The accessory building construction for a pool house is fantastic. It has a changing room and storage for chemicals. The structure matches the house style perfectly. It keeps the pool clutter out of the garage.

We hired Lowes Home Services to renovate our master bathroom, and we’re blown away by the transformation. Everything was done to perfection—from the sleek tile work to the new fixtures. The crew was punctual and professional, and they kept us informed throughout. Our bathroom now feels like a luxury spa!

Kitchen worktop repair on our quartz counter removed a stubborn stain and some etching. They buffed the surface back to its original shine. I’m relieved we didn't have to replace the whole slab.

They replaced our old interior doors, and every one fits perfectly. The contractor took their time aligning each frame and made sure the finish looked clean. Very friendly and reliable team.

Our small pantry remodel turned out fantastic. New shelves, fresh paint, better lighting — everything feels much more organized. The contractor really understood how to make the space usable.

Nightmare. Where do I start? I'm not sure how they got such good reviews. My project manager was nice but I figured out he basically said what he needed to say to get the sale. Backing up everything that was said was another story. The third party contractors that they hire are not skilled workers. You can tell that they hire the cheapest possible people and hope that the customers don't call them out on the shoddy work. I would ask to see licenses of the workers because I was told they all were verified in electricity regarding work that was done but, now that I'm asking for the electricians bill with the license number from my project manager, I'm getting no response. Most of those guys speak very little to no English and probably a lot are illegal. The way the project manager catered to them not wanting to finish work they were asked to do, leads me to believe they weren't getting paid much. And if they were getting paid a lot, I don't know why it was like pulling teeth to get anything done right. The roof doesn't look straight, the gutters weren't working after the first hard rain, the bathroom was a disaster to finally finish. I owe it to others to let you know this place is terrible. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. I wish this experience on no one. I have pics of everything if you want proof.

They did a full interior repaint for us before we moved in. The lines between the ceiling and walls are razor sharp. They worked around our moving schedule which was stressful, but they made it work. The fresh paint made the house feel like ours immediately.

We needed drywall repair after some electrical work, and you can’t see the patches at all. They textured the wall to match the existing surface perfectly. Painting over it was easy. Real professionals who know their trade.

We had two projects handled by Alex & team, both were handled professionally & promptly. The first was a concrete slab to house a shed, this looked amazing when finished. The second was some electrical work to remove an old (very old!) A/C power switch complete with old round fuses, and rerun the cabling and route this to the main fuse box. Very pleased with the work done & the time it took to get this scheduled and completed. Will definitely use them again when our next jobs come up.

Our basement stairs were squeaky and steep. They rebuilt them to be safer and more solid. No more creaking when I go down there late at night! They also added a nice handrail. Simple job, but it made a big difference in daily usability.

They installed a new sliding glass door and a big bay window for us. The trim work inside and out is flawless. We noticed immediately how much quieter the house is, and no more drafts! The installers were polite and cleaned the glass perfectly before leaving.

Lowes did a bathroom remodel for us. We got rid of the tub for a double extended shower. Simon and Max were great! We ran into some other issues during the process and they were great helping us get those things done within our budget.

Lowe’s just completed a bathroom and bedroom renovation plus installed new flooring, gutters and downspouts and stained the fence, patio covering and car port. I couldn’t be happier with the job they did. The bathroom and flooring are perfect. I’m very impressed with the quality of their work and the entire job. Everything was done very professionally. Mike and his entire team were great to work with. I’ve contracted with them to work on the master bath now. Looking forward to the transformation of the master bath.

I had a great experience with Click Plumb & Heat in Richardson, TX. The technician arrived on time, explained the issue clearly, and fixed my water heater quickly.

