The prices here a very competitive. The staff seems very busy but not rude. A very large selection and plenty of parking. I was able to find what I was looking for with ease. Highly recommend and you can order online easily and pickup is in the front main building.

Update: Covington's reached out and remedied the situation. We remain loyal customers!
We purchased several flats of Vincas and they are all dead or dying. Theyve been watered and taken care of from day one.
I have been buying from Covington's for over a dozen years and they won't rectify the situation. Home Depot would. Sad to say they're losing my business on something they could easily fix. -
Covington's people were very polite and respectful when they came out to plant my newly purchased tree, and had the tree in the ground in no time. They gave very specific instructions on how to take care of the tree so it would last for many years to come

We went looking for trees and we left happy. Santiago gave us great advice and now we’re waiting for the delivery, planting and then enjoy our Maple trees. Covington Nurseries is a top notch place for the garden and my soul. It brings me joy just walking through it and having helpful associates heightens the experience.

Go to place for Specimen Japanese Maples. They have good selections and pricing. Don't forget to be a member to get their 10% discount. They are very pleasant to deal with as well. Definitely worth the 45 minute drive from the house

We’ve been visiting (and purchasing from) Covington’s for almost two decades. Our dogs have all known the staff here. We’ve always gotten great advice from them and they designed the initial landscaping for our home. Our current dog looks forward to visiting as much as we do. There are other fine nurseries in the area. None are a rite of the yearly calendar like Covington’s.

I’ve loved Covington’s since I moved to Rowlett back in 2003. I’ve always had the best quality and longevity in their plants. I truly love their knowledge and their great customer service.
Today Lynne spoke with me for a long time, answered every tedious question I had. I have NEVER, in 20 years, had a bad experience here.
You get what you pay for. I’ll happily pay more to support this local small business than a home improvement store any day. (Photos of my favorite plant i got from Covington’s, my tropical hibiscus) -
Mickey was very helpful and knowledgeable, and they have a lot of quality plants on sale in the 1/2 price section.
Excited to have found my nursery and I can’t wait to return! -
First time here today and loved it! Amy helped me pick out flowers for my front yard and was so sweet with my toddler. Fabulous customer service, nice selection, convenient location. Glad they open at 10am!

I got a black thumb and I gotta say, I absolutely loved the superior customer service here!!!!! I had so many questions, got lost on their 9 acres and to top it off, had no idea how to pick the right trees to replace the ones I lost during storm 🙄
Came there and everywhere I turned, there was a happy and knowledgeable face to help me! Once I got to the right tree section, Sammy drove me in the golf cart and we rode to see the Crepe Myrtles! So many to choose from but Sammy helped me pick the best looking two!
Check out was smooth and everything was explained so thoroughly!
I paid to get the trees delivered and planted. They’re about 6 weeks behind on delivery but it’s worth the wait since the trees are insured for a year once installed!
Discounts for buying multiple and being a member.
They sell firewood here too! Rocks! And I saw a 1/2 off tent! I wished it wasn’t raining so badly but I’ll have to hike back here again!
Loved my experience here! Thank you team!!!! -
This place rocks!!! I've lived in the area for 10 years and never been. But a friend suggested me Covington's products to help with my weeds. My friend's lawn is beautiful and he says after several years of using the same products I use, he was recommended to use Covington's products and hasn't looked back.
So I'm trying it out. I went to get products for my weeds and ended up getting some ground cover for my flower beds and curb appeal.
I was quite surprised at the size of the establishment. They are on 18 acres of land and they have a variety of plants, trees, shrubs and even the products for weeds.
I was not out walking for a minute when a person in a yellow T-shirt walked over to help me. I had a lot of questions and she answered them. Then she pointed me to the plants that suited my description of what I needed--because I wasn't sure what I was looking for.
Then as I was getting products for my weeds, the gentleman that helped me there was very knowledgeable. He was helpful and went above and beyond just answering my questions. He explained a lot to me and how to care for my yard and stop my weeds. 👍
I enjoyed the friendliness, the knowledge and the customer service of everyone I interacted with. They were also very helpful! I'm glad I discovered Covington's! 👍👍 -
Absolutely beautiful and healthy plants! I love it here! Will definitely be back! They even have taste plants! I'm so excited to come back!

