I called Earthworks landscaping because we were so disappointed with how bad our yard was looking and the lack of attention to detail we were receiving from our lawn serve. From my very first contact with Melvin White, I knew we were in great hands. To make a long story short, the very next day an Earthworks crew of 6 arrived at 9am and finished at 9:30pm. I have never been this pleased with how beautiful the yard looks and how hard the crew worked in Houston heat. I highly recommend Earthworks Landscaping! From tree trimming, weeding, lawn fertilization, care around our koi pond, mowing and mulch, they were precise, knowledgeable and efficient. Please accept my highest recommendation for this company. They came to quote a project at my home and sent an initial proposal over a month ago. I followed up with some questions a few days later—no response. A week after that, I called and was told they’d follow up soon. Nothing. Two weeks later, I called again—they apologized and promised an updated proposal by end of day. That was last week. If this is how they handle things before getting paid, I’d be worried about what happens after. I’d rather be told upfront they’re too busy than be strung along.

The guys always do a wonderful job and are usually in and out within 20 minutes. We have used them for over 10 years and have been pleased with the cutting, edging, cleaning, and lawn maintenance they’ve provided. Above and beyond service!

Earthworks Landscape & Maintenance is an amazing company of competent employees. From the owner, to the managers, to the gentlemen working in our yard. Everyone did a great job. The plants, shrubs, trees and flowers were all individually chosen for our yard. After the job was completed they sent a gentleman to make sure the job was done right and to make sure we felt the job was completed. We are in the process of signing up to have Earthworks cut our grass and trim our bushes on a weekly basis. They're that good!

They did a great job on sod & paver stone install. They source their sod from a local grass farm, not a big box store which makes all the difference and have been the only company to keep our St. Augustine looking great throughout the Houston summers/winters. Highly recommend Garrett & the team.

We love this company! We used to pay a cheaper weekly fee for our yard to be mowed and edged and every so often spend a larger amount to get all the beds cleaned up, weeds treated, etc. We are too busy to stay on top of it ourselves. Now we pay more upfront to keep everything looking great and maintained year round. The crew is very meticulous about getting every last weed and leaf. It’s just nice to be pleased with the way our property looks all the time rather than take a look at it every few months and make a list of everything that needs taking care of. Additionally, after hurricane Beryl they came and cleaned up everything within a day. Our yard was immaculate, it was beyond impressive.

I recently hired Earthworks to install drainage at my home. This was the second time I had hired them. They did a great job on both projects and I would highly recommend them for any of the services they offer. They communicated clearly and regularly from start to finish and did exactly what they promised. The techs that performed the work were professional, courteous and worked incredibly hard in hot conditions. When they were finished, you could barely tell that any work had been done, as they left my property in virtually the same condition it was in when they started. Great people who I will hire for any future projects.

I called Earthworks on 5/13/25 looking to get info and possibly use their services. I spoke with Melvin White and explained what we were interested in having done. He asked that I send pictures of my front and back lawn so that he could give an estimate. I sent the pictures as requested 30 minutes following our phone conversation. I received no response. I called this morning (5/19) to follow up and received a text message stating that they were on the other line. I am no longer interested in using Earthworks due to poor and untimely communication. I have reached out to other companies since contacting Earthworks and they have responded quickly and provided overall much more professional customer service. I would not recommend Earthworks to anyone.

I have now used Earthworks for all my landscaping needs. Earthworks has completed 4 projects for me and each and every one turned out incredible. Earthworks has a great staff and will follow up during the work to be sure everything is going to the customers liking. Jobs are performed correct with precision and your property is left in wonderful shape once work is completed.

Earthworks Landscape team has been a BLESSING to have. We were displaced from our home for more than 6mo due to Hurrican Beryl. Being a homeowner that did their own landscaping it was a worry of ours as far as not residing at the home and the upkeep of our lawn. Melvin and the Earthworks team immediately came to help take care of our lawn while we were not able to. Now that we're back in the home we will still remain customers because they do such a fine job! I would highly recommend 👌

Earthworks provides exceptional service! They are highly responsive and professional, offering comprehensive yard care, landscaping, sprinkler systems, and more to meet every landscaping need. I’ve relied on them for regular maintenance as well as numerous other projects, and they consistently go above and beyond to ensure satisfaction. My point of contact, William, is fantastic—always attentive and dedicated to getting everything just right.

