Electrical reviews in Sandy, Utah

Service was completed in a timely manner despite the challenging nature of the problem.

Absolutely outrageous prices. You are definitely getting ripped off by using this business. Please avoid them if you can.

Quick service! Called back the very next day and gave me a price quote. Performed the service the very next day. Answered the phone every time I called and had great service and follow up on the service.

Carl was very professional when doing electrical work for my hot tub. I will ask him again to come . I have referred him to other people .

They did such an awesome job. Very friendly and fast service ! The price was good too! I will always recommend them to family and friends. (: thank you so much.

I needed an outlet installed. They came to give me a quote, it was less than I was expecting, then they installed it right then. It was great, so easy!

This firm and its own are liars, cheats and thieves. They took $25k, did less than $5k in work. Demanded $15k more, and attempted to put a lien on my property (which the courts threw out as fraudulent). I’m now suing this agency for damages. Do not work with this agency, they will only cheat you.

Justin was Amazing, Very very professional. He got here pretty fast and went straight to work. Very hard worker and even painted the spot where the fan was when it wasn’t in the job Description. Did an amazing job!!

Shady as hell...
I’m dealing with the IRS because Carl withheld money for taxes from my husband’s paychecks, but the IRS received nothing🤔... we filed 6 months ago and still no return because he lied. We’ve been on Carl for two weeks and he’s still blowing us off on getting us the paperwork we need (we only have 30 days to prove he actually worked there and paid taxes). He’s a dishonest conman. And he’s screwing over my family. -
We were in the middle of a project and needed some wiring out of the way. They responded quickly (for a cost, of course), but the work was done well and they were able to meet the tight timeline. Special nod to A.J. Ginger, who seemed extremely knowledgeable and professional.

We requested service in wiring a ceiling fan remote on a holiday not anticipating a response so quickly. The electrician came within a few hours and did a great job! We found them on Thumbtack. Thanks!

Very disappointed and ended up with nothing working. When lucent arrived everything was working. For safety reasons, I simply needed an outdoor outlet replaced with a GFI. It required disconnecting the street lamp. I was charged $229! I've since had another electrician (well known company) get things up and running for half the price. Admittedly, it seems it was not straightforward. But lucent cost was out of line.

The technician was prompt, very up front with all charges and professionally and quickly found and fixed the problem. I would definitely use Lucent Earth again. I normally do this kind of work myself because of the care I take when others don't and the technician treated my stuff as his stuff. Very happy.

I stumbled on them by accident, I needed an outlet installed behind our new dishwasher. I called in the morning, they had Dave come out by the afternoon. He was professional and suggested a better solution than I was thinking, and since it was simpler than originally thought, he didn't charge me the full estimate. In and out in about 30 minutes, what more can I say - they came through for me and I'll probably use them again. Thanks!

After having troubles with another company- I called Lucent Earth about a duct I was told needed to be hooked up and fixed. Lucent Earth came out quick and they were upfront and honest with me. They saved me $600! They told me the duct didn’t need work and it was an old duct that wasn’t being used anymore. They could have scammed me for money but they were HONEST! So refreshing. THANK YOU.

I would give them ZERO stars if I could. The "electrician" who came to help was really a con man. He came to fix my grandparents' Ring doorbell, which was already purchased and installed bin another company, but not recording video. He spent hours wasting time making phone calls and working in the attic. There was absolutely no reason for him to be in the attic when all of the Ring equipment and software is on the device on the front door. He charged them $861 to fix a stupid little doorbell!!!!! He took advantage of my sweet senior grandparents. He swindled them out of their time and money! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DISHONEST ESTABLISHMENT!!!!

