Northern Virginia Landscaping removed our old steps and built a much safer and prettier staircase/patio. They offered several ideas and worked with me to come up with exactly what I wanted. Excellent communication!! Everyone was very friendly and the work was fabulous!

Just finished our patio with NVL. Very happy with how it turned out!!!!! I am pretty impressed with this group of people and how they worked throughout the project. The process was very smooth, from design, quote, execution to completion, I was kept abreast every step on the way. Any questions I had, big or small, got prompt answers and addressed appropriately! Honestly one of the best contractors I dealt with over the years. All the workers were very nice to talk with on site. The owner visited the site often to make sure everything was on track and that I am happy with where things are headed. The project managers even helped me fix my broken treadmill! I now am planning to have them back to do another project on my front lawn. Highly recommend!!!!

Ibi and his crew did an awesome job on our patio, retaining wall, stepping stones, drainage, tree removal, concrete pad and new fence. It all came out beautiful. Ibi was very responsive and answered all my questions quickly and thoroughly. Amazingly, they were able to get our project done in less than a week and have finally made our backyard usable. I would highly recommend them for any of your landscaping/hardscaping needs!

I just had a new patio installed by Northern Virginia Landscaping and it looks amazing! Ibi, Marco and the entire team at NVL were easy to work with and always paid close attention to my requests. I even requested a few changes be made along the way and they did not hesitate to adjust course and make it happen.

The result was the beautiful pavers patio as seen in the pics. And they did it all in 5 days! In addition to the patio, NVL also enlarged my storm drain by my back door and replaced a downspout on a gutter. I used to have major flooding issues with my house and if I lost power I’d have to rush to start the generator (to keep the main sump pump running) or risk my sump overflowing. This made it incredibly stressful if I wasn’t home. After the new patio and other changes above were made, my flooding issue has resolved. I barely got any water in my sump after the last 4 day rainstorm! That saved me $8k+ as I would’ve otherwise had to buy a self-starting generator.

All the staff at NVL are a pleasure to work with and their prices are very competitive. I couldn’t be happier with my patio and I can’t wait to start entertaining with it. I’d highly recommend Northern Virginia Landscaping to anyone considering a new patio or other major landscaping project!

Ibi, Kenesi, Marco, and the rest of the team did an incredible job on our backyard project. After the consultation and a few scope adjustments to align our goals and our budget, we accepted a very detailed work proposal. Over the last 4 weeks they removed 4 large trees as well as a few other smaller ones, excavated the new patio area, installed the patio and retaining wall, removed all vines and bushes, regraded, laid sod, and overseeded, and installed a flower bed. They left the job site clean everyday and answered any questions I had. They are true experts and I will be continuing to use their services on any other projects.

Incredible results because of Northern Virginia Landscaping's knowledge base and responsiveness.
We purchased a house that had a raised garden bed near our basement wall, which always allowed water to enter the house during heavy rainstorms. Two previous companies did some work on our house in past years, with lackluster results.
I interviewed several companies this year to conquer the continuous problem. Northern Virginia Landscape was the only company willing to take out our raised garden bed and put in a french drain. Like the other companies they wanted to fix the downspout in the neighbor's section and straighten out the drainage hose that was previously laid with great contortions.
Northern Virginia Landscape also offered to move my hostas from the old garden bed to the new lower one, before adding stones. But I am so scared of water entering the house, I don't want to water plants in that space, so I opted for just rocks to drain the water.
Northern Virginia Landscape was timely and incredibly respectful of the neighbor's garden while working on our project.
Northern Virginia Landscape even came out a second time to explain their proposal for a solution, this time to benefit my husband who had been at work the first time.
We were fortunate enough to start the project a week after we signed the contract. Even though the company slotted 3 days for the project, they were basically done in 1 day. They returned the next morning for a couple of hours for finishing details.
Always informative and patient, they have effectively resolved a worrisome problem we had in our front yard.

We are so pleased with how Northern Virginia Landscaping shaped the landscaping in front of our town home. Throughout the process, we felt that Ibi listened to our concerns about our front yard and methodically addressed all of them. He also patiently provided the information that we needed to get HOA approval for the project.

When it came time to do the work, Kenesi and his team did a great job -- even working on the weekend to get the job done in a timely manner. Also, when we had questions and needed follow-up work, they came back right away to remove a bush and trim another. We are thrilled with the way everything turned out!

