I have been cleaning and maintaining pools for five years now and I have always enjoyed maintaining Pool Concepts Pools. When you put the right equipment in and it’s done right it makes My job a lot easier.

BUILD BEAUTIFUL POOLS; BUT NOT GOOD AT RESPONDING TO CALLS FOR SERVICE OR QUESTIONS.... called Monday, were told would receive a call back within 48 hrs. called again yesterday... still no response... cancelled call today; will call another company... had the same problem when pool was being built; and for warranty work.

Excellent. I highly recommend this company. Most knowledgeable of all the pool companies I researched. They exceed standards and will make sure that everything is done right. They have been nothing but trustworthy and honest. I truly feel like they honestly care about me being happy with my pool. This company definitely is the industry's best!

Had an appointment today. The sales person called and said that they can't make any work at my house because my house is so far away from them and it was not going to be fair for the workers. I'm only 39 minutes away from Pool Concepts. I guess they don't want to sale any pools. Lost a customer here and will probably lose more customers. I'm not recommending this company

Great pool company, from start to finish. We have had our pool over 10 years and I can still pick up the phone to call them with any questions. Great customer service. Would highly recommend them and I have. Other friends have used them with great results as well.

Beginning is wonderful with design. Jason had a lot of patience with us and visited with us many times. Alma did a decent job too throughout the process. In the fall/winter months, the pool was forecasted to take 8-10 weeks. They started in November and it seemed on track to be completed in early January. It was cutting it to the T, as there was little last minute details (firepit) that weren’t complete yet. In addition, it was clearly seen that some of the last minute details like the box to turn on gas fire pit , the tile in spa, etc. had poor quality done for a 90-100k pool.

All in all, I would recommend them but last minute details is what we just recently got resolved (March)after the start in late October/ early November. Also, there bubbler and features don’t turn on the same time, which as first time pool buyers, would’ve thought would be different.

Hope they can mitigate some of the things that we’ve experienced. Overall, 4 out of 5 because on those minor, yet important details.

We called the office and were told the estimator was on vacation someone would call us back in a few days. Over a week went by and we didn’t hear back from anyone so we called back and were told oh sorry no one has called you but you aren’t in our service area. A pool company out of Helotes who won’t come to Boerne to build a pool when it says on their site they have built pools in Boerne. Not a good experience in communication we could of been told this on the original call instead we are over a week further behind in our search to build our pool now! Thanks Pool Concepts!

Working with Jason was easy, quick, and informed. Overall we couldn't be happier with our new outdoor oasis! It's worth noting getting from 95% to 100% complete was tedious and time consuming (repeated requests for small details to be finished), but functionally the pool was done on budget and on schedule!

So first the good. The pool designers who met with us were fantastic. They really did a good job incorporating what we wanted in the design. The build went relatively well, although they rip your yard up pretty bad and have little regard for that damage and are pretty clear they won't fix anything. That's about all the good I can say about this company unfortunately.

    Now for the problems.

A cable to one of the pool lights was cut during install. It took over a month to even get someone out to look at it and figure out why the breaker kept tripping. Even longer to get it fixed.

When the pool was complete, the pressures in the filter kept shooting up. They kept blowing me off when I would call about it. They kept blaming us for the issue because we had "too many people swimming in it." Well, when they came to do the decking, NO ONE swam for 2 weeks, and guess what? Filter pressure shot up and it had to be backwashed twice. This finally spurred them to come look at it and they realized a screen was broken. They fixed it and the filter problems stopped for a bit.

It took months to get someone to come out to hook up the ozonator that we paid for. It was originally unhooked when the pool was finished because they felt it was causing the pump to lose prime.

When the UV filter was installed, it was never turned on because the installer didn't remove the contact protectors. So pool mart came out and said "Yup, they didn't read the instructions. We see it all the time."

Later that year we began having issues again with dirty water, but pressures seemed fine. After several service tech visits, we were told the pool was just dirty because too many people were swimming. This is always the answer from them.

Finally, and thankfully, our UV light went out again. They sent pool mart out to look at it. This tech told me the pool was not dirty, but that it was full of DE from the filter. Out come the service techs again and can't find anything wrong. The problem continues for a few more months.... Finally, after multiple visits, it took Ryan himself coming and figured out there was a large crack in the manifold that the service techs missed multiple times, even amongst filter cleans. (Ryan was always really helpful, but he's very busy so it takes a long while to get anyone out.)

