Astro appliance company visited my home to repair my refrigerator three times during two months period. They could not find why frigerator is not cooling. HORNET Alliance company came and replaced the condenser which merely took 3 days...
What is really going on with Asstro appliance? Horrible customer service and no response to my inqury whenever I asked the current status...
    Never...never call this company.

Awful takes forever to get an appointment. We had a technician spend four hours at our house until 11pm. When he left us he said if we smell smoke when using washer turn it off so it doesn’t start a fire. We turned on the washer after he left and it is more broken than before. We placed the call to Cinch home warranty on November 17 and it has still not been resolved as of December 1

As I patiently observe for the past 2 months these technicians going back and forth to repair my refrigirator, I can totally conclude that they DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. They are basically shooting darts on what is the problem. They would first try to replace one part and then another and another. People also work and they take off to get this done but it's frustrating when these techs say "oh it not working I'll come back again next time because it's the wrong part!" They don't have a process of trouble shooting, worse everytime a new tech comes, he starts from scratch again which is time consuming. There was no basic hand off from the previous tech what was done. Another different diagnosis that led to another BS excuse. This happened 3x which is a bunch of bull crap!

    Update: 12/10/2025
It took them 5 months to fix a fridge after telling them what they need to do. 5 months of fiasco to tell them replace the inverter, compressor and mother board and call Samsung Technical support while you are troubleshooting.

On March 23, 2021 a Russian Tech arrived at my home to find a leak in my washer. The tech said the leak was the cause of bad washer gasket.
On March 31, 2021 the Tech disassemble my washer for more than two hours, and was unable to get to the gasket. The Tech left my home for more than one hour, only to turn later that nigh and said he would return to finish the job. On April 3, 2021 at 4:30 pm, the Tech still could not get to the gasket to remove it. No repair was done on my washer!!! The Tech could not finish the job and he left my washer in a total disassemble. Please be aware of this company....Do Not call this company for repairs.
This company was referred to me buy Sears Home Warranty Services!!!

Please stay away from this place. Our washer stopped completing its cycle, and we filed a repair request through our insurance warranty company. Since August, they have sent a technician to our home five different times, and the issue is still not resolved. After multiple visits, they claimed parts needed to be replaced, yet the washer still doesn’t work. This level of service is completely unacceptable and unprofessional.

Do not let this company do any work for you. American Homeshield subcontracted Astro to repair my microwave oven. Technician removed microwave and set it on top of my Kitchen Aid Stainless and glass cook top leaving scratches. Additionally
he dented the stainless on the microwave. Finally, he could not repair the microwave and advised the warranty company to deny my claim as a result of misuse?!?! The microwave was in beautiful
clean condition inside and out and was never abused or mistreated. They were only interested in collecting the $100 service fee and not interested in repairing the appliance. My warranty company is now sending another. company out to do the repair. Beware of Astro Service in Houston.

    They are Liars.
We are writing to express our extreme dissatisfaction with the service provided by your company regarding the repair of our Kenmore Elite dishwasher. On December 20th, a technician named Puvl was dispatched to our home. Despite being informed that our dishwasher model does not have a filter, Mr. Puvl insisted on searching for one, removing the access panel underneath the appliance. He was unable to locate the filter and, without properly securing the sharp-edged access panel, concluded that the pump motor might be faulty. He left the panel unsecured, posing a safety risk to our children.

On December 27th, we contacted your office to request the replacement or reinstallation of the access panel. We were assured that a technician would be sent. However, on January 9th, Mr. Puvl returned, replaced the pump motor, and then stated that if the problem persisted, we would need to contact a plumber. This is unacceptable given the extended timeframe and the technician's uncertainty regarding the resolution of the issue.

Furthermore, we were subsequently informed by a representative, John, that Mr. Puvl had not removed the access panel—a statement directly contradicted by our experience. Access to the pump motor necessitates the removal of this panel; therefore, this claim is demonstrably false. The incomplete repair, coupled with this demonstrable falsehood, raises serious concerns about the integrity and competence of your service and your technicians. We request immediate action to address the unresolved issue with our dishwasher, the unsafe condition resulting from the improperly reinstalled access panel, and the misleading statements made by your personnel. We expect a prompt and satisfactory resolution to this matter.

The absolute worst experience. Requested service on an appliance through American home shield, they closed my service ticket after 1 month saying it was complete when it was not complete, after they did nothing but inspect the appliance and said the part was on back order. Going back and forth with them and American horn shield where neither can help me without something from the other with neither doing anything. 6 months they claim the part is still on back order, and still will not do anything to repair my appliance, horrible company, horrible processes, horrible service, they just want to take the service fee for the inspection and do nothing after. Do not bother with these people as they will not fix anything.

