I am only rating this a one star because I can't give them zero stars... This company is a JOKE. My husband called them in March after getting a flyer in the mail advertising 50% off of their normal prices if you call that month. We needed some help with our lawn (too many weeds, it was growing too thin, we wondered if we had bugs?), so we thought it would be a good idea. When my husband called, he was told that they would come out once a month for the next six months to apply certain chemicals and fertilizer to the lawn to help it grown more healthily. This sounded great! The downside... 50% of the regular price was $392.62!!! That was crazy! We paid it, hoping for the best, but we have had no great results to show for it. I am attaching a picture of my lawn in August (so four months into this process). Note the lack of grass (dead grass) and the weeds/flowers in my lawn.

A couple other things... They never came on their own. In order to get them to come monthly, we had to instigate the visit EVERY TIME. And they have no customer service phone number, so you have to wait to chat with them within the app, and there were multiple times where their office closed while we were in the queue to chat with someone, so we were dropped from the queue and had to start again another day.

The first time they came out, we wanted to talk to them about their plans, what they were going to do, etc., so we wanted to be home when they came. They never called to arrange a time, so when they showed up, I saw them outside and went outside to chat with them. When I went outside, the worker was fertilizing my lawn with one hand, while smoking a cigarette with the other. When he saw me coming, he threw his cigarette ON MY LAWN, and stomped on it to put it out. I'm sure that definitely helped my lawn's health.

Bottom line- they came out six times, once each month, which I had to initiate, with really no change from what my yard looked like last summer. Really all they did was fertilize for me each month for nearly $400. SAVE YOURSELF $400 AND GO TO IFA AND BUY YOUR OWN FERTILIZER!

I hired Trugreen early last year to treat my lawn for weeds. After the first two treatments everything went well. They would provide updates about what they did and after a week or so the weeds went away.

After that though, I would get charged for the normal service but the updates on the treatment stopped coming and the weeds came back with a vengeance. It legitimately seemed like they never actually came but continued to charge for my subscription. I finally cut my loses and decided to cancel. Since they only let you cancel over the phone I would call and the call would get suspiciously dropped before I could ever connect to someone after following the prompt to cancel.

Once I got ahold of someone they were polite and helpful and I cancelled my account on 8/8. Trugreen has called me at least twice a day every day since. It's very annoying. They are acting like a clingy ex-girlfriend who can't just let go.

Have you ever wondered, is trugreen a good company and can take something off my plate with weeds on my lawn care? Well, that's what I thought and was hoping for. I'm here to tell you that they don't. This company is just a giant headache and does not take care of your lawn. I'm pretty sure they just come out and stick the sign in your yard and leave. Getting them to come back out to try again, don't even waste your time. I definitely would not use this company ever again, even if they paid me to use them. My entire lawn looks like these two pictures.🤦‍♂️

I prepaid for a full year of TruGreen lawn services, and after all that time, my lawn looks no better than when I was maintaining it myself. It’s still yellow, full of weeds, and has grub issues that should have been addressed. While TruGreen was consistent in notifying me when a technician was scheduled, the actual service visits felt rushed and ineffective. Overall, I’m very disappointed and cannot recommend TruGreen based on my experience.

Hired them to take care of our lawn while my husband was undergoing cancer treatment. The lawn was just getting worse and worse each month so we finally waited and watched during the visit, which they’d always do very early in the morning, and caught the guy sitting in his car doing nothing for 20 min during the time he was supposed to be treating the lawn. Turns out they’d treated our lawn once or twice and were just sitting in their cars, then marking the visit complete, all the other times. Thankfully a manager refunded us, but because they destroyed our lawn (reseeded with crab grass, caused weed growth, and let the rest die) it’s never been the same since. It’s been a pain to deal with. I wish I never would’ve hired TruGreen and truly feel scammed.

Adam the manager was great. Communicated and followed up in timely. Manner I had problems in the past with true green and was planning on canceling my service until Adam got involved.

They billed my credit card for a full year in advance. I don’t know anyone who gets paid a year in advance. Do you ? rather than the single treatment. I didn’t agree to that. On the upper part, Ian was a great guy very friendly. Very told me what he was gonna do and got right to work.

I don’t know what has happened but this company has changed. I have been billed for services that have not been provided. I specifically signed up for grub and weed control. My lawn is full of weeds and moths. They always send someone out to treat again if I call and complain but I have to walk the yard with them and point out the weeds. They also advertised they will treat crabgrass but when the technician comes he says they don’t have anything that is effective against crabgrass .

I used TruGreen for total lawn care, overseeding, and aeration, and unfortunately, I've been very disappointed with the results. After using their services, I noticed that I lost 40% of my grass and my backyard is now overrun with weeds.

I was expecting TruGreen's services to improve the health and appearance of my lawn, but instead, it seems like they've made it worse. I used their services and I'm still seeing a lot of bare patches and weeds.

Disappointed in the service that we've received over the last several months. The phone numbers go to a national number and reaching a local rep is almost impossible. Our requests to be notified ahead of time as to the date and time of the service have largely been ignored. The technicians seem marginally trained. The lawn is still full of weeds and looks no better than when we fertilized and cared for it ourselves. We canceled the service and today saw our credit card was charged for services never received.