This was fixed, and then a few months later, we once again were having DE get back into the pool. Here we go again. Multiple visits from the techs and no one can figure it out. I had finally had enough with this company. Even though the equipment was still under warranty, the immense frustration and lost time with Pool Concepts was just not worth it anymore. So going forward, I'd just pay for better service. I hired Blue Science Pools to come and take care of the problem. (they have been really awesome by the way). The first visit the tech looks at everything and tells me the Multiport Valve is bad. Interesting because in like 100 visits out there, Pool Concepts never bothered to even check that thing. Blue Science replaced it on my dime and guess what?? Everything was completely fine after that.

There were so many small issues that came up. When the tech came to clean the filter, he didn't remove the screens. Just opened it and sprayed it down with a hose and left. We had an electric heat pump installed. It broke after a year. I had some concerns it wasn't installed correctly because it kept leaking water. Pool Concepts said no, it's right. Amazing they could do that without even looking at it. It took multiple phone calls to them to even get a tech to come out. I had to constantly chase them down.

I would definitely not recommend this company. The build was good. But that was it. The next few years were an absolute nightmare. I regretted getting that pool every single day. Despite all their promises of how things were going to get better with their service it never did. We're building a new home now and wouldn't even consider using this company for the new pool.

They used the wrong flagstone. I guess it was cheaper for them to cut corners. My neighbor also had the flagstone and it peeled from the 3rd week and is still peeling today. After the construction was done I never heard from them again other than requests to repair the filters which were also of bad quality. Please do not use this pool company if you value your money. From the start it was a shady experience. Oh, and when your pool is finished, they offer a pool school that was absolutely a joke. Good luck getting them to schedule any appointments on the weekend too.

In response to the response: First of all, no other flagstone was presented at the time of selection. Also, when this was (the only) flagstone presented, no one advised that it may cause this many issues. In fact, why would anyone choose flagstone that would peel so often. We also advised the pool guy (who works for you) that this was happening and he advised it happens all of the time and they don't advise customers of this issue because they just want you to sign and have them sell you a pool. So, to me this is cutting corners. Also, I thought it was very odd that I did not hear from anyone after it was done. On another note, if your filters are as good as you say they are then it was installed wrong. The pool guy did not want to perform maintenance on it...I wonder why. Whoever reads this please beware of this company. The pool was so problematic in so many ways and this was just in the first year. All, in all, a pool company can say what they want in order to be somewhat vindicated but I can tell you as a consumer of this pool company, the work was shoddy to say the least.

We really enjoyed working with Pool Concepts. From design to construction they were really easy to work with. They built a really great pool for my family and would recommend anyone looking to build a pool to get a quote from Pool Concepts.

It was wonderful working with Jason Ordaz. The company is very professional. The Ordaz family has a first class business. It is nice to work with a business that follows up and what they say they will do. Pool Concepts totally met our expectations. We would highly recommend them to anyone that wants to have a pool installed or upgraded.

Wow, I love my pool. This is my SECOUND pool done by Pool Concepts. Can't say enough great experiences that I had with Jason and Joe.
ALL the subs were very polite and courteous. We had a HOA issue and Jason was right on top of it and helped with additional paperwork.
They have a huge selections of tiles and surfaces. Highly recommend !As I said earlier, this is my second Pool Concept pool !

Just had the best experience at Pool concepts! Everyone was very friendly. We mainly worked with Chris, he was awesome and has custom designed our new pool! Can’t wait to have my dream pool!

This is our first pool build so we have no comparison but if I ever have another one to build, I will not go back to these people. The only person who we thought did a decent job was the salesman - of course why we got sold on the project. The project communication was the WORST! I wanted to give them time and patience before leaving this review but my patience has run out completely. No one calls us back for any issue we call in for. We have to constantly call in for follow up. Project manager won’t answer phone calls, and dump the responsibilities onto their crews. Delays after delays with every step along the way for little things that turn out only taking 30min to fix. They don’t show up on the days they tell us they would and show up on the time when we aren’t home. It’s a HUGE disappointment and I will not ever recommend them to anyone. And honestly speaking, the pool did not turn out as good as it looked on their computer! We were so excited going into the project, costed a lot of money and it dragged on forEVER to complete.

