He is extremely generous with his time answering my questions & addressing my concerns about safety, even on the smallest jobs. He is focused like a laser on customer satisfaction. I had no choices because of an emergency so I called Richard electric out to remount a fallen meter from a storm. 2 technician spent hours at my house to do the work. I was a little surprised it took so long but I didn't have a lot of choice. I had to have another electrician come out to update service and he discovered that none of the work they did was up to code. They billed me $1300 to put 2 8' grounding rods in, but they just put about 2 feet in the ground and cut it off. They spliced the ground wire in violation of code. When I called to talk to them after the new electrician and inspector discovered the violations, they sent me to voice mail and never returned my call. By the way, the second electrician replaced everything they touched and upgraded my entire service by himself in the same time it took the other 2 to put a 2' rod in the ground and replace some screws. I will never use Richard electric again and will tell anybody that listens about this experience.

Do NOT use this company for any electrical work; they will cheat you out of your money. I unfortunately had dealt with them twice. I had a failed kitchen outlet and a 3-way switch that was only turning on/off at one side. The tech fixed the switch without issue. However, when it came to the outlet, the tech spent at least an hour taking apart all the outlets and going up to the crawl space to try to find the problem. After spending all that time, the tech finally decided to call another tech to bring the actual equipment that would locate the problem (a tracer). Once the other tech arrived, they found the problem right away within 5 or 10 minutes and fixed the outlet. If the tech only used and brought the proper equipment in the beginning or a more knowledgeable tech was sent, they wouldn't have wasted time which ended up costing me extra for the "labor," totaling $519.46. The main reason I advise you not to use this company is after a few months the 3-way switch they worked on broke. I called them and asked if the broken switch is related to the work they did before. If it was then they'd cover it, if not I would have to pay for it. However, he would not tell me over the phone and give me a straight answer. Said he would have a tech come in 2 hours to take a look. He did not say he was going to charge me just to send someone over. Especially since it could be related to their previous work. After I hung up I was going to call them back and tell them to forget it, but the tech showed up within 10 minutes (they are only 8 minutes away from me). Since the tech showed up right away, I just asked if the broken switch is related to the work from before. The tech said no and said they would charge me if I wanted them to actually take a look. I said no since I was going to have someone else do it and told the tech to go. The tech did absolutely no work, just answered my question that they couldn't do over the phone. They sent me a bill for $132 for doing nothing except answering a question. This would be understandable if there was no possible relation to their previous work, and the tech actually took out some equipment and did something. But they didn't; I only asked one question in which the tech answered me and was in and out of my house in 5 minutes. This company will find ways to overcharge you and charge you for just asking a question.

I called on Tuesday, my call was returned Wednesday morning and Mike was at my house at 1pm the same day. Mike went over and above to meet my needs, which were urgent in nature, and gave me solid advice for future projects. This was the very beginning of April so he was kind enough to let me know that they were coming into their busy season, so they might not get to me as quick as they did this time. Which is completely understandable and reasonable. Thank you Richard Electric and most importantly Thank you Mike, you have yourself a new lifelong customer!!!!

I had used Richard Electric last summer and although they aren't strong on communications, they did the job satisfactorily. However, this year I had another job for them and they promptly sent out two technicians to see the scope of the work and to come up with a quote. After 4 or 5 days I asked when I'd receive the quote and was told I would by the end of the week. But we left on vacation so I forgot about it until I returned 2 weeks later and emailed Tim Martin again asking for the quote and availability to do the job and they've ghosted me ever since. If they didn't want the job they could just tell me but to go radio silent is just bad business. UPDATE: Tim Martin reached out to me some weeks after my experience with them and apologized for not following through. He explained what had happened and I accepted his apology and will give them another chance next time I need any electrical work done.

We are so thankful for Richard Electric. Right after moving into a new home, our propane stove started to leak. We were adamant we wanted to be converted to an electric stove. We had a few other estimates that were way out of our budget, and it seemed increasingly apparent it was a complicated conversion in a finished house that not many electricians either wanted to do or had the time to do. Richard Electric was able to get out to us within a week, they provided a very reasonable estimate (and then stayed under it), and were able to do the work within a week from that. The electricians that came to the house were so kind and professional. And our new electric stove has been working perfectly since they left. Despite all the crazy expenses of things, and limited availability of trades since Covid, these guys made it feel like the good old days. Honest, fast and professional service. They will be our family’s electrician company moving forward. Thanks guys!

Will not be using Richard electric again. The electricians themselves were knowledgeable and friendly but without it being communicated to us ahead of time they sent two electricians for the job. One was an apprentice but that means that we were charged 2 hours service for the electrician as well as 2 hours service for a level 1 technician. When I called to ask if this is something they normally do I was told ‘yes-in order for them to get new electricians they have to train and pay them’ maybe this is typical of this industry? I think they should definitely give customers a heads up about this ahead of time so we don’t have to unknowingly pay to train their employees.

It took a couple days for someone to return my call but once I spoke with Tim, he got me scheduled immediately. He also text me to confirm I was scheduled. The next morning 2 very nice and professional electricians Olivia & Grace showed up to install a washer outlet I had been stressing over for several days as I was told it could be difficult to install. They quickly got to work and explained the steps they would take which put me at ease. They completed the job and cleaned up everything. They also surprised me by doing a few extra items as they noticed my dryer outlet needed to be tightened and patched. They did a great job and I would definitely use this company again and request Olivia & Grace.