Sketchy. I scheduled an appointment through Frigidaire with Astro Appliance and received a confirmed time slot. Less than 24 hours before the appointment, Astro Appliance called to say they had double-booked and would not be available. They instructed me to contact Frigidaire for a full refund and to reschedule with another provider, which I did.

Despite following those instructions, only a partial refund was issued. When I called Frigidaire, I was told Astro Appliance claimed they had tried to reach me but received no response - which is hard to take seriously, considering I successfully rescheduled with another provider during the same call.

No trip was made, no service was performed, yet a $120 “trip fee” was withheld. It’s unacceptable and frankly concerning to see a company conduct business in such a dishonest and misleading manner. This reflects a clear lack of integrity and accountability. I expect the remaining refund to be issued immediately.

Has to be the worst service I’ve ever received. Dishwasher repair done carelessly with no true knowledge of the appliance. Technician left the dishwasher unattached and bent all the screws. When I addressed it, technician got aggressive and started shoving the appliance with other screws still attached. In the end, he left it detached and called it done. I rarely give bad reviews, but this is unacceptable. When I asked them to send a different technician to resolve, I was told to call Sears and tell them. I would give no stars if that were an option.

Garbage company. They wouldn't complete my service order to fix my dryer because they said that the dryer vent needed to be cleaned and they wouldn't cover that and that I needed to hire someone else to do that. Come to find that my dryer is a ventless dryer It doesn't even have a vent and that all it needed was to dump out and clean out the water tank which I did myself. They have no idea what they're talking about. Stay away from them. If you happen to have a home warranty which contracts with them try everything you can to get somebody else.

Astro Appliance Repair is incompetent and lacks integrity. They were assigned as my service pro with American Home Shield in the middle of July. I had the unfortunate experience to have a dryer, dishwasher and microwave all break down within a week of each other. They came a week later and did the diagnosis and "ordered parts". I called a week later and asked for an update on the parts. The office manager said she would have to call the parts department and call me back. A week later, I called again with the same answer... she would have to check with the parts department and return my call. After this, she wouldn't answer the phone anymore. I was kind and respectful the entire time and really tried to be understanding of the process.
I got AHS involved and they were able to make contact and Astro told them the parts were ordered. I continued to check every week and there was always a different arrival day for parts- they said they had received some parts but not others. I was giving them grace because I know imports have been weird.
Then I called AHS again for an update after I received an email that I needed to contact them about my microwave/dryer. Mind you, now it is September 15, a full 2 months after I put in my work order. They said my claim was denied because Astro had reported to them that day SEPTEMBER 15 that they didn't order the parts because my microwave was full of mold and roaches and that my dryer line was clogged and that caused the failure on the dryer. First of all, NO, I don't have roaches or mold and my vent lines are cleaned regularly to prevent a fire. Secondly, WHY would they report this to AHS two months after they diagnosed the unit. They LIED so they wouldn't have to own up to why the parts didn't get ordered.
So, I requested a second opinion. The new company came out the same day, diagnosed the units, ordered the parts and will be out today to do the repair. Less than 10 days from start to finish.
Astro DID repair my dishwasher, but it took them two trips to figure the parts out and get it completed.

I just can't figure out the audacity of this company to treat customers this way and to keep people waiting for months and then lie about the claim. Honestly, I spent enough money going to dry my clothes to have been able to purchase a new dryer. I was kind, patient, understanding and as flexible as I could have been. Reading these other reviews lets me know that I am not the only one.

I would give zero stars if I could. This was a dishonest and complete waste of time. The company was assigned by AHS.

The technician spent less than three minutes looking at my refrigerator, took a few photos inside the unit, and could not explain why the freezer was not working. When I asked questions, he said he didn’t know.

I later discovered that he reported a “crack in the system” to AHS without ever explaining or showing this to me.

Save your time and money. Do not use this company.

This company lies and does not actually fix any problems. My parents had someone from this company come to repair their refrigerator, which wasn’t cooling. He told them they needed to turn the refrigerator off for 24 hours and back on once a year and that would fix the problem, after not even looking at anything on the fridge itself. Then he left a report saying they had a severe roach infestation, which is not true at all, and that they wouldn’t send anyone else out again because of the false report of roaches. My parents have a repair plan through Lowe’s, so Lowe’s is sending a different company to actually fix the issue.

