I've had Freedom Solar for over a year now, and have no regrets. We even threw a block solar party with our energy consultant Renee Rose. Renee was super positive and easy to work with. We invited friends over, and they got great information about solar in a calm, low key, party atmosphere. Renee had quality conversations with our guests, as opposed to doing some kind of infomercial style presentation, and our guests appreciated that.
Some of them have even decided to go solar, which is a win win for everyone, especially the environment.

Renee sold me my Freedom Solar Panel System and we are 75% complete with it and scheduled for completion on Sept 19, 2024. Renee has been very easy to work with--she is responsive to my questions in a timely manner. In fact, she is helping me host a Freedom Solar Block Party on Sept 14, 2024. I am so far very excited with the support that Renee provides and look forward to a long and lasting work relationship. I give Renee an A+++ rating. Mickey McPherson

We put solar panels on our house hoping to utilize the natural resource the Sun to help offset our burden on the power grid. Unfortunately, we are currently paying more money to have very pretty paper weights on our roof. Our sales person claimed our average bill would be about 150$ as PEC only allows 60% of the power to come from Solar but the projected number of panels is more than half the number of panels we need and we pay in excessive of an extra 180$ a month to have these "energy" and money saving worthless panels ( Our ave power bill is $340 and we pay $220 for the solar panels. Our bill without panels would be $380). I wish I could say we are happy with Freedom Solar but after multiple emails and asks for support and being told we were under projected I have been told its not really their problem. So do your research, know what your average power need is and make sure you get a sales rep that actually knows how to project power need so you aren't adding something that does not provide what you were promised. And if it were me stay away from freedom.

Everyone at Freedom Solar we've worked with have been nothing but exemplary! Being a typical homeowner we've encountered plenty of services companies and usually once the deposit check is cashed our level of service drops considerably. That's certainly not the case with Freedom Solar, we worked with Andrew in sales and he's been absolutely stellar! Not once were we pressured to purchase as we were making our decision and he was always ready to help with any questions. Once we signed the contract, throughout the entire process Andrew has always made himself available and goes above and beyond to make sure our concerns and questions are addressed. The installation crews that have come out have been fantastic as well and are all super friendly and make themselves available to help answer any questions. Trey and JV especially did a superb job in the installation of all the equipment and the pride they take in their work certainly shows! Certainly do your homework when picking a solar company as it is a significant investment but had I known the type of service we'd receive from Freedom Solar wasn't just lip-service then I would've signed with them a lot sooner!

Getting solar panels is one of the best purchases I've ever made, and Freedom Solar Power's customer service is absolutely top notch! When I had to have my entire roof replaced and the panels had to be removed during that work, the roofing company reinstalled them incorrectly (unfortunately). Freedom Solar Power went above and above my expectations and got the system back up and running quickly and efficiently. I love it when my electric bills are under $20/month!!

The explanation with Rene was good and the process was so easy. The installation team was very punctual. My electrician was quite good even though I had to change some 240 V breakers because they were incorrectly combined. The service was very good in general but I feel that the system does not meet my expectations. I will be re-evaluating in several months and conclude if this is really a good investment considering that I do not have a backup for the nights…

My experience with this project is without question the least stressful that I have experienced. Starting the day that Renee Rose came to our house on time and with a pleasant demeanor presented a very thorough explanation of Freedom Solar Power and what it can do for us. I was kept abreast of the key installations elements by Jose Pina, Robert Bennie, and Jacob Reyes. Their work was professionally accomplished efficiently with a clean work environment. It was a pleasure to do business with FSP.

Update 05/24/2025

Unfortunately my review is dropping and it is no fault of Renee but of the company itself. I have had about 15+ issues since I posted my initial review. What’s changed? At first my system was constantly having micro inverters go out. Was told I had to reset the breaker and bam I’d be good to go. I was also told that even tho my system is showing the error, I would still be getting power. Both of the statements were proven false. Fast forward to three weeks ago (pushing a month), my inverters were still showing offline so Renee got a team to come out and fix it. I was at work when they came but bam, checked the app and my system was green (thank god). I thought I was good to go. Yea no, about a hour later I checked to see if I collected any power (being hopeful) saw that not only was I missing out on the full benefit of my system, I was also greeted with a new error. That new error being a meter issue. Thank god. Glad I have another problem. So now I have to wait for someone to contact me next week and hopefully figure out what is happening because on the app… it’s looking like a warzone with orange taking over everything. I am only giving this company a 3 star because of Renee and the fact that she is trying her hardest to get my system online. However the mechanics of the system and everything else need worked on.
So, probably like many of you I was nervous about solar. What happens if the installation causes a leak or am I really gonna be saving money or will I be throwing money away.

Renee not only answered these questions but gave my wife and I every single fact that comes with solar. She was professional and knowledgeable which made a huge difference for us compared to their competitors. Renee was able to show us how many solar panels we needed (no she didn’t upcharge us) and show how the solar would save us money. I would 10/10 recommend going with Freedom solar and requesting to work with Renee. She not only help with the sales part but also helped (and still helps) with any issues I face.

