Rock Water Farm far exceeded my expectations in every way. Brittany is great to work with and took a lot of care designing a space that worked for my family, and her crew executed the project flawlessly. I get a lot of compliments on my backyard space and I recommend them to everyone. RWF are top notch.

I moved into a new home in Ashburn at the beginning of the year and knew I needed professional help for my lawn. I have 3/4 of an acre and the lawn was looking sad. After reviewing multiple companies I chose Rock Water Farm and am very happy with the service they provide. I definitely recommend them to anyone looking for help with their lawn.

August 2018 Update: Shortly after the review below was posted, the owner contacted me and arranged for a site visit. He and his lieutenant took the time to walk my entire property listening and understanding my concerns.
They seemed genuinely interested in making things right going forward. After that discussion, the service level did improve substantially...... and I certainly appreciate their efforts. Recently, it seems that some of the attention to detail (i.e., trimming weeds around the edges, blowing off the pavement and deck, and cutting to the property limits, etc.) have become a little lax but overall the service is better and usually reliable. I did ask for a special service to trim some overgrown bushes and take care of the adjacent weeds. The crew was very responsive (Thanks Sue!) and did a nice job.

May 2108 : Our property (about 3 acres) has never looked better but it is not easy keeping Rock Water Farms on track. The management appears to want to do a good job but the employees that actually do the work are often unsupervised and not informed about special circumstances and requirements. Things as simple as knowing the property limits for mowing while avoiding freshly seeded areas that their other crew did earlier in the week. Crews don’t seem to understand comprehensive services just I do my job- the next crew does theirs. The description of their standard contract services are ideally written and are hard to apply to our property. We are not located on a 1/4 acre lot in a dense subdivision - it feels like the company struggles to handle our size and needs. Consequently the services are expensive and are often sloppily applied. Their invoices are summarized in a way that you can’t really evaluate actual services and hours worked. We decided to try these guys for two years as a trial to see what they can do - we have to be one of their most lucrative customers ($10-$15K/yr) but we surely don’t feel like it. Probably need to shop around next year!

Ever since we moved to Virginia Rock Water Farm was in charge of our lawn care and landscaping and did a fabulous job. From time to time our neighbors comment on the good work. Jay Dembeck was the key person behind the beautiful garden we have. Always responsive and obliging. It was a pleasure to work with them.

Working with Rock Water Farm and Kyler Lahti has been great! They designed beautiful new landscaping for our front yard and were very easy to work with. Very professional, friendly and quick on communication and turnaround. Would definitely recommend and use again.

Rock Water Farm did a Spring Clean Up for us a couple of weeks ago and did an outstanding job! The crew was friendly and professional. They paid attention to every detail in the yard and the price was the best around! I highly recommend them!

We have been using Rock Water Farm for landscaping for several years now and they installed our stone patio and much of our landscaping. In all honesty, Rock Water is a little more expensive than some, and for that reason we switched to a different landscaping company last year....and it was a BIG mistake. My husband and I realized about half way through the season that the new company, while less expensive, just didn't provide the same level of service and didn't bring the same level of expertise about lawn maintenance, soil composition, etc. In just that short amount of time, our yard started taking a significant step in the opposite direction. We switched back this year and couldn't be happier. We live in a neighborhood, where like many neighborhoods in NoVa - all the house kind of look the same, so the best way to set yours a part is with curb appeal - and Rock Water does a fantastic job with curb appeal. Our yard is something we are proud of and love spending time on our beautiful patio, which was a vision that Todd helped us make a reality.

Rock Water Farm is taking care of our yard and landscaping. They always have time to stop and say hi as well as explain their current work and any applicable project information.
The management staff are closely involved and visit regularly. Our yard and house have never looked better. Sincere thanks to Todd and Dave and the staff !
I will be glad to provide regular input/reviews.

Bottom Line: Great customer service sets Rock Water Farm apart from the competition.

Living in Northern Virginia is a unique experience. Sometimes, it’s difficult to get people to call you back when you have some work that needs to be done. So we were shocked when they called us back quickly, even after explaining that we lived in a town home and the job was going to be very small. What’s most impressive, however, is the consistent level of customer service we receive from them. At one point, after the crew left the house I noticed some poison ivy crawling up the house, I called them and in no time they dispatched someone at no extra cost to finish up the missed spot. No questions asked, no concerns, they took care of it right away. They treated me, a customer in a town home, with a small yard, the same way they would treat someone who lived on 10 acres.

It’s also worth mentioning that we receive regular holiday cards from them AND at the start of summer we received a free watermelon with a note attached, thanking us for being their customer. How great is that!?!? Companies don’t take customer service serious but I can tell you first hand that Rock Water Farm does.

We had a small job of some landscape cleanup that was just too difficult for us to handle. Brittany Kosinski was absolutely great to work with! She came out, took a look at what we needed done and the next morning it was complete! They crew did a beautiful job and they came in under budget. I honestly could not be happier. 100% money well spent!

The Rockwater Farm crew is very reliable and does an excellent job with our weekly mowing, as well as, several one-off projects we have done. We have used them for several years and highly recommend them.

Rock Water Farm Landscapes did an amazing job at our home. Our flower beds were horribly infested with weeds. They pulled the weeds, treated the beds, and laid fresh mulch. After almost two months, the flower beds still look amazing. Their crew was easy to work with, and very friendly. Thank you Todd and everyone at RWF for a great experience... See you in the fall!

I started using Rock Water Farm for lawn maintenance last fall and loved their service and quick response to any question I had. This spring sealed the deal for me. They've always done a fantastic job but I had a rabbit nest in my front yard and was concerned about it being run over. The guys went above and beyond to ensure that the nest was protected and even got down on their knees to hand trim the grass with clippers around the nest, ensuring it was not disturbed but the lawn still looked great.

This is exceptional service and I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for lawn care.

Rock Water Farm is a terrific team that handles all of your needs in a very accessible, friendly family manner. Even if something is not perfect they will come back and make sure the job is completed to your satisfaction. True resolve. Jay, Andy and team will also work with you to provide consultative assistance to make sure everything looks great all year round. Todd and his team at Rock Water Farm are consummate professionals who take great pride in their end product. Rock Water Farm installed a beautiful salt water pool as well as an amazing patio and landscaping. Their plant sourcing and knowledge is outstanding. Can not recommend highly enough!

I found Rock-water farm very unprofessional. We used their service for landscaping work around our house in 2020
After a year, I noticed some of the shrubs didn’t come back, so I reached out to them for replacement ( per contract shrubs will be replaced in such scenario) . I even spoke to Todd about this but no follow up from him either . It was very frustrating so I ultimately gave up but wanted to share my experience.

Update: I wanted convey my sincere thanks to the Rockwater Farm team for promptly replacing the shrubs around our property.

Since we moved into our new home three years ago, we have been using Rock Water Farm for all of our landscape needs from routine lawn care, including seasonal mowing and fertilization programs, to hardscapes and exterior lighting improvements. They have always delivered well supervised, quality work that has been performed on time and at a reasonable cost. We highly recommend Todd and his team.

Did major work of hardscape of fieldstone in the front and back of house. Superb. Could not be more pleased. And I am a hard grader. Reliable, professional, courteous, timely, highest quality work. Am having them do another major project.
