Total waste of my time. After 3 - 4 visits to my house to take measurements, two months later and they still couldn't deliver the promised quote or renderings for replacing and enlarging several doors and windows. After three months and an incomplete quote, it was apparent they had no respect for my time or interest in the project. It would have been better if they just passed on the job. Total lack of communication and follow through. I ended up approving a $145k budget with another design and build firm. Rhino may do good work (do they?), but good luck actually getting to the point where they do anything. Stay away. Your time is valuable. Find another contractor that respects that. You deserve better.

We decided to convert our sunken shower into a ground-level shower. It was a small project and it was difficult to find anyone interested in the task. After contacting several contractors, resulting in no call-backs or being turned down, we came across Rhino Design Build. It was the best decision we made.
Danny looked at our project and gave us a detailed description of how the conversion would take place. He stopped by several times throughout the conversion to check on the progress, insuring that the work was being done properly and to our satisfaction, always answering any questions that we had.
Antonio, his sub-contractor, did an amazing job. He is an excellent craftsman,
“measuring three times, cutting once”. He is a true artisan. He protected the flooring and carpet immediately before starting the project, taking great care to protect our floors and home. He and his crew are respectful, honest and trustworthy. Upon completion of the project, Antonio and his crew removed all debris and removed all the protective coverings they had installed.
We would highly recommend the Rhino Build team to anyone who may be looking for a knowledgeable, dependable, and caring contractor. You could find no better.
At the end of the project, we have not only a superb job, but a new friend!

Rhino Design Build completed a beautiful addition on my home last year. Our experience with Danny and the Rhino Design Build team was excellent. The team was very responsive throughout the planning of our project, which was transforming a two car carport into a guest house for my mother-in-law—literally a mother-in-law apartment. Beginning with our first meetings with Janelle and Jon to discuss our needs and our preferences; then working closely with Janelle and Antonio on each phase of construction, the team at Rhino went above and beyond to make sure that we were happy with this large project that included the addition of a full bath, a half bath, a complete kitchen remodel, conversion of garage to mudroom/laundry room, and adding a walk-in closet and beautiful kitchenette to the existing casita in the back of our property.

We engaged Rhino Design Build to create and build a carport at our Alamo Heights home. Janelle (project manager) and Antonio (builder) were easy to work with, efficient once we got going and in the end, the carport exceeded our expectations. We will definately engage Rhino again for any construction needs.

This project started in December of 2018 with us interviewing four GC’s with the goal of taking a 453 square foot existing structure “casita” and making it handicapped accessible and livable for my dad who is 100% VA disabled. Although, from the outside, it looks very simple to take a small existing structure (shell) and convert it to a livable space this project involved working through a ton of approvals which I will talk about below. The reason we chose Danny and Angel at Rhino was their professionalism and being able to handle the project fully from conception to completion. At the end they delivered a beautiful turn key casita/mother in law suite that my dad can live in independently. The home is located in the historic Lavaca Neighborhood approximately 3/4 of a mile from the Alamo in downtown San Antonio. The original house was built in 1891 remodeled in early 2018 when the casita shell was built. It was sold to us with the idea that it could be left as is as a shed or easily be converted to a MIL suite/casita. The full scope of the project included building a wrap around treated wood deck with built in wheelchair ramp, new stamped concrete driveway, all plumbing, electrical, gas line, tankless hot water heater, water softener, finishing out inside.

The project got started in January of 2019 with the VA paperwork since this was through a VA grant. Simultaneously the project was submitted to the historic district and to the City of San Antonio to get permit approvals. We faced many hurdles getting approved. Hurdle 1: The casita was built originally with no permits and on the property line. This required a variance to be approved by the city and panel of board members and all neighbors within 4 blocks adding a couple months. Hurdle 2: Since the casita was built with no permits the city required an engineers letter to gain certificate of occupancy. Long story short we had to lift it up and hire another company to add 16 additional piers to the already existing 16 piers that was supporting the casita. This added 1 month to the project. Hurdle 3: City of San Antonio historic approval, we went back and forth with the wrap around deck design. Angel joined me on multiple city meetings and provided all CAD designs, plans etc. Overall the work really started in January of 2020. Once we got those items out of the way and full historic approval the actual construction time period went pretty smooth, about 3 months.

Danny and the team handled all the sub contractors efficiently and once the walls were closed up everything happened pretty quickly. All the subs were top notch and did great work. Overall we would highly recommend Danny, Angel, Antonio and the team at Rhino. I have included a lot of photos of before and after.

Dhani and his associate did a great job in fixing issues with our sprinkler system. I plan on using their services in future such as for replacing our sprinkler controller with a Wi-Fi enabled one that I can adjust remotely.

A sprinkler head was slowly leaking for a couple months. I got the original company that installed them to come out and “fix” the problem. The charged me a little over $120 to come out and the problem was still there. They were trying to charge me again just to check out the issue. Fortunately Tidy Construction Services came in to actually solve the problem! The owner came over around 8:30pm and fixed everything within 30 mins. Definitely will use them again for any future needs!
