Working with PODS was a nightmare. I would recommend you consider other companies to save yourself time, money, and headache. Once you agree to work with pods, you’ll be subjected to their lack of accountability, inability to keep Shipping and delivery time frames time frames dates of service, And penalized for any expenses, you encourage due to their incompetence. I strongly recommend staying far away from this company.
Everything after the initial pod being dropped off at the location went wrong. My container was not picked up on the day or time I paid for. Nor was it delivered or pick up from my Final destination on the date I paid and scheduled for. Despite being told multiple lies from representatives on my day of delivery in regards to my drop off time, having to call out of work and pay Movers two days in a row pods took no accountability . Instead of them listening to the “recorded and monitored calls” They wanted me to further prove Through itemized receipts about the expenses, I incurred. However they refused to provide me with itemized breakdown that justified a $63 dollar refund on a $2000 move with issues from start to finish. I will tell everyone I know to stay away from this company. -
If I could give 0 stars, I would. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with any company. I scheduled and paid for a POD storage unit a week in advance for Saturday at 12 PM. I even coordinated and paid over $100 for movers to help me load the boxes at that exact time.
Day of? The company pushed my delivery back to 4 PM — with zero regard for the movers I had scheduled. My movers couldn’t wait, so I had to scramble and pay again for new movers. Then at 4:05 PM, I find out that the POD wasn’t coming at all and had been rescheduled for two days later — without any notification.
When I called to ask what was going on, I was told the driver “just decided not to come.” Seriously? I had to be out of my house that night. No storage. No movers. No support. Just money down the drain and a ton of stress. They even had the nerve to try to charge me a cancellation fee.
This was a horrible, infuriating, completely unprofessional experience. Save yourself the chaos — never use this company. -
I had one of the worst experiences with PODS. They dropped off the wrong pod at my house and never told me. I had scheduled movers to unload the next day, and when they arrived, the correct pod wasn’t there. I had four movers waiting around for four hours at $20 an hour each—money completely wasted—while I waited for PODS to deliver the right unit.
To make matters worse, their resolution was terrible. They offered a poor solution that didn’t come close to covering the loss, and they refused to adjust or take real responsibility. The level of customer service was shocking—zero communication, no accountability, and no urgency to make things right.
If you’re considering PODS, be warned: mistakes are costly, and their customer service will not help you. Worst customer service ever. -
I opened my pod to move my items out and into my new place. I am highly disappointed, I will never use PODS to movers across country again. Several of my items are broken and we could barely get the POD open due to all the shifting. Definitely not worth the hassle or savings.

PODS is a FRAUD & THEIF!! They drafted my account twice > Nov 29th & Dec 9th after the POD was already picked up and has given me the runaround about getting my money back. They keep saying 3 to 5 business days every time I call. They took no time taking the money out of my account, but having me wait a month before I can get it back, bull crap!!! This is a HORRIBLE company and their customer service SUCKS!!! I don't recommend!! Try someone else.