We have installed solar panels with Freedom Solar on two of our houses. First house, 12 years ago, performed great and never had an issue (but only lived in it 5 years). Now, Aug 2024, we are having major issues with a roof leak and getting no help from their service team. They keep putting us on hold for long periods and getting us nowhere. They say they will call back and they don’t, they don’t respond to emails. They scheduled an appointment with us to fix the leak and didn’t show up! This company is not holding up to what they promised which is quality, install and customer service. None of those things have been given to us. We spend thousands of dollars and this is service we get! Don’t waste your money with this company.

I had an excellent experience purchasing solar with Renee Rose as my Energy Consultant. I am confident she truly with all of her heart believes in helping the customers get the best value and product, and, as a result, feel great about going with Freedom Solar. She went above and beyond to make sure that I am getting the best care and product. I am writing this without having seen the finished product on my home but I am also confident they will deliver! Will report back!

The Jalepanel poppers were great. Got the job done with no hiccups or interruptions. Didn’t leave a messy front or backyard. And the panels look really well placed on the roof.

I had an a opportunity to meet with Michael Downing, the Energy Consultant of Freedom Solar Power. He was very knowledgeable and professional as well as personable. He gave good advice for me as a customer. He has been also available anytime that I have questions or concerns. He has directed me to the right direction to get help or service. Those staff I am glad to have him as my representative. Freedom Solar Power Company should have more employees like Michael.
I have Solar Panel since beginning of May 2024. So far, it is running good. Thank you for other staff member, beside Michael, they also knew their stuff very well. And they worked around my schedule. Definitely I would recommend this team to my family & friends

Freedom Solar has been great with us. We had prior panels from a prior owner and the Freedom was able to see about upgrading our system. Renee Rose as our Energy Consultant has been amazing. Working tirelessly between CPS, our old company and getting our new system. She does her research and makes the experience personal for a client. Without Renee we may have never upgraded.

I can't say enough good things about working with Renee Rose. She's been outstanding from the start. She’s professional, accessible, answers all my questions promptly, and makes sure I fully understand all my options. I’m very grateful for her support and highly recommend her services.

Great work and relatively fast with all things considered! Everyone was very eager to complete the work and Brian was very supportive through the process. Even PEC moved quicker than expected.

Shane and his team were great! Shane was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all my questions when it came to solar. He was also very patient with me as we went back & forth a lot on design and how much energy I actually needed produced and still have it be in my price range. Once we got to a point where everything looked good the rest of the team was great. They came out and installed the system and did it in such a short amount of time that it was unbelievable. They have been very good with communication and everytime I called they made sure they found an answer to my question or concern. If they didn’t know they actually would call back with answers after the fact. It was great knowing they would deal with all the paperwork for my HOA & all the city/utility paperwork. Overall I had a great experience and would definitely recommend Freedom Solar to friends and neighbors.

I wanted to take a few minutes to tell you about the terrific experience we have had with Ms. Renee Rose, our Energy Consultant from Freedom Solar Power. She reached out to us a couple months ago asking if we might be interested in expanding the solar array we bought 2 years ago. I told her that we had considered adding a second phase to that solar system, but that our experience during the installation of that system was less than wonderful and that we would not be inclined to have the same company come back. Rather than getting defensive, and not pressing on with a sales pitch, she asked for and dug into the details of the issues we had especially where some specific things that we thought were going to be one way were done another “because that is what needs to happen”. After listening to our war stories about the original installation she asked if she could come by and have a look to understand the issues. Wewere happy to accommodate her but were expecting nothing to come from it.
She really did listen because when she arrived, she had done some checking into our original install plan and agreed that it was not what should the final installation should have looked like. We talked then talked about what we were considering for a second phase (adding panels and batteries) and she asked if she could work up some options. In just a day or two she presented us with some options that were really just what we were looking for, and she said that she was sure that they could make the corrections to the original install when the second phase went up if we went forward. Her presentation was professional, and focused on us and not the pushing the most expensive option, and she had included the revisions to the original installation. We said “Let’s do it” and signed the contract.
When the design documents arrived and were not exactly what we had talked about (we thought here we go again) , we notified the designers and also notified Ms. Rose. She immediately stepped back into the equation and ensured that the communication issue we had at this phase was cleared up right away. We are now just about finished with the permitting approval phase and looking forward to the additional 29 panels and 2 Tesla Batteries being installed.
Bottom line is that Ms. Rose empathetically listened to our concerns, assured us that she would be in our corner every step of the way, and laid out a great slate of options for our consideration. Through her diligence and focus on getting it right, she singlehandedly brought us back to Freedom Solar Power for this 2d phase of our solar power system, and we can’t say enough positive things about her. She really is a teammate rather than a vender/sales rep and that is refreshing and something for her and her company to be proud of.

Ricky really helped me and my family out with his fantastic service. Very knowledgeable and easy to work with.

We have had a great experience so far. Communication from the office could be better, but the install electrician and his helper were great. Jacob Reyes and Christopher Messick were so helpful coming up from the San Antonio branch so our Austin project didn't get delayed. Overall it's been a smooth process.

I am writing this review to say that my experience with Rene Rose has been an extremely helpful venture. I truly believe that she will ensure my entire job from start to finish and beyond will be done in a professional manner and in a way that makes me feel like I am part of the Freedom Solar "family".
