We had five trees on our property that needed to be taken down, one of them was a huge willow tree. Jose’s prices were very competitive, he was knowledgeable and easy to work with. Once we decided that his company was who we were going to work with, they came the very next morning ready to work. Jose and his crew worked very quickly, did a great job cleaning up, and even helped clean up around the willow tree that I had piled up to be thrown away. I would highly recommend DSI and would definitely use this company in the future. Thanks guys!

I received bids from four arborists to have two spruce trees removed from my front yard. My experience with DSI started out with 5 stars, which is why I went with them, but it quickly devolved. Here's generally how it went:

7/15 – 5 stars - Jose responded quickly, visited with me about the job, wrote up a low-priced quote because he wants to earn my business.

7/16 – 5 stars – I messaged Jose asking him to specify on the bid that the difference in price for my two trees ($450 for one, $200 for the other) was for the stump grinding, which we had talked about. Also asked to keep all the wood: logs for firewood and wood chips for mulch.

7/18 – 3 stars – The DSI crew came. I showed them where to pile the trunk pieces and mulch. They took down the two trees and removed deadwood from the third. They cleaned up okay, and loaded all the branches on a trailer. We clearly had a miscommunication about the woods chips and mulch. I got the impression that his crew is used to a certain process for tree removal and cleanup, and when I asked for something different, Jose said what I wanted to hear and then did things their regular way. They did cut the logs to 16”, so that was nice. The stump I didn't want was still in the ground and Jose said they would come back to grind it out once the utilities had been marked. He said they had called Blue Stakes to mark my property on 7/17, and it usually only took a few days.

7/19 – 2 stars – No utilities had yet been marked, so I called Blue Stakes myself and discovered there was no order for my property. I started the order and texted the ticket # to Jose for his reference.

7/19-7/29 I sent four text messages and received no reply.

7/29 I called Jose and he asked me to send pictures of the utility markings. I realized Provo City Power had never come, so I called them and the city employee came that afternoon. As he marked the utilities, that are on my neighbor’s side of the fence, he said we were good to go to grind out the stump.

7/30 I texted pictures of all the utility markings to Jose and asked to get on the schedule for stump grinding.

7/31 I received this message: “We have u already on the schedule, next time he is out it’ll get done.”

August into September – 0 stars – I sent a series of texts and voice messages for the stump grinding, most of which weren’t returned. Some of DSI’s responses were that his guy wasn’t comfortable with how close the utilities were, that stump grinding wasn’t on the bid, and then, that I was on the schedule for 9/10.

9/10 – No one came, but Jose said he would have a subcontractor reach out to me since his own stump grinder was too big.

9/12 – After meeting me in person and looking at the job, the subcontractor came this day with his huge stump grinder and took out the stump. The whole operation with set up and clean up took half an hour; the actual stump grinding took 8 min. I paid the $240 I'd agreed to with the subcontractor because I was desperate to have that stump out.

9/13 – I sent the stump grinding invoice to Jose and asked if he’d be willing to reimburse $50. When he had taken down the trees I’d again asked him to write the stump grinding on the bid/invoice. He said, “That’ll be so quick. It’s only like $50 of work,” and didn’t write it on the invoice. I figured the cost difference for the two trees represented the stump grinding and it wasn’t worth pressing the issue.

9/13 – 1 star - Jose called at 8:22 p.m. while I was at a show. He left a voice message expressing surprise that the subcontractor had charged so much. He implied that wasn’t right and asked me to call him. I returned his call a few days later and left a message for him. No reply, but I’m fine just dropping this whole matter because I can finally replant where the stump was ground out.

At the end of all this, I spent about as much as I would have with the other arborists…but I doubt any other company would let it drag on for two months.

Jose was professional and affordable, and I enjoyed working with him. He and his team removed four large trees and trimmed another. Upon request, they took a stump down as low as possible. They cleaned up everything beautifully and you never would have known they were there. Showed up on time, as promised and work was completed quickly and professionally. I highly recommend DSI for your tree removal needs.

I contacted DSI to come out and give me a quote to trim trees and bushes in my yard. He came to my house the same day, gave me the quote and came out the very next day to do the work on my trees. Not to mention the fact that it was Memorial Day. Jose and his team did an awesome job in my yard and I would recommend them to anyone

I absolutely recommend DSI Tree Service. They are consummate professionals from beginning to end. I have a large lot and had some enormous trees at the very back that had reached the end of their life cycle. I had other tree removal companies come out to take a look and they wouldn’t even give me a bid. The job was just too difficult, enormous and dangerous. Jose came out and assured me that he could remove the trees. I could go on and on singing their praises but I’ll just list the highlights. Their bid was reasonable, they were on time, worked hard and were safety conscious. They did everything in their power to mitigate damage to my surrounding landscape and cleaned up everything after the trees were down. There is nothing better than working with pros and DSI is the real deal. I will definitely use them again in the future.

We reached out to DSI about trimming our large tree and about removing a tree that was in our deck and close to our home. Jose came out and took the time to review and assess our trees then gave us a fair quote. We felt comfortable with his knowledge to do the work safely and professionally.

The day of trimming their crew, in a matter of a few hours, cleaned up our large tree and removed the tree in our deck. Jose got right up into our tree with climbing gear and a chain saw. He was knowledgeable and advised us on the trimmings. We were impressed with their skills and there was no damage done to the surrounding structures or fences. We would recommend them to others.

On time, efficient.

My experience with Delta Pro has been two-fold. I have used them because we have hired them for professional cleaning of new homes and because they were so good at work I called them on several occasions for personal jobs. They are outstanding.
