Want to give a special thanks to Ted's Trees for the wonderful trees and service they have provided. They are extremely helpful and knowledgeable! Thanks!

Good selection of trees and shrubs. This is not a glitzy place... don't expect fancy. We bought from them in the past, they delivered and planted the tree and it thrived. So we are getting another. Good hard working folks.

Hands down the most professional company. From the beginning of the process of choosing the trees, through delivery, and installation, I love Ted’s Trees. Highly Recommend!! I will definitely go back again.

Called this place and left message for tree moving quotation. Never got a call back. Ted should realize that not calling people back pisses off people and they end up writing reviews like this. Ultimately, that results in fewer people calling and the business going elsewhere. Customer Service 101 lesson complete.

Paid for 5 oleander trees $195 each. Delivered 4. Told me to wait 1 week till new batch coming. Called me back in 1 week and tried to send me the one smaller size but for same price I've paid. I refused then he sent me check in amount of $120 and said cuz I didn't pay full amount. Horrible business. Stay away from this business.

Know what you want, ask where it is and buy it if you like it. However, its pointless to go there and browse because essentially nothing is labeled. Not surprisingly, many items are in 30 or 45 gallon pots or even bigger that are essentially impossible for a homeowner to plant. I think 15 gallon is probably my limit. Delivery is about 50 bucks and their planting half the cost of the tree.

Well after reading reviews I was a little hesitant in calling Teds trees but I did anyway because the size of tree i needed he was able to get. I called the office and scheduled an appointment to meet with Ted himself for Fri. between 12-1 After after a no call no show I called the office and the women answered the phone said he might be running late because SXSW Traffic. Ok I can accept that but how about a phone call? Im a business owner myself and scheduling 1hr out of my day is near impossible. So the women in the office gave me his cell number to call him. I reached out to Ted and he said he hit a gas line and there is police firetrucks and news trucks everywhere but he could be here in 30min. WOW Really? Ok say I believe him. Why wouldn't his office staff not know of this and relayed the info along? Maybe not. Ill give them the benefit of the doubt. All of this is not what upset me. It was Ted's response to me when I told him I had scheduled around our appointment time with my clients and a phone call would of been nice. He laughed and said I'm the last thing on his mind. I was born away. Im not buying a couple trees or getting some landscaping done. Im buying 1 single tree at the tune of $6500 You would think that you would get a little more professionalism when dealing with clients that need this type of worked preformed. Heck I'm just asking for the respect of a phone call. You think Im going to buy a $6500 tree from a company or man that actually told a client that i was the last thing on his mind. Ya I'd bet he's gunna stand behind the tree he plants a year latter if it dies. There are many tree farms and companies to choose from in this area. I recommend employing some one who cares a little more about there clients than Ted does. Good luck Ted! Austin is changing my friend. Your going to have to try harder than that. Its not 1991

Sold me 2 sycamore trees that were in terrible shape with no leaves for $600 which was unfortunately paid for over the phone. I later found two much nicer trees that were much fuller for literally half the price. They used to be good and have good inventory but you can tell they don't care anymore

We were fortunate to connect with Tom Caperton, one of Ted's Trees's supervisors. He was extremely helpful, giving us excellent advice on trees to purchase and providing personalized planting service. He came out to our house before we made the final tree choice and told us what would work best. We purchased a large red oak and a crepe myrtle, but he also walked the property and give us lots of advice about other plantings to do later and ways to help our existing trees. He came out and supervised the actual planting, the extension of our watering system, and some cosmetic trimming of old branches. He was great! And our trees are lovely and healthy.

Originally called and spoke with Ted, the owner of the business. We were looking for a dozen Leland Cypress trees for our home, installed. He quoted prices, WITH INSTALLATION, which I confirmed with him multiple times over the phone before we closed the conversation - all under $300 for 10-12' trees. When we were ready to place our order, his wife sent us a new bid for 45gal tress at $450 a piece PLUS $2700 in installation costs. Lots of back and forth information here. Ted claimed he never spoke with me even though I had him on speaker phone with my husband when we made the initial call. This is all so ridiculous. Terrible customer service and zero attempt to take any responsibility for the misinformation. I would be weary of purchasing from this business.

Ted's trees was very professional and helpful. Best of all, they honored their one year guarantee on the large tree we bought. It died within five days of planting and they replaced it for free. Thanks!

