Chris and his team did a fantastic job on our backyard renovation. The final product is beautiful and functional, perfectly matches our vision and design, and adds more than the cost of the work to our property value and enjoyment of our home. I was particularly impressed with Chris's project management. Everything went so smoothly, from demo to irrigation, electrical, carpentry, and everything in between. Everything was perfectly timed and choreographed to keep the job humming. We are already thinking about our next project with Chris -- the front yard!

If you want a good quality putting green and want it done right, then Chris Helms is the guy for the job. I found Chris' company out on the web, and just sent him an email one evening. He called me the next day, we set an appointment to which he showed up right on time. He is a real nice guy, and his crew was just as nice. We agreed on a deal, and set a date. He actually started the job early, which was a good thing for me and finished on schedule. Even though I made some changes mid-stream he still stayed on schedule. Also after the putting green was cut and laid in place he saw there was an issue with the green ( a defect), pulled up that green and went and got a new one to replace the one with the defect. His crew was excellent, very friendly and very interactive. They talked to me throughout the process about what they were doing and answered all my questions. If I had to do it all over again, Chris and Helms Landscaping would be my first choice. I am so pleased with the whole proc

Chris and his team did an awesome job installing underground drainage from back to the front yard, artificial turf, and rock on both sides of the house. From start to finish in less than 4 days. Chris answered all of my questions (and there were LOTS) quickly and helped me to understand the products he was using and maintenance steps of owning artificial turf. The crew were very polite & cleaned up nicely each evening before leaving with a full clean up the day they finished. It was a great experience working with Chris and his crew. I would definitely recommend!

Chris Helms and company do great work and I would recommend them.

Chris’ humor and affable manner make him easy to deal with. He is quick to get back to you as questions arise. His teams are hard workers who take pride in the finished product. They always had a smile on their faces and were quick to change gears when we changed our mind about something without so much as a frown.

If I am being honest, Chris’ laid back approach works for him, but I struggled slightly as his organizational skills were not mine, but, then again, I am a project manager by trade so it might just be my standards.

I would definitely use this company again for future work.

We hired Chris to complete a pet friendly artificial turf install in January 2023 for our ~850 sq ft backyard.

Chris and his team are the real deal. They came in and totally transformed every inch of our 12k sqft lot, and we love every bit of it!

We did extensive research before deciding to hire Chris and his great reviews are well earned. Chris was incredibly helpful and responsive in providing suggestions for new plants and other design aspects. The whole project came together way better than I could have imagined thanks to Chris’ vision, attention to detail, and a couple of nice touches he added in that really demonstrate the quality of workmanship.

Chris and his team really did it all. They demoed our lot and reworked our grading to fix the drainage issues we were having, including by adding French drains and tying in our downspouts. Other scope of work included turfing our back yard with a diamond paver patio, a new driveway, relocating our wrought iron gate, concrete pavers, a gravel parking pad, new plant beds, putting in Zoysia grass in our front yard, and re-building our irrigation system. Chris even worked his schedule around some other work we had going on our sewer line. I will definitely be using Chris for any future landscaping project.

Chris and his crew did an outstanding job! We hired him to replace our backyard grass with turf and to demo and replace our existing patio with 3x3 concrete pavers and turf between them. He did some landscaping for us as well. We are quite picky, and anything we approached Chris with he was happy to accommodate. Always on time, very responsive, cleaned up at the end of each day. I would highly recommend Chris Helms. Very hard working. I would definitely hire him again!

I highly recommend Chris and his team at Helms Landscaping. The service and final product are outstanding! Their bid was fair and straightforward unlike every other bid we received. He started in the timeframe he initially gave us. His foreman, Milton, was very nice, professional, and detail oriented which made the process delightful. Everything he said he would do happened…and more. Changes required during the process were easy and they had great recommendations to improve the design. Chris and his team deserve 10 stars! We were moving into a newly built home and wanted the back yard turfed, along with pavers for the furniture area installed prior to moving in. I received three quotes and couldn't be happier with my decision! Installing quality turf and additional products is not an inexpensive task and you most certainly get what you pay for with Helms Landscape Design! The quality of their workmanship is A+!! I had quite a few special requests; Chris never said "no" but figured out how to get it done every time.

Chris did a great job landscaping and building around our newly installed pool and worked very well with our pool builder. The scope included turf, pergola, pavers, drainage, irrigation, and new plants/trees. Everything was done with high quality and he was prompt with his work. The turf looks great and big win for a lower maintenance yard. I recommend and would use again.

We utilized Chris and his crew for the full gambit of landscaping - grading and underground french drainage of the whole lot (tie-in of all downspouts, catch basins, drainage lines to front ditch), irrigation system, artificial turf prep and installation, new wood fence along the side and rear of lot with sliding gate, concrete walkway steps, and all of the final landscaping (black star gravel, dirt, plants, flowers, yews, and a Japanese maple).

To be blunt, we have very high expectations - realistic expectations, but generally expect people to deliver what they claim they're capable of delivering and hold them accountable to exactly that. Chris and the guys delivered. The quality of the drainage work, turf (prep work through final finished product), irrigation (with Rain Bird control), and all of the plants/flowers/shrubbery was very good. The fence sub could benefit from occasional QC checks during construction, but nominally satisfactory. Chris stays jammed up with work, which says a lot with all of the available options on the market. Patience is key. We made some improvements along the way on communication which also helped. Chris is a straight shooter and enjoyable to work with.

We're very happy that we got linked up with Helms Landscaping. Great experience overall, and very proud of the final outcome to put the finishing touches on our never-ending home renovation. Kudos to Chris and his guys for taking a lot of pride in the work that they do. It's getting increasingly more difficult to find folks like them. I would definitely vouch for and recommend Chris to anyone ready to tackle a landscaping project big or small.

Chris Helms - Never Not Working!

Chris and his team did a great job updating our back and front yard. I liked their recommendations and expertise with the type of plants, trees and lights to install. The staff while on site were professional and respectful. I appreciated the follow up after the work was done to ensure I was completely satisfied. I did bid them out against other local businesses, and by far price and value exceeded my expectations. Thank you Chris!

Chris did an outstanding job with our backyard landscaping. They added a custom large sized waterfall ( exactly looked like the inspiration picture we sent him). They also re did our turf and installed more sprinklers, lighting, added a second water feature by the sunroom and lots of trees and flower bushes. The plants are small size and will likely take 1-2 years to grow into their real size but we are very excited for our backyard to mature and look even more beautiful. Chris and his team are great with communication, very efficient. They finished the task in the estimated time frame. He acknowledged and worked on any questions we had during this process. Their prices are very competitive. Highly recommend using this company for any landscaping needs.

Chris Helms and his team did a phenomenal job renovating our backyard! We could not have had a better experience. It literally looks better than what we were expecting. Chris designed the backyard with some ideas I had in mind and made it into a reality within a couple weeks. Very accurate and detailed estimate and stayed true to it the entire time.