Took a year plan a months ago , service was quick and care was completed quickly . My lawn looks worst now. Not sure what happens. You can see the patches which i never had in the photo. Not sure what they put and how it reacted. Disappointed.

We love the difference in our lawns health since switching from another company to TrueGreen. I always used Trugreen when I lived in TN. I married into this lawn and I was surprised at it's lackluster appearance, but I just thought due to desert. Then, I happened upon a flyer in the mail. I switched immediately. So very glad I did! Excellent job. My husband wasn't thrilled to switch...He is so happy with the obvious changes. Home sweet home. We are unable to do the work age and disability.😁😁🤩🤗

4 years of service that declined year over year so we decided to cancel. We weren’t seeing any results with our service and the technicians were going way too fast to be doing their work properly every time. (about 5 minutes on our property from start to finish of each service) Patricia in customer support was a delight to work with and was incredibly cordial about the whole process. I think as a company you owe it not only to your paying customers, but to great employees like Patricia to be the best service you can be, so they can be proud to work where they do. As is, you are unfortunately letting them down in my opinion. Thanks again to Patricia, and if the rest of the company and service operated at the level of quality that she did, we would have been far more likely to continue our service.

After three years of service, our lawn never looked worse. On two occasions the aeration service destroyed a sprinkler head costing me $150 each time to get the sprinkler replaced. Canceling the service was an unpleasant and unnecessarily difficult experience.

I could make this review extremely long, but I’m not sure it will do any good. To sum it up I got treatments for 10 months consistently. I still have weeds in my yard. I personally feel like it was more than when they started. I called and asked for a retreatment which I didn’t get, I was told my account would be credited it wasn’t. After them calling me twice for payment and me requesting to speak to a supervisor because I was not getting the guaranteed improvements for the credit on my account. I finally canceled. That was weeks ago. I am still waiting for a supervisor to call me back, but I just received another phone call about my outstanding balance that was supposed to be credited since I did not receive the services. Oh, and when I canceled my account because I still have weeds after 10 months, I was told by their agent that they don’t guarantee any improvement in your yard until month 13 so they expect you to pay for their services for over a year before they actually start the year lawn.

We signed up last year and this has been a terrible experience. The lawn looks worse. Every attempt to contact the local branch ends up being routed internationally with 0 ability to speak to a local person. Their sales pitch and marketing promise does not match real life. Exorbantly high price for 0 results and customer service is non-existent. EDIT: Trugreen response below was an offshore, international voicemail message with a phone number we returned, which again, went directly back to the offshore international call center. Since last year, we have had 0 ability to speak to a local human, even after requesting calls from the 'service technicians' claiming their branch manager will call us. This photo is lawn since hiring them last year.

Edwards Tavear and Corben Crossley aerated and overseeded my lawn today. They came within the specified time frame and introduced themselves and informed me of what they were going to do today. They also informed me of next service schedule. Very professional.
I'm looking forward to a beautiful lawn each season with Tru Green care. I signed up for the complete lawn care. So far so good.

    stay away.
I am so very disappointed in this company. We set up two plans, one for our previous home, and our current home. They screwed up. They appear to have done pre emergent on our previous home, which they said they wouldn't do it, because they were going to aerate, and put in seed pods in the holes to help bring the lawn back. They never aerated, likely didn't put the seed down... but they ignored our (their) instructions.
We contacted them over a week and a half ago, after we looked and realized that they made it so we couldn't grow from seed, and they said they'd have a manager contact us. Nothing.... crickets....
we call again... and again, they said they'd have a manager contact us.... meanwhile, we can't continue as planned, because the yard has pre emergent on it. We will likely end up having to rip everything out, and scrape off the top few inches + of soil, and put down sod because of them.
save yourself some grief, and go with someone else.

Terrible! I prepaid for 8 treatments. I had zero weeds when they started in the spring but I did have some thin spots. I’ve apparently received 4 treatments, according to their records. In the 20 years I’ve lived here, I’ve never had so many weeds, brown spots and bare spots. Their customer service is just as poor as their lawn service. I asked for a manager or owner to meet me for an evaluation on my lawn but their customer service told me I have to wait 10-14 days for someone to come out. I’m afraid my lawn is going to need to be ripped out and replaced because at this point there are more weeds than grass. And don’t respond with an email address to send my complaint to again. You ignore those. I will take this review down and give you five stars when you address the problems and give me five star service. This service isn’t even deserving of one star!

I have been using Trugreen’s services for many years, now at three different homes. When I moved to this home last summer the grass was thin and full of weeds. Most of the weeds are gone and the grass is thickening up. I expect this lawn to become as beautiful as my last two TruGreen lawns.

Burnt Lawn, Broken Promises, and Zero Accountability

Absolutely disappointed with this company. They completely burnt my lawn while applying fertilizer, and the damage was obvious and severe. I reached out to their customer service multiple times, and while they promised they would make it right, nothing ever happened.

It’s not just the lack of results—it’s the total lack of accountability and follow-through that made this experience so frustrating. After weeks of excuses and zero action, I finally decided to cut my losses, cancel their service, and take matters into my own hands to fix the lawn.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company—especially the West Jordan location. Terrible customer service, poor application practices, and no sense of responsibility.