Edit: Back in Feb because of the freeze many pools in Texas took a hit n parts broke down. We reported the damage and was told parts were unavailable. We understood and patiently waited. 2 months passed and nothing. After calling and calling, the pure lack of care/interest from their end made me call someone else. I was told by pool concept it was going to be AT LEAST another 2 months in wait and upward about $500 not covered cost. Guess what, another company came out within 2 days and repaired with the parts included for less than $100!! Go somewhere else for your pool project!

Tried to get a pool bid and had a one of the designers come out to take a look at the layout of my back yard. Right from the start on the phone it was like he was trying to convince me reasons not to get a pool due to a 65k budget. While at home the designer did talk about different options and eventually I took out the spa idea that I wanted. Pool concepts never got back to me with pricing or info after they said they would till this day. I am currently building a pool 2 months later with a pool company that took the time to listen and work with me. Pool price did go up to 75k but I got everything I wanted. Didn't want to post anything negative but I sure wish I would of been treated better.

We were very happy with our design and construction experience, but the follow up with warranty issues and service has not been great. We have reached out to them multiple times over the last year as we have issues with the stone on our fire pit cracking and stones lifting as the contractor did not use heat resistant mortar. We have yet to receive a call back. We also no longer use the warranty person they provided because he was unreliable and would miss multiple appointments. We were referred to a service person through our pool supply company that does warranty work on our brand equipment. Again, great pool, looks beautiful, but the service after the pool was finished is less than acceptable.

Pool Concepts has been wonderful to work with. Everyone from Mike, the designer, Dre and Jesse, the project managers, the office staff and all of the contractors have been professional & knowledgeable. Customer Service is excellent and we absolutely LOVE our pool.

My wife and I got 3 bids on our pool and outdoor kitchen. We are so happy that we chose Pool Concepts to do the work. We started with just a basic idea of what we wanted, but George Wieland (sales and designer) took that info and designed a beautiful pool. With any big project like this, there will always be hiccups along the way. The thing that was so impressive with Pool Concepts is that they were always very responsive to any issues that came up. Thank you, Miguel, (project mgr.) for staying on top of things. And last but not least thanks to Kent and Brad for getting the pool swim ready with all the touch up work and pool chemicals. We are very happy with our beautiful pool and our kids will enjoy it for many years to come.

All around great experience. Our 30+ year old pool was in desperate need of renovation and updating. Pete Ordaz personally came out for our first meeting and discussed some ideas. We then met with Tim Clark who took our ideas incorporated them into a design that exceeded our expectations. We sat down with Tim and discussed costs and materials and he was very open with us and listened to us to add somethings we wanted. Tim never pressured us to spend more, frankly we did that ourselves.

Construction started in early February (a week ahead of schedule) and only recently concluded, well beyond the original time estimate, through no fault of Pool Concepts. We knew our pool was leaking before we called Pete and we lost several weeks waiting on the leak detectors to chase down leaks (more than one - each time adding more delay). That delay almost certainly threw us of Pool Concepts schedule with its subs and then or course, we had a few weeks of rain that prevented plastering. Pete was more upset by all of this than we were.

Our construction foreman was Joe Zapata. Joe kept us up to date with the crazy schedule resulting from all of the above and came up with some creative work arounds for some of our leak issues that saved a lot of money. Joe was a pleasure to work with.

Pete told me he wouldn't do another pool reno for a pool he didn't build. I hope he doesn't hold to that. We hated the pool we had, but love the pool we now have thanks to Pool Concepts. We get rave reviews from everyone who has seen the pool and would not hesitate to recommend Pool Concepts to anyone looking to build or renovate a pool. In fact we already have sent a few people Pete's way.

    Thanks for everything.

From start to finish and even past completion with service we have nothing but positive things to say about Pool Concepts. Jason, Dre and everyone we worked with were amazing. Our backyard had some interesting challenges from wanting to keep as many trees as possible to digging through a pure rock slabs to building on a hill above our home, but Pool Concepts produced an amazingly beautiful pool that continues to be the focal point of our backyard and more importantly a great place to relax and spend time with family and friends. Thank you Pool Concepts.