My daughter and I went to Ted's twice. The first time, they didn't have the trees Ted had told me they had, and no one was there to answer all of our questions. My daughter called Ted and made an appointment with him for the next morning at 10:00. She rescheduled business appointments, was there at 10:00, but Ted had gone to Lakeway instead. I called to tell him how disappointed I was especially since I was the one who had recommended him. He said he would discount the price of the trees. No, Ted, that's not the point. It was totally disrespectful, my daughter is self-employed, and her time was valuable, too. He told me to go jump in the lake. Thankfully, there are plenty of other landscapers and tree yards to not have to put up with his undependability and bad attitude.

Had a Bradford pear tree removed and wanted a replacement. My research indicated that a Monterrey Oak was perfect for central Texas. Called around and went down to Ted's Trees in east Austin to see what they had. Talked to Chevo, the 85 year old man that started the buisiness many years ago. He showed me a 100 gal Monterrey oak that looked staright and healthy but I procrastinated and it was gone when I went back to buy it. So I picked out another tree and paid for it but when I came out I noticed some things about the tree that I didn't like. Ted told me they were getting more trees in the next couple of days but they never seemed to come so I ended up picking a 45 gal tree that was straight and looked good and they refunded the difference. Today Ted's crew planted the tree and I am very happy with it

I highly recommend against working with Ted's Trees. They have enjoyed a nice run in Austin, and built a decent reputation over the years as one of the few players with significant and diverse inventory. It appears clear now that the city is outgrowing them. Firstly, their inventory is not in as good of shape as it has been in the past. Secondly, the service is horrifically bad. I made an appointment while on site, and they "no-showed". I called the shop, and they said they would call back. 15 minutes go by with no call. I call back, and they tell me they can come by later in the day. No contrition, no apology for the no-show. I expressed my frustration, and they said "you want me to send you roses?" (sarcastically). I can't imagine giving business to such an entitled organization.

Wonderful experience. Lots of companies plant trees, but not a lot let you walk the business site and tag your tree. And what a selection of beautiful, healthy trees! I didn't want a twig, my wife and I went and picked out an oak tree with a trunk 6" in diameter. Tree is probably 14' tall and half as wide. The size is similar to other trees in the yard and thus it blends well.
Tree was planted a week after purchase, and for such a big tree I was surprised by how hard I had to look to find signs of the tractors they used to do it. Planted perfectly upright, firmly staked, and generously mulched.
    Thanks for the great tree.

I've done several projects with Ted over 10+ years, involving large trees, sprinkler work, and landscape lighting. His lighting, sprinkler, and masonry people have been with him for years and in my experience the quality of the work is very good. We have had a couple of plantings die but Ted has replaced them. I would definitely recommend Ted, especially for more complex projects where things have to come together.

I'm quite confused by the volume of negative reviews. While I did not hire this company to plant any trees, I've purchased both trees and shrubs from them over the course of a few years. The family running this business is always warm and helpful. The prices are very good and the quality of plants has been excellent in my experience.

I bought a tree with a one year warranty and followed the instructions for watering. At one point around the six month mark it started to lose leaves so I called in. An unconcerned employee told me it was fine. She was correct, the tree actually thrived for a while.

Fast forward to just before the one-year mark, an alarming number of the leaves start turning brown in the middle of summer, so I called again. The employee asked the kind of tree and told me the tree was fine.

The tree was not fine. All the leaves eventually turned brown, and there was a fungus growing on the trunk. Because my phone calls had seemed unhelpful and the employees unconcerned, I took pictures and went in to the store.

Mary told me the tree was dead, and said I should have called long ago, before the year warranty was up. She looked in her call log and there was no record of me calling. They offered free installation if I wanted to buy a new tree.

To be clear: I wasn’t asked for my name or any other info when i called. I also didn’t know there was call log, otherwise I could have made sure my call was recorded.

The tree was very nice while it lasted. I wish the service at the store was as good.

I had worked with Teds Trees several years ago. They cut through a phone cable in the ground, but otherwise, did fine. This time, they cut through a water line even though they told be they would have all the utilities marked in advance, which they did not do. More to the point, they gave me 2, 60 gallon crepe myrtles instead of the 100 gallon trees based on their advice for the size. No problem there, but after two months of trying to get in touch with Mary in AP/AR, I spoke with the company namesake, Ted. I explained that I had been trying to contact her for some time and was at the point of calling the CC company to file a dispute. He told me Mary has plenty of money and to go for it. He then hung up on me and refused to answer the phone afterwards. I had expressed displeasure, but was in no way rude, insulting, or profane. I will not be using this business ever again and I recommend you look elsewhere if you are in the market for foliage.

Very pleased with our Magnolia tree selection purchased 2 weeks ago. Its progress is impressive with it blooming beautifully.

I would like to thank Ted and his staff for the trees provided when I purchased my new home. These trees have made it through the freeze and are more beautiful than ever. They did a very professional job and I’m pleased with the outcome.
