I chose Matt to work with based on his glowing Google reviews. I have to say I'm a bit perplexed by the difference in my experience and his other clients that were so happy with their experience.

I met with Matt and we did a thorough walkthrough of our property and what we would like to have done when he came out to do the estimate. It was a fairly small scale project. We added a flower bed, re-mulched, replaced some plants and added gravel.

Matt told me that it had been very wet so they would get to our project as weather permitted which we were fine with. I also confirmed that they planned to use some type of ground cover on our grass when hauling gravel into the back yard and for foot traffic to avoid damaging our grass. He said they would.

A couple of days later I got a call from our house cleaner telling me that there were strange men in our yard and she was very startled. I called Matt and come to find out they had started the project even in wet conditions. They did not use any type of ground cover and the grass was badly damaged.

Matt didn't call me that day to confirm any of the plans we had discussed so I assumed that he had completed everything on our project list. When I got home that day there was a lot of things that weren't completed. A lot! I called Matt and they came back out a second time to finish the work. However, when I got home after their second visit the work still wasn't finished. I then made a list of things that weren't done, which was still quite a lot, and when he came back out I asked him if he would like the list. It seemed obvious to me that he had not made notes on anything we had talked about. When I questioned about why things weren't done he would say "I couldn't remember what we discussed" or "I wasn't sure".

Lastly, when 99% of the work had been done and I had gone in late to work on more than three occasions to meet with him he had said he would be back to install a lattice system of some kind for vining plants he planted along our back fence. I texted him several days later because they had not completed the work and he said he would do it for $150. Needless to say I was upset. We had already paid him a lot of money and this was lattice was in the original plan we discussed so shouldn't have cost extra.

We also used his lawn service for several months and were never pleased with the quality of their work either. We cancelled.

In summary, I do not recommend Matt for landscaping work or lawn services.

We had 3 trees that Riverside provided and planted in Spring of 2018. All were planted with 50 feet of each other in the same soil and cared for professionally continuously. One of the trees (the one in the middle) began looking bad and the center palm fronds began rotting within the 6 month warranty period. There had been no freezes. We called Matt to come take a look and when he inspected it, were told we should keep an eye on it. The tree did not survive and since we were now outside the warranty, Riverside provided a written quote for $375 for a 45 gal replacement. We agreed to the cost. The first tree they brought out in March 2019 was a 30 gal (not 45 as was on the quote). We refused the tree. They brought the second tree (45 gal as requested) and installed within a couple of weeks. When the invoice was presented it was $525. Matt said he made a mistake on the quote and would not hold to his quote. We have spent well over 10K with this company over the past 3 years and recommended them to a number of our friends who have also utilized their service. Our loyalty and referrals were not important enough for the the company to stand behind their quote and eat their own mistake (if it was one). We gave them the opportunity to make the situation right to no avail. Disappointed ...

I had a new pool installed and needed help with drainage and some sprucing up of existing landscaping. Matt responded right away and came out the next day to look at yard, take measurements and give estimate. He and his workers were able to come out soon after to install drains, and add landscaping. They worked swiftly and professionally and finished the drains within an hour! They left the yard clean and added grass to cover drains and bare spots left by the pool install. Matt chose some nice plants to brighten the garden, provided granite gravel around my pool equipment and laid flagstone pathway from my driveway to the pool. Cost was reasonable. I very much enjoyed working with Matt and his employees.

Matt was very professional. He and the crew were great. They were punctual, friendly, answered all questions, and had great ideas for landscaping. Matt was always at the job checking to make sure all was handled correctly. I highly recommend Riverside Lawn & Landscaping and I will call on him again when needed!

Matt came out to the house, walked the property, drew a map of the layout with each type of plant and discussed various options that we wanted. About 2 to 3 weeks later after we reviewed the plans and cost, the crew came out and installed the lawn sprinkler system and plants in the front and back the house. They also installed both low voltage and 110 voltage lighting for plants and large trees. A beautiful job done as planned at very quickly and cleanly. We highly recommend Riverside Lawn and Landscaping.

Matt was knowledgable and very pleasant to work with. He provided good ideas for our landscaping plan mapping out suggested plants. His crew was polite and worked very efficiently in planting grass and providing drainage. Matt procured some unique grass because of the amount of shade in our backyard. Some of our grass has not taken and Matt agreed to replant this grass. Matt was upfront in his pricing which we felt was fair and reasonable. We’d hire him again should we need additional landscaping work.

I hired Matt to fix draining issues in back patio as well as building part of a retaining wall.
The drains he installed are not leveled so they don't work well and water puddles in them so now I have more mosquitoes. My back patio is still a mud pit. When I asked them to come by and check it out he said he would but never came and I haven't heard back since. This wasn't the first time he stood us up without a warning either.
As far as the retaining wall, my 80 year old grandma would've built an equal quality wall as they did. I asked them to build about a quarter of the wall but after I saw them working on it decided to finish it myself. I paid about 20% of what they charged me to build the rest.

Bottom line, SUPER expensive, poor quality work, poor quality customer service. Look elsewhere.