I ordered two pods for delivery and only one showed up. The second pod was not canceled until 8 PM on the day it was supposed to be delivered, leaving me completely stuck!! This lack of communication and reliability caused a huge inconvenience. If you need dependable service, I would not recommend this company.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I did a move from TN to TX about 4-5 years ago with PODS and it went smoothly, no issues, and all was well. However, this time with scheduling another move, it has been a horrific train wreck. Multiple quotes were made and some quotes turned to orders without my approval. It caused a massive issue when I needed to change my move plans to a pod being delivered and then picked up and stored in a storage facility. The rep I spoke with, Fran, on Dec 11 at 932am had it all set up and I was to pay a total of $190 for the first month, delivery, and pickup, then I was to pay 97.30 for monthly storing- that was the quote. When I called back 5 days later to change the date, I found out that the quote was no longer on file due to the system canceling it. But the rep also told me that the quotes were good for 7 days, and I fought for 2 hours on this because they misquoted me. Essentially, Fran got reported, and then they were trying to fix my quote. I had multiple reps be rude to me, except for one named Jan Alan who actually tried to help me, and another one Ryan was extremely rude. Jan Alan said that they could get my quote down to what I was asking but id pay $111 per month for storage. Id get asked a question and then no answer, and eventually he transferred me to a manager, Abby employee #92059 , when I was transferred to her, they said it was nothing they could do and then all of a sudden the quote that Jan Alan was working on to keep me was no longer able to happen and they were going to charge me $170 per month to store and I told Abby that this was ridiculous. Fran messed up my quote in the system, and then PODS couldnt even honor what they told me. I have detailed notes of every conversation, and Abby was rude, did not let me speak, kept making me repeat the same answers, and would not budge on price on their issue. I told them to cancel all orders, and Abby assurred me 3 times that everything was canceled after i requested this about 4 times. I got a call today from Abby asking if I wanted to cancel an order that was on another account, when last night we went through them all and canceled them all. I am floored by the disorganization, the false quotes, the fact the system couldnt keep a quote for 5 days when their policy is 7 days, and then on top of that, the quote kept getting higher the more people I spoke with. The quotes do change, and based on nothing different in my plan. They lie, dont let me discuss my concerns, did not listen to my needs, and then kept putting new quotes in my account so that no other representative could follow what was happening. Terrible company, horrible customer service, and I honestly am so shocked and baffled they have such a terrible customer service, and they dont follow through with what they say. When I go on the company website and order a move, the website even quotes me for $111 per month, but somehow when I spoke with a manager it was an additional $60 per month to store it. Sickening..
Furthermore, I tried for 2-3 hours to try to get this resolved and no one could help me- not even management. Even when someone would ask me "can you explain to me what is going on?" and I would give them a run down and summary, they would cut me off in the middle of it and try to get me to stop talking. They do not listen, and honestly save the headache.
My quotes ranged from $190-$2043 in a matter of 2 days. Everyone was rude, condescending, and did not help in any capacity. -
I thought I was prepared. I had a plan, professional movers, and a container scheduled at PODS on Sep 25, 2025. I was recovering from an organ transplant, so hiring movers wasn’t a luxury—it was a necessity. I physically could not load the container myself. Or so I thought.
What happened next was beyond belief. I arrived at the Brookshire location at 3pm to find hours posted on the window that were completely false (See photo), staff on the phone giving contradictory information, and even Google showing incorrect hours. An employee outright refusing to allow us access AT 3PM! My movers, ready to work, stood helpless as I was denied access to my own container. Hours ticked by. Stress mounted. My body, already fragile from surgery, was drained just from trying to navigate this chaos.
The fallout was catastrophic:
$1,189 in movers’ labor went to waste because we had to move everything back into my apartment. Just imagine the tears and frustration of an entire days work and over a thousand dollars to be in the exact same place you were that morning.
$211 for a U-Haul rental to salvage the situation. Where my partner, and A STRANGER, A LOCAL FIREFIGHTER ON HIS DAY OFF helped us load up the U-Haul to then access the POD all over again the next day. Which was CRUNCH time, because we were also shipping our car across country and flying out with our cats the following day.
And a note, if you do think that this isn't of concern to you, it's worth mentioning they put your container in the middle of a parking lot with no shade. So just imagine heat shimmers surrounding you as you load up your POD on a 100 degree day, with limited mobility and nothing fueling you but anger.
Endless stress and hours of wasted time, all because PODS could not provide a service they were paid to deliver.
Even after all this, customer service insisted I provide documentation that had already been submitted and treated my situation as a minor inconvenience. The container was accessible the next day, but the financial and emotional damage was done. I've reached out for a claim after providing all the necessary documents and they seem to be playing the deny, delay, defend game even after recognizing that they provided me with incorrect hours.
This was not just a bad day. This was a complete systemic failure: misinformation, mismanagement, and blatant disregard for customers who are vulnerable, paying, and relying on their service. It could happen to anyone. Anyone who thinks hiring movers and planning ahead will protect them from disaster—think again.
If you value your time, your money, and your sanity, avoid PODS at all costs.
