Grayzer Electric

Grayzer Electric exceeded my expectations in every way. They were easy to schedule with, and sent confirmation including who was assigned to my appointment window. On the day, they called & were running ahead of schedule and I was home & excited to get the work done sooner than expected. Brock and his assistant were friendly, clean, masked, and jumped right to work. They were quick, thorough, and perfectionists about the finished look and functionality. I even added an extra little project and they finished everything in less time than expected. Felt like a bargain, they are top notch professionals.

These guys were great! They had expertise in the area we needed and helped us out a lot before we even needed a paid project completed. Highly recommend for home EV charger installation.

I sought a quote from Grayzer for installing an EV Charger to get a feel for the pricing. Since their offer was not competitive with the other two I had done, I asked if they would be able to be reduce the price. The response I received was "If all you care about is price, feel free to go with them.
We gave you a formal quote in writing, not an email, from a real electrical contractor with insurance, employees, etc."

My issue with this response is twofold. All I do care about is not the price, and the implication was presumptuous and rude. Secondly, the price I tried using as reference was quote by the guys who also did my solar panels. They've been a local Austin business for at least a decade. They are a registered electrician in the State of Texas and had a team of employees that worked on my house.

To further illustrate my point, I have decided to go with Smart Charge America, who were not the lowest bidder, but offered a better deal for the install than Grayzer. When I asked Smart Charge America about pricing, they didn't make unfounded claims or rude comments.

I wanted to like Grayzer. Up until that point, they were helping me feel comfortable about certain things as I asked other questions.

Grayzer, if you care, consider how you talk to potential customers. My wife wanted to select you until you spoke to me that way. I apologize that discussing the price was such a pain point for your business.

Edit: Well to be perfectly honest, you should be comfortable with the question if you have been in the business for some time. I was asking on good faith and you decided to be upset by it. Smart Charge America is offering the right down the middle and weren't all grumpy when I asked.

Your response sucks and does not help your case.