The folks at Earthworks saved my backyard after my puppies destroyed it over the last 19 months. It went from a swampy mud pit full of holes to a beautiful lawn in 2 days. They cleared out the old weeds and a trash, brought in soil and regraded for drainage, installed new gutter for rain barrels then resoded the whole yard. Looks absolutely beautiful. I am over the moon happy with the results.

Listened carefully to my expectations, asked questions seeking clarification, offered quality suggestions, and delivered a quality product. Great people to work with would absolutely use them again.

They are terrible at cutting yards. They don’t move objects they just cut around them. They don’t edge my flower beds so the grass grows into my rocks. They don’t weed eat everywhere, they don’t even weed eat under our playground so the grass grows tall. They started out good, then got so lazy. We are also supposed to be a once a week schedule, but they come every 10-12 days on average. Our yard always looks out of control by the time they come. We will be switching services.

Earthworks performed a full overhaul of my backyard and they did it extremely well. We had a patio (pavers) added, old weeds/grass ripped out and graded, then laid with new sod, new border for flower beds, blackstar rock, new plants, and they even transplanted some of our bigger tree like plants for us. I think the pictures speak for themselves.
Garret provided a timely and reasonable quote and was a pleasure to work with to get everything set up. The team that came out to do that work was great. They regularly asked us if something was ok or looked good to make sure we were happy with the work as it progressed. They are very collaborative when coming up with solutions for tricky installs/changes/etc.
I would 100% recommend them to anyone that needs any kind of landscape work done, big or small.

I regret to say that our experience with Earthworks Landscape and Maintenance was extremely disappointing. My parents hired this company to handle various landscaping tasks, including the installation of a paver walkway, mulch, and shrubs. Unfortunately, the execution of these tasks fell far below expectations.

The problems began with the inadequate preparation of the area before planting the shrubs, as grass and weeds were not properly removed. Even worse, the mulch was overrun with weeds, indicating a lack of attention to detail. My Dad had to step in to rectify the situation by removing all the mulch and weeds, adding more soil, and planting sod in the area.

However, the most significant issue arose with the walkway installation. Despite being assured of a professional job, the walkway was poorly constructed, resulting in water pooling in the middle for hours after rainfall. This was due to improper grading, causing water to stagnate until it evaporated. When my parents raised their concerns, they were met with dismissive responses from William, who insisted that the walkway was constructed within industry guidelines and tolerances. His refusal to acknowledge the problem or take responsibility was deeply frustrating.

Adding insult to injury, there is already a crack in the concrete on the side of the walkway and my Dad was told they would only repair it if it worsened. This lack of accountability is unacceptable, especially considering the substantial cost of the project.

As the first home in their subdivision, my parents take pride in maintaining their property, and it's disheartening that Earthworks' sloppy workmanship and poor customer service reflect negatively on their home. Despite their reluctance to cause a fuss, I refuse to let them be taken advantage of.

In conclusion, based on our experience, we cannot in good faith recommend Earthworks Landscape and Maintenance. Their subpar work and lack of accountability have left us thoroughly dissatisfied, and we urge others to seek alternative options for their landscaping needs.

Update from my Parents

After posting negative reviews on social media and the BBB, Earthworks agreed to correct our poorly constructed paver walkway. Earthworks corrected the grading of a section of the sidewalk. Now, water no longer form puddles after it rains or my sprinklers run.  They also properly sealed the sidewalk by using a paint roller to apply the sealant. When the walkway was originally constructed,  the workers sprayed the sealant onto the sidewalk carelessly and caused unremovable white spots to form on the sidewalk.   After the sealant was reapplied with the roller, most of the spots disappeared and is now acceptable.

Overall,  I am now satisfied with my walkway.  It's still disappointing that Earthworks initially told me there was nothing wrong with the sidewalk and only agreed to fix it after we posted negative reviews.

If you want exceptional design and customer service this is DEFINITELY your landscaping company. Beautiful design, prompt service, Remick is a pleasure to deal with. He is on top of every aspect of the project. I will definitely use them for all my landscaping needs. Thanks from Danny & Tony

Earthworks did a great job. We had dirt work, sod laid and a few sprinkler zones added. Our contact William did a great job explaining the game plan and keeping me updated on the project.
