This is one of the best landscaping and design firms that Houston has to offer. The owners are helpful, genuine, and extremely skilled at what they do and they take the time out of their day to meet clients face to face to solve any problems that might have come up. They offer incredibly designed landscaping services that will make your yard look absolutely beautiful, and, on top of that, they will work hard to maintain your yards beauty throughout all of Houston's crazy weather! Haxel is awesome and I am lucky I have gotten to experience their work.

Best landscape architecture firm in Houston by far. I’ve had experiences with Moss and T&H before, and HAXEL is just better by every metric. They are super responsive and fully dedicated to delivering the best project possible. The maintenance supervisor Eli stayed in contact with me throughout the entire process and answered all of my questions. The owner Kristi is very kind and I could tell she really cares about the quality of work they do. I’ll definitley be recommending them to all of my friends and family.

Called a week ago and was told I’d get a follow-up. A few days later, I received a text in the evening, I responded and I explained my project. I was assured I’d get a call the next day with scheduling options. Instead, a week later, I got an email offering two appointment slots. I confirmed one, only to receive another email the morning of the appointment saying they couldn’t complete the job that they haven’t even seen and suggested I call one of their “trusted contractors” instead.

If you value your time, look elsewhere. If you enjoy delays and last-minute cancellations, this is the company for you.

Alvin, Tim, and the crew did a wonderful job cleaning up our yard and fixing things. We appreciate all the effort and care, especially with the all of the sprinkler repair and landscape lights that were buried within tree roots (some covered with ants). It’s treacherous work. I’m also thankful for the work adjusting the pumps to our water feature, clearing all the rocks to gain access and even thinking to take a photo so we could more easily locate them next time. I could go on with all the other details but, suffice it to say, we are impressed. We hope to set up some regularly scheduled maintenance with to keep the yard looking this way. Thanks again!

I called them twice and nobody ever called me back. Now at least I know why the lady who answered the phone sounded like she was doing me a favor by talking to me.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I called and asked for commercial property landscaping and the person who answered was rude. She said "I just talked to you and told you we weren't interested" My response was no this is the 1st time I have called but thank you for being so rude. Not a great way to get new business, I wonder how they handle their current customers if I was spoken to that way.

This is not allowing me to respond to the company's reply. If me asking "what is the process to get you all to come out to give me a quote on landscaping services" and her response was "umm didn't i just talk to you" when i answered no. She said that "you all are not intrested in retaining any new business right now" sorry that wasnt a misunderstanding and no telling how many people she has turned away. Maybe you should rethink your receptionist. If it is a line that you do not use then maybe you should update your website. I called the number listed there.

Professional and hardworking company. We live in friendswood and had our front and backyard landscaped along with walkways. They did a wonderful job and would highly recommend them.

I am a Landscape Architect and have chosen to work with Alvin and Universal Landscape for over twenty years. His company offers integrity, quality and follow-up to my clients, over and over, year in and year out. He is prompt, willing and able to achieve any design I come up with, softscape, hardscape, tree work or irrigation. He is not one of those contractors who is full of excuses when he is getting the project completed or asking for Add's to the final cost. I have found over and over, his prices have always been fair and reasonable. I don't know how many projects he has successfully completed for LANDESIGN, but it would have to be many. I am happy to recommend Universal, Alvin and his work. 4.22.14

In the 1990s my parents discovered Universal and we have been extremely pleased repeat customers for over 30 years. Knowledgeable, skillful, honest and friendly employees. They do an excellent job, and clean up very nicely afterward, and ensure you are pleased with each project. We highly recommend them!
