Electrical reviews in Austin, Texas
-
There are hundreds of electricians in Austin so I'm glad I chose to hire Bryant Electric. I called on a Tuesday after my refrigerator and microwave were fried during a storm (presumable a power surge). Jeff told me they could come out on Thursday morning between 8-10am. To my disbelief, the technician showed up at 8am EXACTLY. Anyone who hires service work to their house knows how rare it is for a technician to show up on time! was presented with three options to fix the problem, and I chose the middle road option. Still came with a warranty which is nice. Thanks Bryant!!!

Booth installed a 220 line for my new electric range (had a gas range previously). He kept me informed of his progress through the entire visit. He conducted a electrical safety check and explained what he did when he was finished. He even swept the floor before he left. If you came into my house now, you would never guess that my new range had been installed today. I will use Bryant Electric again for my electrical needs.

Jeff showed up on time. I called and needed someone right away. Jeff made. Special trip and did it right away. My appliance was not here yet and he came back to finish when it was delivered. Very professional and explained everything that needed to be done. They charge by the job and not the hour, I love that! Will use again!

I had a great experience with Bryant Electric. The technician was capable and friendly. He put in recessed lighting, changed out several fixtures and installed/replaced GFCI's where needed. Would recommend!

First time calling Bryant Electric Service. No power on a couple wall sockets and the electric water heater. Brian Hutson was very professional and showed up on time. He not only fixed my problem but also provided me with valuable information and tips to prevent future issues. I enjoyed the text and bio of the technician before arrival from the company.. If I ever have any other electrical issues I will be calling them again.

Daniel, the electrician assigned to my job request, was very professional and very knowledgeable of the wiring in “older homes” built in the 50s! His knowledge and expertise is what my family needed! More work needs to be done, so he’s coming back!!
Bryant, you have a good worker on board!! -
My experience could not have been better with Bryant electric and Zac. They were quick to respond when i had an issue and then were amazing in troubleshooting the issues, explaining them clearly to me and then telling me what options I had (many of those options did not include using their service / paying them money). They care and they know what they are doing. I would not use anyone else for my AC or electric needs.

I see a lot of good reviews on there, and I'm sure they're true. I hope my experience was an anomaly, but this review can't come as a surprise for Bryant Electric. I recently bought a house with aluminum wiring and contacted them to fix the switches and outlets to make them safer with aluminum. The technician was told by a supervisor to replace all the outlets with GFCI outlets. I agreed to this, because they are the electricians after all and I have zero electrical training. After the work was done, I ran a simple google search about using GFCIs with aluminum wiring and found that it was a completely inappropriate solution. I contacted Bryant and they admitted to the mistake and blamed it on a poorly qualified supervisor. They had to come out a second day and fix their mistake, but if it wasn't for me double checking their work, the error would have gone unnoticed. The sad part about it is that I still do not feel 100% confident in the work that was done given all the mistakes, but I cannot afford to have another electrician double check their work. I'm giving them 2 stars because they were punctual, friendly, and communicative, but I really would have just preferred the job be done correctly in the first place.

Highly qualified and scheduling an appointment with them was very easy. I explained what I needed done for electrical repairs and HVAC maintenance and they were able to quickly address everything. Very professional and knowledgeable about my equipment.

I too had a bad experience with this company. I set an appointment with them for 8:00AM this morning. I specifically held off until this spot was available so that I could go to work late in order to meet the electrician. After no arrival or call, I called the Bryant at 8:30. The person that answered said that they had a "safety meeting" and then the electrician had to stop by the supply house. When I asked why they didn't call she replied that they would be leaving soon. Not sure why Bryant believes that they do not need to arrive on time like the rest of us. I understand that things happen, but a call is good business and common courtesy. When I told her I couldn't wait and would find someone else she was short and obviously frustrated that I would not hang around waiting for them to arrive. I now need to find another electrician, set an appointment and go through this drill again. Very disappointing!

