This was such an amazing place to visit ...I wanted to buy everything...

I have purchased over 40 "Dragon" maples and Japanese maples and 1 Gingko here as we have places on our land to plant them. All of them, very large to very small, have been exceptional trees. Some of these maples, Fire Dragon, Baby Dragon, and Super Dragon began here, patented by Keith Johannson, now retired. Beautiful, truly awesome trees. Most of these you can't get anywhere else. Nowadays, I get Scott Hubble, the current owner, to pick out my trees for me. He has the eye for it!

Just purchased three Shantungs here and I have to say that this place it great. Good prices, especially for a nursery, and all was loaded skillfully and safely into my truck.
Originally purchased in September, all three trees turned the colors advertised in November. -
Metro Maples is a truly wonderful place. Quite apart from the beauty and tranquility, they have an incredible choice of maple trees, and are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I can thoroughly recommend!

What a wonderful experience Scott provided for my family. We had a mix up at first, however Scott not only help resolve a simple mix up he went above and beyond to fix it. If you need a tree this is the place to go. Thank you to Metro Maples you have made a customer for life. I have already recommended you to people.

Love this place! The pond area has changed a bit from 8-10 yrs ago, when I went there the first time... But they have so many selections of JM trees. I like the fact they have various sizes for almost all varieties. And the staffs are very knowledgeable and super friendly.

We bought a beautiful Orangeola tree today. If you want a Japanese Maple this is the place to go. Wonderful service & very patient with all our questions. Will definitely buy from again.

My husband and I were so happy to find Metro Maples. We lost a 20 year old Chinese pistachio in a recent wind storm. I wanted to replace it with something that had comparable fall color and my husband has been wanting a Maple. Google brought us to Metro Maples and we are so pleased. All of the staff was so kind and knowledgeable. Instead of the one tree we came for we bought two. I am so excited to watch our Fire Dragon Shantung grow and can’t wait to see his colors this Fall. Our Japanese will make its home on our porch until we have enough shade to plant it in the yard.

Scott and Metro Maples continue to be incredible. Worth any drive you happen to need. They have an enormous selection of traditional Japanese maples but also a good selection of maples that can take full Texas heat and sun. Don't get a boring tree, stop by and bring a trailer.

Absolutely Beautiful Trees & plants.
The employees are very kind & respectful.
We purchased three trees. They are doing very good. We purchased two Japanese maples & a fire dragon -
Very unprofessional sales who told us wrong instruction and information about the Tamukeyama Maple tree we bought in April 2022. We were told this tree need to be under the shade and that's why we put it under the patio in a pot. Later found out actually it required 6-8 hours of direct sun. When we changed the location of the tree, it was too late. We emailed metro maple and the guy who answered email asked us water it every 5 days even I told him it's obviously too dry if wait to water every 5 days. The tree never turn around and when I googled online, it says need 5-7 galloon of water every week and suggest to water every 2 days in first year. Well, long story short, metro maple refused to refund a $450 tree died in several months. They said they are not responsible for the wrong sales info and email instructions. Do NOT buy from them as they are NOT professional and irresponsible about their product and has no sense of customer service. We should have bought the same tree from Calloway for less than $300 and can return if there is any problem. We even drove an hour to buy the tree. Would NOT recommend this company!!!

This really is a business run by people who love what they do and your experience will back that up. Been going to MM since before the owner changed and the new owner worked here for years before taking ownership and has a real passion for maples. Make sure to plan some extra time if it is your first trip to walk the selection and their demo garden and pond.

The selection is fantastic and Scott & team are so knowledgeable to new maple owners like me! My Fire Dragon is now rooted (after a year and a half) and is now growing rapidly! Be patient and in my own experience I've had better luck growing small trees as opposed to larger ones from plant nurseries.

I absolutely love this Maple farm it is absolutely beautiful the quantity and quality of their established trees plus the ones that they have for sales absolutely phenomenal. You can find a tree for virtually any price range here from 10 to $12 up to several hundred dollars. I will be honest it's a bit of a drive but I mean if you go once or twice a year it's no big deal.

This place is amazing! Huge selection of Maples and Ginkos. Prices are very affordable dependant upon size. The staff are truly Arborist professors in Maples, and will be there for you as much as you need. In our case, we needed lots of hand holding, and they were there for us! Can't recommend enough!!

Really great folks who are willing to take the time to talk to you about what they offer, it is a little bit of a drive, but worth it to find some great plants that other stores don't offer.
Update: bought two trees from Metro last year and one did not come back this spring. They replaced the tree with one the I think looks even better. I can't enough about how good it has been working with them. If you are looking for a maple tree (especially Japanese) be sure to check their online inventory and get out and visit them. -
This place has any sort of Japanese maples that you can think of. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff.
They are over an hour away from my house , but I have to say it was worth the drive.
Scott helped me so much , from answering all my emails and questions , and sending me pictures , to help me find what we needed for our yard .
Scott knows everything that you would need to know about the Japanese maples.
Great price and great attitude.
I definitely recommend them and will continue to refer them to friends and family.
Many thanks to Scott and his staff. -

I have driven past this place many times and have always wanted to check it out. As a Certified Arborist, I was very impressed with this tree business, I hand selected and purchased a Fire Dragon Maple tree for a long time customer and installed it the same day. The owner and operator is very gracious and knowledgeable about his trees, he takes a great deal of care for every plant on his property. Very organized and very well kept. I am much looking forward to selecting and purchasing trees from this fine company and owner in the future. Excellent trees and excellent service. A+A+A+A+A+

Always a pleasure to visit, worth driving long distances to come check out. Stunning selection. The owner, Scott, is so helpful. I had an issue with a tree and they worked closely with me to fix it. Their customer service is absolutely wonderful. I always look for any excuse to go browse their selection. Lots to choose from, and everything from small potted maples to very large mature specimens.