Our oven doesn’t heat well, makes a loud sound and now gives a strong smell when heating. Astro came several months ago and thought they had fixed it but it got worse. Home Owners policy uses Astro. They sent a man today from 12-5 arrival, texted at 5:40 said he would be here by 6. Readon there was an accident downtown. He said he was a “poor technician” and didn’t have a thermometer to test. Asked me to clean the little store bought one so he could use it. He didn’t smell what was coming out vecause “he is sick with a nasal problem”! He had no clue what he was doing. We sent him home. I DO NOT recommend this company.

We submitted a repair request for our dishwasher on August 2nd. Astro Appliances sent a technician who inspected the unit and said a part needed to be ordered. After several weeks without any updates, we called to follow up. Two weeks ago, a technician returned and replaced the part but informed us that another part also needed replacement. Since then, we have not received any further updates regarding the repair.
It has now been over two months, which is extremely frustrating and unacceptable. It appears that Astro Appliances does not value its customers or their time.

    Do not use this company!
    They are fraudulent and liars.

The guy came via AHS. Didn't know what he was doing so he called someone to help him diagnose it.

He said it was the motor and said he would contact AHS to have them fix it.

I called AHS after not hearing back and was told that the drainage motor damage was due to pet and pest infestation.

My dog is never in the kitchen and can't get into the motor in a dishwasher. I don't have roaches, rays or any pests thanks to my quarterly pest control and cleanliness.

They are frauds and should not be trusted. BEWARE

    Update to this review.
A second handyman came to check it out. Turns out the motor didnt need to be replaced. It was a lot of dirt stuck in the drainage location and all he had to do was clear it. So not only are the techs from Astro Appliance incompetent, they are liars. Its so crazy because this technician was able to fix it so easily.

I'm starting to think Astro Appiance is running a front.

cabinet doors. He also had to pull out my stove. After he did all that, he said he couldn’t repair the microwave because he needed another technician to help him because he couldn’t lift the microwave by himself. My doors were put back on crooked. He scratched my cabinet when he put my stove back. After he left, I called the main number and explained to them and sent them pictures. What had happened. 10 minutes later I received an absolute rude message from the technician. I’ve followed up several times to get my microwave fixed and who would fix the damages and they told me that the technician has to fix the damages out of his own pocket.

Company sent under American Home Shield contract to repair refrigerator. Including initial visit where they determine issue was the compressor, they made 3 additional visits as repair was not adequate and refrigerator is still not working. This process took one month over the Thanksgiving to Christmas holiday (11/25 to 12/19). Technician was rude and not responsive to my questions on the issue, whether it was repairable, how long will this take, etc. In the end they reported to AHS that there was not a mechanical failure. Completely incompetent and I would not use them and will refuse if AHS would assign them to me again. Do not waste your money!

Useless company. Dryer continues to run after clothes are dry and beeps randomly during the cycle, occasionally engages the keypad lock

American Home Shield sends out Astro. There is a language barrier with the tech, he doesn't seem to understand the symptoms I've described above.

Pokes his head in the machine, starts the dry cycle for a few minutes. Calls the office and then asks for a video of the problem.

I can't provide a video because I'm not going to stand in the hallway with my phone for a couple of hours while the machine runs, hoping to catch the random beeping.

Says he'll order the part for the long dry time but his manager will need to talk to AHS about the beeps.

Get a denial letter from AHS for "no mechanical failure". AHS says they'll have Astro send a different tech.

Astro leaves a voicemail and asks again for a video. I e-mail to explain why that's not feasible. Dryer now shutting down and throwing error codes for the drying sensor. I send a picture of that code.

Astro calls a couple of days later asking for a video. One again explain why that's not feasible. Rep says he'll call me back that day (Friday).

Wednesday rolls around so I call back. Astro still wants a video. I explain again why that's not feasible. Rep says they still need it. I hang up.

AHS is sending a new company, fingers crossed they're better.

Complete and utter incompetence. They came out 2 weeks before Christmas and the first guy had no idea what he was doing, didn't take the oven apart and left with a shrug. It wasn't until my wife called and spoke to a manager that they sent someone else out the next day. This person diagnosed the problem as the Control Panel. He told my wife he had to order the part and it would be 2 weeks. Then they called and said the part was in, 2 days before Christmas. The next phone call was one that their employee, apparently the only one they have, had car trouble and it would be the 29th of December before they could get here. After talking to a manager they sent someone out with a CONTROL BOARD, not panel as earlier discussed. He changed that out and turned to my wife and told her he had to order a Control Panel, the original thing they came to replace. These guys are like the Keystone Cops, no clue whatsoever. Would highly NOT recommend they to fix anything in your house.