Spoke with Carl 2 weeks in advance to schedule Lucent Earth electrician to come do a small job at my residence. They scheduled me for a 4-hour window on Friday morning. I’m a doc and took off work, waited, and they were a no call and no show. I tried calling them during the last minute of my window and they didn’t answer. They could have called and notified me that they wouldn’t be able to come but they didn’t. Will be finding a more reliable company. Don’t schedule them if you don’t want to wait several hours for no reason.
-
I made an appointment with Lucent because I had lost power in my house (which included refrigerator, sprinkler system, master bedroom, etc...). They scheduled me for the following day: 12-4. I made arrangements to be off from work during that time, which also meant I had to go in to work at 6 am. As I’m driving home for my Lucent appointment, I’m notified that they need to reschedule later that day (or the next) because their guy is running late on another job. I reply back that I need them “today”. What do I hear back from Lucent? Nothing! I wait at home and no one from Lucent shows or calls. Now I’ve got an appointment with a reputable company I can trust. I can 100% that Lucent rates an “F” for Communication and for “Customer Respect”, which means they also probably rate an “F” for “Quality of Work”. Losers! Lucent is worthless scum lower than fish chum.

I wish there was an option to rate zero stars.
I talked to Carl on a Saturday. I explained I needed someone to come out and start up my swamp cooler and do maintenance on it. He quoted me a price of around $80, and I scheduled the appointment for the following Wednesday.
Carl, and a younger guy showed up, got up on my roof, then came down and told me we needed a new pad. That’s when this whole experience went downhill. He starts quoting me prices for the work, and it turns out the fee for swamp cooler start up and Spring maintenance is $199, not the $80 something he quoted me on the phone. In addition, there’s a $38 “dispatch fee” that does not get applied to the cost of the job. The description under that justifies this charge saying they send licensed professionals with “fully stocked vans”. Like I should have to pay extra if I want someone who is licensed, and shows up ready to do their job?
He then explained that for him to replace the pad it would actually be over $500 in total. I just stood there bug eyed in disbelief. After consulting with my husband, and out of desperation, we reluctantly agreed, with the understanding that when it was all said and done, our swamp cooler would be working perfectly, and we would no longer have water cascading off our roof.
Carl said that they we’re going to Home Depot to get a new pad. They were gone for 3 hours. When he returned he told me they didn’t have the right pads at HD, and he’d have to special order it. Turns out the pads for our cooler are crazy expensive, but we talked about it, and he told me he could order one that was much less expensive, and trim it to fit our cooler. I agreed.
10 days after Carl’s initial visit I get a call from another technician who says he has the pad and can come out and put it in. Great!
He gets up on the roof, installs the pad, then comes down and tells me we need a new float (a $15 part), and he has to go to Home Depot to get one (what happened to a “fully stocked van”?).
He was gone for almost 2 hours. When he gets back he says “I probably should have discussed this with you before I went to HD, but the charge for replacing the float is $350.” I. Was. Dumbfounded. I was like, explain that charge to me. How can you justify that cost? He said he couldn’t explain it. That’s just what Lucent charges, and he had no control over it. Keep in mind that this is a $15 part, and takes about 5 minutes to install. He weakly tried to justify be saying he had to take the time to go to Home Depot. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME??? What happened to the fully stocked van I paid $38 for?! I told him no way I was paying for that float replacement. I asked him if he had performed all the other things described in the spring tune up service. I got a wishy washy “I looked at everything and it looked good.”
In the end, I paid over $500 for this “service” and the leaking is now worse than before they came. I received an email with a request for a favorable review. I responded and explained my anger. I got no response. So, here’s my review! -
This place was not cheap, but they were the only electrician to return my calls. There ended up being a scheduling snafu on the first try, and nobody showed up on the second try, but they got someone out to my house on the third try. The technician was great. He did solid work in pretty short order, and he didn't try to make the problem sound worse than it really was or upsell to a bigger service job. The service reps on the phone were really friendly too. Just the pricing was hard to swallow, so between that and the scheduling snafu, I can't give them 5 stars.

Carl was friendly, thorough, honest, and didn't pressure us to buy. Because of his assessment, we ultimately did decide to purchase a new furnace and air conditioner, so that the larger and more efficient equipment will be better able to heat and cool our entire house, after we renovate the garage. We were so pleased with Carl that we intend on paying him to help us with both the ductwork and the electrical when it comes closer to time to renovate, too. Thank you!