Matt and his crew were great! They did some landscaping and drainage for us and we are very satisfied. Matt was always quick to answer any questions we had about the process and they were very quick to finish the project. We plan to use them again in the Spring for a bigger landscaping project!

I contacted Riverside Lawn and Landscaping in the hope they could offer suggestions for a serious drainage issue in our yard. The response was almost immediate and Matt provided options and explained in detail how each might address the issue. We were very pleased that the work was scheduled very quickly and finished professionally. Our area was left picked up and looking very good. Heavy rains were proof positive that everything worked just as we had hoped!

We were extremely pleased with the quick and professional work done by the Riverside team. We will be calling them anytime we need work done that we can’t (or would rather not) do ourselves. We highly recommend them.

We have been using Riverside for many years. They now care for most of the neighborhood in our area. We have a consistent crew that are great in responding to special requests or adjustments in their work. Matt is very responsive to texts, whether it be as simple as holding off mowing for a day or a request to work on a landscape project. Over the years, we’ve grown to respect and trust them.

I chose Riverside after interviewing at least four other landscape companies, and following a very distressing experience with our former landscaper. Really appreciate how honest Matt was, and also his creative ideas. I also appreciate the fact that he was on site, at my house, and not 30 miles away. He really took ownership of the entire project. Matt listened really well and was quite patient with my last-minute changes and requests, including a ton of sod for the low places in the backyard. The crew did a great job with the installation and particularly with cleanup. We are very happy overall and will definitely hire Riverside again.

After getting multiple quotes on having a flagstone fire pit put into our back yard we went with Matt and his team. (My best advice is to avoid Boone landscaping - he majorly over-quoted us). Matt was great at communicating with us from day one. His guys were professional, on time, and listened to what we wanted. When there was a part of the completed project that we didn’t like, Matt was very quick to fix the problem - no questions asked. Overall I’d definitely recommend this company for outdoor projects.

I had irrigation and pave way done by this company and everything was going ok until the owner finished the job and had my money and when I inspected the job he promised me that the company would come back out to grade the side of my house because it looked absolutely HORRIBLE. I trusted Matthew and his word and it has been almost two months of false promises and a half finished job. Spare yourself the headache and go with some true professionals and not someone that just talks a good talk then goes and picks up random workers from Home Depot to do the job with no knowledge of what they are doing! My new house has been ruined because of this company!

We are extremely pleased with the results of Riverside Landscaping. Matt closely supervised the entire installation and was very responsive to all requests and suggestions. The installers worked very efficiently to complete a beautiful landscape at a very reasonable price.

Review #2: Greenscape Innovations did such a great job for us the first time, I called them immediately with our latest project. They installed natural stone stairs up a steep hill on the side of our house and WOW! what a difference. I feel I now have access to an area I avoided before. We also had them install a custom built cedar hot tub. The process involved pouring a concrete pad on unlevel ground and the moving a nearly 800 pounds tub about 200 feet, down, then up a hill, then seating it, installing the electrical connection, and the plumbing. Once again, Sam and his crew did an amazing job. I cannot stress enough how professional, polite, and courteous everyone is. If you have any projects to do outside your house, do yourself a favor, just call Greenscape.

Review #1: They repaired and diagnosed problems with my sprinkler system. The crew was fast, efficient, polite and were happy to work around some other contractors doing another job. I plan on using Greenscape Innovations for other projects as well.

Showed up on time, worked hard all day in Texas heat. Left my yard clean and neat returned the following day and finished project. Very respectful and professional.

Really loved the service we received from Greenscape. Our backyard was a mess from the day we moved in, a crawfish infestation which was destroying everything, uneven land that left dry spots and big puddles, a pool with a sliver of concrete around it and a shed sitting on rotten pallets. The project we had lined out was a large one. Our project had everything from drainage, leveling and sprinklers to slabs, fencing and gravel. We ran into a few bumps due to weather, but they did a great job. Not only did they make sure things were done the way we wanted, but the very small problems we had were quickly handled and communication was effortless. Our yard is wonderful and we are able to walk around without falling into a crawfish hole. I will definitely use them again, thanks a bunch Greenscape for making our yard an enjoyable place!

Roberto did a great job checking our sprinkler system and making sure everything was in working order. Roberto was very efficient and was done in 30 minutes! Keep up the great work!

The day I contacted Greenscape about my back fence needing stabilizing, one of their adjusters, I believe it was Sam, came over to look at the fence--in the rain. A few days later, their crew arrived, and immediately began working on a tree that needed straightening (which I added later). Their men knew what they were doing, worked well together. and worked hard. I am completely satisfied with their work and with the men who accomplished the job. I will not hesitate to call Greenscape again and fully recommend them to anyone who needs help. Bob

I was so impressed with Greenscape, I called about a problem with my sprinkler system, they were able to come fix it in 45 minutes. Marco did a great job, solved the problem and got my sprinkler system working beautifully. Thank you Marco and Greenscape.

Needed to re sod my front yard and I am very satisfied with the work done by GreenScape Innovations! My lawn looks amazing, they were very professional and the value was the best around!