We had the pleasure of dealing with Josh Figueroa after finding the main breaker box outside was the issue, He was very punctual and showed up early before ETA and very friendly. He checked all possible outcomes for why we lost power and was very patient. Because of his professionalism and courtesy we will be using Bryant Electric for all our electrical needs and repairs in the future. Thank you very much to Josh and Bryant Electric for your outstanding work. Matt & Sasha

Very pleased with the service from Bryant Electric, they were on time, quoted me the price ahead of time and the technician (Shawn Jones) was courteous, wore dust protectors on his shoes every time he entered our home and finished the job with all the necessary parts available on his truck. To all the folks that say they are too high on their prices remember, if the job seems easy to do, then do it yourself! Electricity can kill you and your family so use a professional, home grpwn company like Bryant Electric that has been servicing Austin for over 30 years. Thanks, Tom Thornhill

Requesting service was easy to set up and they were able to arrive early to fix my company’s malfunctioning HVAC system. The technician, Angel M, was awesome and incredibly efficient. He diagnosed and repaired the issue quickly. The rate was reasonable. Highly recommend for HVAC repair service.

Ruben R. of Bryant Electric Service was punctual, professional and provided the most efficient solution and recommendation for my electrical needs (needed a outlet on a wall in the garage for a refrigerator). Job was done within an hour so he was quick as well. Highly recommend using this company for your electrician needs .

Although the initial technician was very professional and courteous the prices were way to much. I do understand this kind of work is special in nature but replacing a few wall outlets in my home should not be near 500$. Perhaps a ruff estimates could have been done over the phone so I could have told them they were way over what I wanted to pay. Instead I was told this in my home and had to pay the 59$ fee. Please make your prices more affordable for small projects. I am going to have to go to a certified handy service that charges 1/3 of your price.

After taking the day off from work and scheduling a week in advance, Brian from Bryant Electric came to my house to replace 10 light switches, rewire a 3-way switch, and reconnect a receptacle. His charge for 4-hours of work? $1529.00! More than double a full day rate for an electrician. Of course I had no choice but accept the charges, since I had already waited a week and taken the day off of work.
I just don't think this is an honest business practice. Bryant should offer a fair hourly rate. They overcharged me and I'm not going to use them again for my projects, and I've got lots of projects. Short term gain, long term loss. -
Price Gouging to the extreme!!! I was told over the phone that the cost for my work would be around 400-600 but they would charge me $59 to have the tech come out to give a more accurate estimate but the 59 would come off the price of the work. I said that was fair, scheduled the appt. The tech came out, he was on time and courteous. When he looked at the spot where i wanted a 220v outlet installed he said it would be 1400!!! I asked how i could get one price from the office and another from him and he stated that 'they don't see what i see' I asked what he saw..he couldn't tell me. The run was only about 50 ft. from the box and when i asked for a breakdown of parts vs labor he said they didn't do that. They charge by the job as a whole. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! I had 5 other bonded, insured and certified master electricians come to my house for FREE estimates and they were all around the $800 range give or take a bit with the same exact parts. I am highly suspicious of their pricing methods since they can't give me an itemized list of parts vs labor. They still charged me the $59! Guess if they are making $59/hr they don't really need to do actual electrical work.

This was our second time use Bryant Electric Services and could not be more pleased with their work!!! Zac is professional, knowledgeable, patient and efficient in his work. Our first job with Bryant, Nick was our technician and he was great as well! We would never use another electrical service except Bryant!!!

Service technician did a great job and I don't fault him at all for this review but it's way too expensive. They explained the charges up front but most people are not going to take the time calling a new company out when they need something fixed right away. So, it was $480 for replacing a dryer plug and switching a two prong outlet for a three prong. Took all of an hour and a half maybe and I mean the actual materials may have run $50 at most. So, I basically got charged over $200 an hour for very easy work for an electrician. I expected maybe the price would be in the $300 range for what was needed and I would have given them a 5 star. This rating basically is a 5 star for service but a zero star on value given their pricing.

Worked with Bryant AC to do the electrical work for a minisplit install. It was easy to schedule online and get an estimate. When they showed up to do the install they were super professional and quick, and Nick was extremely helpful answering questions I had. 10/10 would recommend. Will be using them again
