Charlie Martin came over at the scheduled time on April 2. Well dressed, very nice and seemed professional. Turns out that he is one of the owners. Showed him my pool/ spa which needed to be refurbished, new heater, new pumps, blower and filter and jets. It was going to require some major work. The equipment was 30 years old. He told me he would send me a quote via my email in a day or two. After a week I called him and he said he would send it when he got back to the office. Another week went by, no quote. Left him a text on April 21st to send me the quote even though at this point I had decided not to do business with Heritage. Just wanted to see if he would respond. I guess my $6,000 - $7,000 job wasn’t big enough for them. It would have been nice to have the courtesy to respond and at least tell me that he didn’t want the job or at least couldn’t get to it. NOPE!! Well they are not the only pool company in Knoxville. I only gave Heritage 2 stars instead of one because Charlie came on time for the original appointment and he looked professional. I only give bad reviews when deserved. By the way Tipton Pools told me right off the bat they were a year out on the job.

Terrible customer service. We had an appointment for months to have our pool serviced as usual. Fast forward to scheduled date and no one shows up after calling and being told we were in fact on the schedule for that day. No phone call. In fact I had to call the following day to be told I’m sorry we are so behind we have some many commercial pool emergencies and openings, too much rain, not enough staff, etc we will need to reschedule for weeks out even to be told if they could catch up. It was offered to me at that point for another pool technician that they stated worked with and contracted work with to come instead to open our pool. So I said sure if that’s what you all do when you get backed up on service and if they are qualified to do the exact same opening we had been getting then fine that would be great. The technician comes and does great work on a small pump issue we had only to be told he really only works on the mechanics of pools and usually doesn’t open them. He had gone prior to coming to the heritage pool store and obtained chemicals previously used to open our pool. Problem was he doesn’t normally do that part and was basically told by heritage that is what we always needed to open the pool. Poor guy worked hard to get to us and help as shocked as I was when I mentioned all the other standard things that we have done at pool opening…vacuuming, back washing, chemicals etc. He was thrown to the wolves and really did the job he was told to do but not what we were ensured he did. I called to inquire about the proper pool opening procedure and asked for invoiced and chemical lists they’d used in the past so my husband and I could just do it ourselves. I asked that someone come back and help rectify this. Again the same sob story of we are too busy and and that if I could have waited all would be fine. After already being on the schedule for months. The person on the phone (yes the same one that always answers) is rude and hateful. Refused to send me any information on what they usually do. Told me to get off the phone and go vacuum my own pool. I had a few choice words to say to her as anyone would. If she’s reading this I want to say my thoughts and prayers are with her as she shared personal health information with me on her own accord and I wish her the best in that health journey and healing.

I had my pool resurfaced recently in a darker blue color. As a result my pool water is too warm. I called Caitlin at Heritage Pools about swapping out my heat pump for one that cools as well. She got me scheduled in less than 2 week's time. Caitlin found me a unit at a great price that will fit my needs. She has also found a buyer for my 2 year old heat pump and is coordinating between both of us. I am a new customer to Heritage (they shut my pool down last fall), but I have been very pleased with them, especially their customer service, and especially Caitlin.

Update: my unit was installed (plumbed), but after I hooked up the electrical I was getting an error code of low pressure. I called in a heating and air person, and we had no freon in the unit. He tried to add some, but there was a massive leak. This was Friday afternoon. By Monday morning Caitlin said they were ordering a replacement. We had this unit installed a few days later, and it works great. This was great customer service to get this all to happen within one week. They even covered the charge for the heating and air person I called in. Also, props to Hayward for speeding the warranty process to approve the replacement unit within a couple hours.

If you are thinking of getting a pool installed by Heritage please reconsider your decision. Be aware, they use deceptive contract practices. The way they have it worded seems reasonable at first, but all they do is try to get your money as fast as they can. They end up with 90% of your money even before they are more than halfway done. Then your project just sits...they have 90% of your money so they don't care. Buyer beware. They also made adjustments to the design and I was told I could either pay a crazy high amount, or I could pay him cash. He showed up at the door the next day requesting the cash in hand. There was no project oversight, and I ended up having to check everything and make sure things were done correctly. They installed equipment that was cheaper than what was listed in the contract, did not follow through with fixing the faulty sand filter they installed. Plus, in the end we were overcharged (which we were forced to do through contract price manipulation) and when we requested for them to make it right, they cease communication. I am still owed for overpayment and cannot get them to answer texts, emails, or certified mail. Don't put yourself though the same headache that we had to put ourselves through. Find a more reputable company.

These guys do a great job for a great price.

Custom windows and more, did a great job on our vinyl siding and window installation. Hired another contractor previously and couldn't get them to return calls or text.

During the installation of our new windows and siding they identified black mold, rotten wood, damage from termites and a leaking foundation. Jake and his crew are very talented, knowledgeable, supportive and reassuring to us, as we were completely overwhelmed. Great group of people! We can't thank you enough!

This company did an amazing job and we love our new windows! Our home had several very complicated odd shaped windows that needed to be replaced that Jake and Cameron had to lift up onto the deck and then up a ladder to the roof-it was not an easy job at all but they did wonderful work and we will definitely be using them again to replace windows in the future. Emily was also great to work with as she handles the estimates and payments. The communication was great, staff is very friendly, and as a small family business they work hard to make sure the job is done correctly. Highly recommend!

A year ago this business added steps to an existing back deck and a portico (overhang) to our very bare front porch. We’ve absolutely loved the results! This is a family run business and they make sure the customer is satisfied with the results. I would definitely hire them again!
