    Southern Exterior Construction came to repair a vent pipe leak and do an overall roof and gutter inspection. I appreciate that they were honest and told me that my roof was in pretty good shape. They didn’t try to sell me a new roof when I didn’t need one. High five for that! They also gave me advice on how to stop one of my gutters from gushing over the end instead of down the downspout. I would hire again.

    My Grandmother was in need of several services including replacing her original slate roof with architectural shingles, repairing and rebuilding her brick chimney, performing a custom build to tie in the existing garage roof to the main house, installing transition flashing from the roof to screened in porch to stop a leak, and installing gutter guards. My Father requested quotes from 5 companies, including Southern Exterior Construction. Some of the companies came out promptly to take down the information, but then, my Dad had to follow up with them to actually get the quote. Some of the companies had to be followed up with to actually come out to do the quote and then they would produce the quote in a timely manner subsequently. It was really hard to find a company who would be consistent in their response. Also, because my Grandmother needed so many things done in addition to just a new roof, only two of the five contractors were willing or able to do everything that she needed. Some of them could do the gutter guards and the roof but she would need to get a general contractor for the roof tie in and a masonry for the chimney. None of the above issues were applicable to Eric at Southern Exterior Construction. Eric came out to do the quote as soon as he said he would and he also produced the quote in a timely fashion. His quote was also very professional and all contractual terms were defined. Since his basic contract didn't have extra room for all the additional items that my Grandmother needed, when asked if he would add more details to the contract, he actually created a whole separate document that explained all aspects of the job in detail without leaving any terms out and without ambiguity. He also was very professional to speak to in person and on the phone. After the contract was signed, Eric produced samples for my Grandmother to choose her new roof colors, maintained open communication prior to project start, and then started the project exactly when he said he would. All work was done in a timely fashion and to my Father's very high standards. The roof replacement itself was done in less than 2 days and that was even with a slate roof removal. All workers were courteous and very hard working. They maintained a clean job site while working and when completed, everything was as clean (if not cleaner) as it was before they started. Upon completion, Eric produced all documents needed showing the project was completed. And, his contract and documents are also perfect as is to share with an insurance company if ever needed. I personally spoke with Eric to do a short interview with him before the signing of the contract. There is something he said that stuck with me. He said that contractors really have a bad reputation. So many nowadays don't do what they say they are going to do. Or when they do the work, the work isn't done to high standards. He said it was his intention on trying to single handedly change that reputation. Eric - you are well on your way! Incredible job!!

    I had the pleasure and good fortune of having Southern Exterior Construction perform a complete roof replacement on a second home. The owner was prompt for appointments, informative, and knowledgeable. They were on time, I was always updated with any issues encountered with the roof, even was sent pictures of the progress, and cleaned up when the job was done. Neat, tidy, beautiful job!! It was a pleasure doing business with them, and would highly recommend them for their excellent work ethic and work!!