After being highly recommended, my parents choose GBDB to build a second garage with an upstairs apartment. The process started out well enough, but many problems occurred during the build. Specific requests were ignored and/or arbitrarily changed, e.g. putting in radiators (one of which is too long and prevents an adjacent cabinet for from opening completely) instead of baseboard heating, putting in expensive finishes in the garage and installing a blower heater at the base of the stairs into the apartment that were not asked for. A gas line for the dryer was requested, and installed, but then workers came in and removed the gas line and installed a 220 outlet, without checking that this was wanted (it wasn't). That was corrected, but then the water line to the washer was not properly connected, which caused a leak and sheet rock damage. That was also repaired, but caused an unnecessary hassle for my elderly parents. Many requests for follow up fixes have been ignored. I could go on... Frankly, I believe there was some ageism going on, and the loss of the original project supervisor half way through the construction process did not help.

We selected Gerber Berend to build our home based on three factors: They are a design build operation, their projects around town kept catching our eye, and an interview with the principals that confirmed that their core values matched ours. The entire process from start to finish was seamless.

Jeff, David, and the rest of the design crew listened carefully to our stated goals. Their initial massing design met all of our expectations and they had the tools to easily communicate their vision to us; primarily through the use of 3D modeling. They followed up with focused design that resulted in a house that enhances our lives through efficient layout combined with artistic detailing.

The build crew management team including Hans, Burt, and Skip and the job site crew led by Jim with Martin, Matt, Doug, and many others executed the design perfectly. Their attention to detail and obvious craftsmanship delivered us a house that exceeded our expectations. And almost two years of occupation have revealed very few failures of execution and those that did surface have been addressed in a timely fashion. And as situations arise, as they will with any project, they are still responsive to issues, including ones that had nothing to do with their efforts.

Furthermore, GBDB works with a highly competent crew of subcontractors that represent some of the finest teams in the valley. And my personal interactions with the subs revealed a level of respect that I believe is rare in the construction industry. Even with the disaster of Covid happening in the middle of the build process, we moved in only 21 days after the originally promised delivery date.

If you are looking to build a fine custom home in the Yampa Valley, I believe that working with Gerber Berend Design Build is a logical choice that you will not regret.

We built a new home on Ski Trail Lane just below Lower Valley View that was completed in late 2017. Gerber-Berend was was intimately involved in the conception, design and detailed architectural drawings of the house, and handled all of the construction. Their work on every aspect of the process, from conception, design, construction and follow-up was beyond superb. Over four years later, we still are in awe of their work every time we arrive at our vacation home. The thought, creativity and passion that went into the design was incredible, and the craftmanship and attention to detail in the construction was perfect. The house still looks and feels like it did the day we moved in, and we have no doubt that it will look just as good 30 years from now. Equally importantly, it was an absolute pleasure working with the owners, Jeff Gerber & Hans Berend, as well as Bert who supervised the construction, David, who worked with Jeff on the design, and Martin, who worked on much of the finishes, as well as their entire staff, all of whom treated the project as if they were building their own home. I still consider all of them as friends. And even four years later, although the company has been incredibly busy, Bert and Martin are always available when I have a new small project or to do minor repairs. Bert routinely stops by or calls to make sure everything is good. If you want your new house or renovation to be everything you dreamed of, you will not do better than Gerber-Berend. They are the best!

We hired GB to design and build our home after seeing some of their previous work. We had heard good things when we chose them and worked from start to finish w their entire team. Architectural, interior design and full turnkey construction. It was a big project and we were fairly new to Steamboat, so we were a bit nervous. Yet their team was outstanding from start to finish, every person on their team we worked w was professional, detail oriented and cared about the project. They just did outstanding job throughout and we couldn’t be happier. We’ve been here over a year now and most import, the accountability for the few issues post build has been incredible where they see things we don’t and are on it before we even notice. Really a first class organization. One of my best friends is an architect in AR and stayed w us recently and left just complimenting the details he saw they built into the home. Really thankful we found this amazing firm here in Steamboat.

Gerber Berend did a major remodel and an addition for our home in Old Town. We couldn't have asked for a better finished product we ended up with a showcase home. They were on budget and delivered the home to us within the timeline that we had originally discussed. Through the design process and the changes we made during the construction, they kept us informed and aware of the cost. I felt we had received a very good value and our home appreciated much more than the cost of the project. In the end, we received the home of our dreams and Gerber Berend exceeded our expectations. We will use them again for our next project.
