Andres was fantastic to work with! I reached out on Thumbtack regarding an exterior home project where old, disconnected wiring was hanging and creating a safety hazard. He came out the same day, quickly and efficiently removed everything, and made sure the area was safe and cleaned up. He was professional, personable, and realistic about what to expect. His pricing was fair and transparent, and he made the whole process smooth from start to finish. I highly recommend Andres if you're looking for honest, efficient, and high-quality electrical work!

Well deserved 5 stars. There’s a reason this company has such good reviews. Loren and Justin were on time, worked efficiently, checked with us when they turned the power off to parts of the house (my husband and I both work from home) and then showed their work before leaving. We had 4 ceiling fans installed, 2 new gfci outlets put in and a switch replaced. They actually forgot to do the switch replace initially, but because they walked the job with us before leaving, caught it before leaving and did it quick!! I think one of the best parts about this company is that they quote up front. I knew exactly what this was going to cost and had time to allocate funds to the project. I have no idea what other companies charge, but I won’t be looking for anyone different the next time I need an electrician. Thank y’all!!

After a recent lightning strike, one of the switches in our home was damaged and stopped working. We reached out to Terrapin Electric for assistance, and I couldn’t be more satisfied with the service we received.

The electrician, Andrew, arrived on time, quickly identified the issue, and clearly explained the necessary repairs. He replaced the damaged switch and ensured the surrounding wiring was safe and up to code. He also cleaned up thoroughly before leaving. From start to finish, no one else I got a quote from was as communicative or transparent. They outlined everything and broke out all the costs, reviewed potential issues they might encountered, and encouraged me to get other quotes. The install team was really great. Showed up exactly as expected, took the time to do everything right. Checked in with me before moving forward to make sure all cuts were as I wanted. I really could not ever go with another electrical company after working with Andres and Matt.

What an amazing company. Jacob installed our recessed lighting, and ceiling fan. Moved numerous outlets. They were on time and very professional. Five stars. We will definitely use Terrapin Electric again.

Had a great experience with Terrapin today! I had an odd electrical issue at my home, and called them for help. They were helpful even just on the phone making sure I'd already checked the easy things first, but also recommended that I contact the city before having them come out, which I did. When the city couldn't resolve the issue, Terrapin was able to come out same day and get me fixed up. Appreciate the quick turn around and great support.

It was an excellent job. I think I was severely overcharged based upon some other recent ground wire work I’ve had done at my house ($225 for more in-depth outlet work). When I questioned about why the price was twice as much, the response was that he had to drive from Austin. So what you're telling me is that it's my fault that I'm paying exactly twice as much as the other ground wire work because you came from Austin? So basically I paid $225 dollars for your transit from Austin and $225 for the ground wire work. That's just absolutely ridiculous! The only reason I went with this company is because the company that is installing my motorized screens uses them. That's alright though, fool me once, shame on you. It won't happen again!

My wired in smoke alarms were sounding off. I 'hushed' them and finding the house fine, inserted new batteries and dusted the base. No more alarm sounds until 1am, then every 40 minutes for several hours. I called Terrapin the next morning having seen the good reviews they'd received. They scheduled Asahel to come look at my system. The things I liked about him was he listened to my experiences, asked pertinent questions, took a look at the system and made recommendations. He was methodical and friendly. The system is currently fine and if I ever needed an electrician in the future, it would be Terrapin. Great service!

We had a power issue at my house, which I had called two other companies to come out and fix. Neither could find the issue. Andrew at Terrapin found the issue in about 5 minutes! The problem was on the city side of the connection - he called Austin electric and made sure they fixed it correctly and didn’t cut corners or shirk responsibility back to the homeowner. Super nice guy and excellent service!

Roger quickly diagnosed and fixed wiring issues on two lights hanging very very high in our stairwell. He was kind, professional, and explained what he found every step of the way. We would hire Terrapin and Roger again.

Terrapin has been great. After a surprise compliance issue, we had to relocate out service drop to a different part of the house. It was a complex project and I received 4 estimates from different companies, and ultimately decided on Terrapin. Their pricing was competitive and they're very professional over the phone and on-site, arriving when they say they'll arrive. I'll be using them again for future electrical services.

Grateful for Asahel and the Terrapin team for their professional and efficient services! Found them through Thumbtack for a 240v outlet install. I was worried about the outlet location and having to do drywall repairs, but Asahel pulled off the tight install without a dent.

Andres was incredibly professional and honest throughout the entire process. A previous company used scare tactics to try and justify a price 10x what Terrapin quoted. I will be using and referring Andres and Terrapin from here on out. Very highly recommended.

Great experience. Their master electrician did an inspection of the wiring in my 100+ year old home and made a clear, thorough writeup. I submitted it to insurance and got approved. He had good prices, showed up on time, and was responsive to questions. Would hire again.
