the issue was with the electric company, and it's been a month dealing with the electric company as they continue to tell me that it wasn't an issue from their side it was an issue with the electrician. Then they were supposed to come last week and I waited all day and never received a call (I have a picture of my call log if anyone is interested that shows no calls were received). After a week of still not receiving any phone call from them to come and fix the issue, I contacted my rental company again. They said they thought it had been taken care of. They never heard back from Dr. Electric and assumed the job was complete. They gave me the name of Dr. electric and Joe, the owner. Joe was extremely rude and said that he had called me numerous times. I never received a phone call. He said that they only call once and they don't leave a voicemail and if you don't answer then they move onto the next job. It's not their policy to contact the rental company or to try to contact you again. Seems like really bad customer service to me. But his work loads gonna be much lighter now. Since I played the recording of the phone call to the rental company, and shown them my call log, they've agreed that they're not going to use him anymore. Proceed at your own risk. Seems like they want to charge you for a visit, then scapegoat and blame electric companies or customers instead of fixing the real issue.

I have used the services of Dr. Electric twice, for light fixture and ceiling fan installations that were too high up for me to manage. Both times their final bill (maybe not the cheapest, but I thought very fair for licensed and insured electricians) matched the estimate, they were exactly on time, quick, clean, and courteous. I would recommend them and I will use their services again if I need electrical work done.

We had called a number of electricians in order to move an outlet when we were installing a hood over our stove. Dr. Electric (Cory) came out when promised, completed the work within an hour and even patched up the old hole! We were so impressed - especially since 3 other electricians either failed to return our call or just didn't show for their appointment. Thank you so much for the great, professional service. We will be using Dr. Electric again!

I called them for a "free estimate" as advertised on their website. There was some miscommunication about when the worker could come take a look. Communication is a 2 way street so i can't put this issue on them.
When the worker got to my house and gave a bid 3x higher then other bids i got that were really free, they decide to charge me $145 service fee because I allegedly said I want the work done the day the guy comes. Had the bid been competitive that would have been the case and I stated several times I need a bid only. Never giving them business again!!!
The only reason they got $$ was because my parents were visiting while I was at work and they paid. Had I been home the worker would still be in front of my house because free means no money. These clowns need to learn that!! I'd never spend my hard earned money for services not provided!! -
I needed an electrician to add some outlets and install an outside outlet for our holiday lights. Well, Big Jimmy arrived from Dr Electric and low and behold he has lost over 100 pounds on his new look at life ! All work done and the bill was very reasonable for all the corrective work done. Add that to the safety I now feel cause Jimmy always checks to see that everything is up to code in case I have added stuff on my own and I am now set for the holidays !
I am so lucky to have the Dr Electric group as my electricians ! They really do care about every one of us, so if you’re in the greater NASHVILLE area, keep Dr Electric in your phone and get to know Big Jimmy as your best electrician/friend. -
I scheduled an appointment after they gave me an estimate. They seemed very professional and I looked forward to their service. On the scheduled service day they called and kept pushing the time to later in the day. After no show and late in the afternoon I called them. I was asked to reschedule for another day the following week. I made the appointment and took another day off from work to be here for the service.
The next scheduled day came and I called them around 0845 to see what time I should expect them. He said I would receive a call in two hours form the tech. The tech actually called in an hour. He said I was on their next service stop and they would be at the house in 2 hours. 2 more hours passed and I called them again, they said another 2 hours and they would arrive. 2 hours later I called the main number again and I was told this time they were on another job. They only had to hang 4 lights and they would be here in... 2 hours. 1530 rolled on by and I finally just cancelled the service. I am using another electric company to take care of my needs.
Dr Electric Hendersonville did not apologize a single time for their poor communication or for making me wait around for another entire day. Very poor communication and very unprofessional. I am just one homeowner, but I guess Dr Electric doesn’t understand “word of mouth”. -
If you aren't using Dr. Electric, you're paying too much and it's taking too long. Dr. Electric is the only electrician I will use. They are knowledgeable and very responsive. I send pictures of the issue and they come prepared with correct parts. Like Joe says - they are the wallet friendly guys.

My AC contracted company informed me this week that a couple of the breakers in my main box were damaged. They suggested I use their electrician for the repair and replacement of the whole panel for a cost of $3k to $4k. I got Dr. Electric's name from a friend. They came and repairedthe two breakers. cost was under $250. Not only that, but Cody explained to me that many companies will claim need to replace the whole panel when that is not what is needed at all. I feel very blessed to have found them.

Don't waste your time or money. In September I called to get an estimate on a small repair on two electrical panels when selling my house, just installing some missing bushings on the pass throughs. Joe, the owner, answers the phone and that day it seemed like he was a bit impatient. He asked me to send him photos of the panel so he could get a clearer idea of the work. Never heard back, so I called one or two days later to see if I can get as estimate and get on the schedule. Joe says I'm already on the schedule and someone will be there Thursday or Friday. That's a pretty big window. I know now that at this point I should have walked away. Also, Joe never provided an estimate. Got a call that Friday afternoon from the electrician who would be doing the work. He shows up and immediately starts complaining to me about the job he had just come from. Then he tells me they do a lot of work for Chris Stapleton. Very unprofessional all the way around. He gets to work on the job inside the house and I can hear that he's on the phone, and using a lot of profanity. When he hands me the bill it says 3.5 hours, but when I put it together later he had been there for a little less than 3 hours. After he left I went into the room where the panel was and there was a huge hole below the panel, drywall dust, and copper clippings, all over the floor. It was clear that the dust had been pushed around and walked on. I called Joe to complain about the hole and he cuts me off to say that the electrician needed to cut a 4x4 hole to fit in some conduit. He says the guy should have told me and he'll have the guy call me. This was not a 4x4 hole. The guy texts and asks where the hole was, and when I send him pictures he says it wasn't like that when he left. I tried emailing the company, and that's when I found out it was Joe who had been handling the calls and was also handling the emails. I explained in detail what had happened, included pictures, and mentioned the overcharge. Joe didn't want to hear it. He sent back a lengthy email again trying to insist that they had to cut a hole in the drywall to fit in some conduit and that they charge time for travel to the job site. My wife received the receipt from our payment and responded to the email with her own review. She got a response saying that the electrician had asked for a vac and I had told him, "don't worry about it, it's just a little dust." Before I even responded to Joe's first email he told me the electrician had told him that he had asked my wife for a vac and she told him, "don't worry about it, it's just a little dust." So which is it? Did the guy not know about it, or did he know about it and asked for a vac? I was never asked for a vac, and the guy never spoke to my wife. The electrician was unprofessional and a liar, and the owner backed him up. That might be a good tactic on a construction site, but not for this customer. No estimate. Unclear billing. Terrible communication. Unprofessional service. Caught in a lie and wouldn't do the right thing. Call anybody else.

We had an ugly foyer light that needed replacing in a 2-story 19 foot ceiling. They brought in a 16 foot step ladder, got the light changed out, re-wired and attached large tear drop crystals, polished them. Super professional and fast.. they were in and out in an hour, and charged 1/3 of what others were quoting the job for. I'm super happy and telling all my neighbors that all have the exact same lights in their foyer!! Very HAPPY!!

Lacking multiple common materials

Horrible experience! Not friendly at all. Was asked to leave due to no mask during flu season.
-
The staff is great and always gets me in and out with haste and respect! I wouldn't go anywhere else to purchase my electrical equipment!

The staff here have consistently been the most helpful of any supply house in the Nashville area. They are the best.