I had such a great experience at Covington’s Nursery, and I have to give a special shoutout to Rheagan! She brought my dying monstera back to life… literally. It was struggling badly, and she took the time to gently repot it, refresh the soil, and even gave me tips to keep it thriving going forward. You can tell she really cares about plants and people.
The entire staff at Covington’s was incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment I walked in. It’s rare to find a place where everyone is so helpful and genuinely passionate about what they do. The vibe is warm, the selection is beautiful, and the service is top-notch.

We have always loved coming to Covington’s but had a very unfortunate experience recently. We were the last customer at 5 pm on a Sunday 11/2/2025 and checked out at 5:01 pm. The gentleman sitting on the carts asked us if we needed any help. We told them no thank you and proceeded to put our plants into our car. About 5 to 7 minutes, went by and we got in the car and left. However, when we got to the gate, it was locked. We soon realized that every exit was closed off and we were locked inside the parking lot. I was eventually able to get one of the chains free from one of the exits, but at that point, we had to call the police because I had broke the chain connection. Eventually, the police came, got our ID’s, and contacted the owner so that they could close off the entry. My wife left a voicemail with her information, explaining the situation while our baby daughter was crying at the top of her lungs in her car seat . Not to mention, she had a blowout and we had to change her entire outfit. While we understand things happen, we have not even received a simple phone call from them apologizing. We have spent a lot of money there and were disheartened by the lack of accountability. HEB literally called us today because our $3 whipping cream was expired. Mind you, they had already sent the refund!

Covington’s Nursery and Landscape has wonderful staff who are very knowledgeable and friendly. The place sells shrubs, trees, flowers, rocks, dirt, mulch and garden/gift items and selection is superb. Today bought 21 cast iron plants which are difficult to find to complete my cast iron bed. Highly recommend. They are on President George Bush Freeway in Rowlett.

This is an excellent nursery. Prices are fair and the staff are friendly, happy to answer any questions, and very knowledgeable about their plants. The entire place is huge! They have a greenhouse and large selection of flowers, shrubs, cacti, and more sitting on 18 acres of land. Many varieties of annuals, perennials, fruit trees, and more. So many options to choose from. Covington's also offers landscaping services and in-store pickup for online orders. Highly recommend.

Covington's has the biggest selection of roses that I've ever seen in a nursery. Mikey was super knowledgeable and took his time to hang out and show us the whole collection. His tips on caring for outdoor bushes, roses, and fruit trees were very helpful.

Worked with Greg to select the Chinese Pistache trees. He advised it would probably be 2 weeks to deliver. It took 10 days and then Dylan and was able to come out and do a fantastic job with installation. Have been back twice. Really cool place with a wide variety of plants. The first impressive thing you'll notice when you visit is the amount of knowledge the staff has. 5 stars

I am so excited to receive my 2 Tuscarora Crape Myrtle trees today from Covington's Nursery and Landscaping, Rowlett....
The installation crew did an excellent job with the install. The space was marked with Covington's flags and Tx811 utilities clearance, weeks before work took place...
The team of 3 installed both with precision; the trees are staked and prepped for great growth and this whole process had no hiccups...So pleased with the install, professional crew, and Covingtons for providing these beautiful, healthy trees for my home landscape...

Victoria helped me find a plant that worked best for my busy mom life. She was so sweet, and understood that I can’t keep a plant alive. But with her great knowledge and help I have officially kept my plant alive for like 5 months. Thank you Victoria! I would’ve left this review sooner, but now with the weather changes I truly believe she is the reason I know how to take care of my plant. Covingtons plant nursery is so lucky to have such a knowledgeable, personable individual! Thank you Covingtons, and Victoria! - signed a Audrey Ficus Plant Mom :)
