I called Olson Electric to perform a service at my business. I spoke with the owner early that morning and explained that one of the outlets had sparked and smoked and wasn't working and that another outlet went out as well. I asked if anyone was available to come and assess my problem and he scheduled technicians to come out the same day which was great. The technicians showed up after 3pm and I explained what happened to him again. He walked to the back and came back in less than 10 minutes and said, "You are good to go!" I was shocked because I just knew with the sparks and smoke it would be more work done. When I expressed my shock at how quickly he fixed the problem, he escorted me to the back and showed me where the switch had tripped. I explained that we tried flipping the switch on and off before I called and that didn't seem to work. He then explained that essentially I didn't push the switch back hard enough. He went to his truck came back with a ticket for $120. I was again shocked! I have had several service calls for maintenance on cars, air conditioning, plumbing and even electrical. Generally they charge a flat service call fee for coming out and before they perform any work they tell you what's wrong and what it will cost to fix it and you have the opportunity to decide how you want to move forward. This was not the case. $120 for 10 minutes of time and flipping a switch felt like robbery. I asked the tech... "Is this right?" and he said they charge a flat fee of $120 for coming out. I was floored, but I paid because they did fix my problem. But I decided to call the owner and express my disappointment in the ambiguity in how he charged for the services. When I looked him up online, his rates were not posted on his web site. His response, "If you had asked me, I would have told you that was the rate." He then said " If you had asked about our 10% off for first time clients, I would have honored that too." Now I'll take responsibility for presuming he conducted business like all the other service providers I have used. Lesson learned, I should have asked. I should not have expected to get an assessment and quote prior to the work being done. But from a customer service standpoint,I found it disheartening that he blamed me for not being forthcoming about his rates. And the fact that he felt ok charging $120 for a 10 minute service call blew my mind. I would have expected to pay a fee for their time, travel and gas... but not $120! Oh.... And the icing on the cake... he gave me an example of how he helped someone over the phone with the same problem I had and saved her the $120. Wow! I wish I was that lady. So don't be like me and don't ask for your quote up front. And make sure you ask for the 10% first time client discount.

We had all our lighting changed out in our loft and were very impressed with the quality of work and professionalism that both Michael and Phillip gave us. We will certainly use them again if needed and highly recommend them.

I'm sorry to have to make this post, but I think I'm "persona non grata" now with Olson Electric. I have called for service, and no one ever contacts me back, even though I am told they will get back with me. I don't understand the lack of response; I don't owe them any money. What did I do wrong that they no longer want my business? I cannot recommend them.

Mark Ellison at Olson Electrical Service, Inc is the absolute best electrician you will find. He is personable, on time, very knowledgeable and able to address any and all electrical needs. Do yourself a favor and hire Mark for any electrical work you might need done.

Great local electrical company! My mother and I both used them for a good amount of electrical work. Including changing out our circuit breaker boxes. Excellent workmanship, and electricians are great! Philip did a great job on our place!

I could not recommend Olson Electric Service, Inc. more. They were due to come tomorrow morning but called to ask if they could come this afternoon instead. Had to troubleshoot a very problematic short in a 1950s ceiling porch light and install a sconce light on a short, crumbling brick wall to replace another 1950s fixture. Did it all without a hitch. Nothing threw these guys off. They ended up having to go into the attic to re-wire the ceiling porch light and weren’t going to charge me the usual attic fee since they didn’t foresee it and tell me about it in advance. I insisted on paying it. They were so honest and efficient and wonderful to work with. So good to have an electrician I feel so good about!

Great service at a great price! Phillip provided excellent service and was prompt in responding to my call. I had three electrical issues that needed attention before selling my home and they came out the very next day and quickly fixed them all. I would most certainly recommend Olson Electric.

Olson Electric did an excellent job of replacing two light fixtures in our home. One fixture was brand new while a second one was moved to another room. We couldn't be happier with the installation work that Olson Electric did. Both fixtures have enhanced the appearance of our home. The team itself came out and got the work done timely. Cost was reasonable. We highly recommend this company and would call them again to handle our electrical problems.

Mr Olson went above and beyond in assisting me with having my power restored following the tornado. He communicated extremely well with me during the process and not once was I left thinking, I wonder if/when he is going to call me. Not only did he save me money, but he is completely knowledgeable and transparent in the way he conducts business, which is difficult to find these days. AN HONEST PERSON WITH INTEGRITY! If he doesn’t think you need a repair, he’s not going to sell you 5 things just because you don’t know better. He’s going to tell you that everything is fine if it’s fine. I highly recommend Olson Electric, you will not be disappointed with the amazing customer service and repairs.

Olson replaced/upgraded the service entrance and main breaker panel for a very reasonable price. Teamwork was excellent with this crew, and the work was first rate. Highly recommended. These guys really know their stuff. I'm an EE and can tell. Get your Federal Pacific service entrances replaced by Olson Electric now before the breakers are needed and fail.

Olson replaced the meter base and meter riser for a very reasonable price after a branch took out the power line. Down time was minimized, and the work done by Michael was excellent.

I had ten light fixtures that I needed replacement/repair on to update my home. Olson Electric came out and their technicians were excellent communicators and the price of labor/materials was substantially lower (over $100) than I was quoted by other electricians.

The work was done the same day. The whole experience was like a episode of HGTV and didn't break the bank! I am so happy to have these updates done and guaranteed. I can recommend Olson Electric Services, Inc., very highly without any hesitation.

Gary helped me to understand things about my breaker box and walked me through a process that made everything clear to a novice like myself. I had a client who needed some repairs done to his home. Olson Electric provided great service! In today's big business world, it's not often that the owner of the company answers the phone. Olson Electric responded quickly to our needs and was out in less than 24 hours. They provided very professional services and met my client's needs. Thank you Olson Electric for doing a great job; you made me look good.

Called Olson about a generator. Next day had some come out and viewed my house and and explained how it generally would work. Within 2 days had a proposal of the cost and a time frame. called back in 2 days and told me if i ordered a Generac by October 10 we would get an additional 5 year warranty. We did and within a week we had the generator. we had to wait about 2 weeks to get a larger propane tank and Gary stayed in touch to make sure his team had everything ready,, I day before the propane tank was to arrive he had his electricians out here putting in all of the boxes and do the wiring that was required.
The day after the propane tank was installed the electricans were out here hooking everything up. showing us how to connect with Generac on our phone and how to operate the few things we need to do. Basically it operates on its own after the initial break in period., Excellent service and competitive on pricing. Highly recommend Olson Electric.

On time, transparent, and what impressed me the most is the fact they cut the disconnect boxes off while they swapped the homes service panel is what impressed me the most, may sound small to most but I've been in the trades "AC" for nearly 20 years and have worked with electricians all over the metroplex and you'd ve very surprised how often that is missed, these guys didn't miss that and just made me smile...many many reasons why. A whole-home generator has been on our list for some time, and we learned about Olson Electric Service from our neighbors who had a good experience with them. Gary and team clearly have a lot of experience in installing generators and walked us through everything from start to finish including all inspections. The end result is peace-of-mind knowing that we're protected.