Ibi, Marco and the entire NVL team were an absolute dream to work with. We have had water issues and they helped us re-pitch, install several French drains, and hardscape our entire back yard in Arlington. The crew was extremely professional and made sure everything looked perfect before leaving the site on the final day. Ibi was excellent at communicating and helped us navigate some tricky street parking issues. We cannot wait to have them back out to help us with our front yard. 10/10 would recommend them for all your landscaping and hardscaping needs!

Ibi and the entire team were outstanding from start to finish. Ibi met with us and listened carefully to our goals for the project and offered great solutions that made it even better. Ibi the owner of Northern Virginia Landscaping was helpful, insightful and most importantly not pushy or displaying any other sales pitch type behavior which is so commonly found these days. He is a true professional and passionate about this trade. Our roughly 300sf cut flagstone patio on poured concrete foundation with curved retaining wall and under-capstone lighting turned out fabulous. Ricardo the foreman on the job was resourceful and we made small scope changes as we went along based on new information available. His decade long experience in hardscaping was very apparent and we benefited from his knowledge and let him guide us through this journey. The patio is meant to be a fire pit/sun lounger hangout area across from a semi dry stream bed and we couldn't be happier with it. We will absolutely award the landscaping portion around the hardscaped area to Ibi and his team also.

We worked with Kenesi as our main point of contact and were very pleased with his responsiveness and level of professionalism! Ours was about a 3-day project that involved some simple landscape design (boxwoods and a new cherry blossom tree), removal/replacement of a tree, new sod in front/side/backyard, installation of natural steppers and hardscaping with river jack along the front yard and perimeter of the house. It’s been about 2 weeks since the project and we are very happy with the outcome. We will be working with them for any future needs!

The team was amazing and communicative. Our yard was a challenge due to being on a hill and having a huge tree removed months earlier that was dying. They made a new patio, a shed pad, new landscaping, a sprinkler system, and more. Definitely would use them again!

Northern Virginia Landscaping was amazing from beginning to end! They consulted me on my best options for hardscaping and concrete. They clearly knew more than the 9 other contractors I spoke with. Did an amazing job with their masonry, laying down a new brick walkway and pouring a new concrete driveway.

They were responsive and when the project was going to take longer because of their strict quality assurance processes, they called me about it and kept me in the loop. 5 out of 5 for both their quality of work and their communication.

We recently hired Northern Virginia Landscaping to fix the grading in our front yard and also re-design/plant the garden in our front yard. They've done a great job from the initial consultation to the actual project management. The owner Ibi is very knowledgeable about the water intrusion issues we faced in our house and proposed grading change and additional drainage to fix the water intrusion problem. The project started timely and Ibi and the project manager Kenesei have always kept great communications with us on a daily basis to inform us about the progress. We are very happy with their work and would highly recommend them for landscaping projects!

An update from the initial review: in the past year, we worked with NVA Landscaping on 3 different properties, the most recent one being a townhouse's front garden/lawn this week, as always, NVA delivered the work on time, efficiently and cost effectively. As you can see from the pictures below, the front garden that used to be an overgrown jungle was completely transformed. We are happy returning customers of NVA and will continue to work with them on future projects.

We had a three-tier retaining wall built this summer to replace our collapsing one. The crew did a wonderful job despite the various delays with all the rain we were getting. Ibi and Kenesi went above and beyond with answering questions and managing specific requests. Thanks for all the work!

We had to have our backyard completely redone after our new home was built and I’m very pleased we went with NVL. Kenesei and his amazing crew (who were the same the entire time) came on time and finished the project with only a very short delay. I wish I had take. Better “before” photos to show what a difference they made in the grading of the lawn which hadn’t been well finished by our home builder.

We had very bad drainage issues on both sides of our house which they took care of and added in cost effective but nice looking rock landscaping with a walkway.

Kenesei was also extremely patient about a change I wanted to make in adding more sod and moving plants around. Everything was power washed and care instructions after completion were clear. We are thinking about doing even more detailed work in the future and will definitely use them again!

Northern VA Landscaping was superb. We had drainage issues from the hill with no clear vision on how to proceed. They created a wonderful oasis including a new patio, firepit, retaining wall, driveway extension, front walkway, new gate, dry creek bed, and re-grading the land. Their craftsmanship is excellent, but it's their level of professionalism that left an impression. Kenesi, Ricardo, and the whole crew was always early to the site, cleaned up each day, ensured minimal impact to neighbors, and took extra steps to ensure a job was done correctly. We had a few design changes during construction due to the land grading, and it's clear that NVL always does the job correctly the first time.

The owner Ibi is fantastic to work with. He's patient, knowledgeable, professional, and still checks in to see how we're enjoying the yard. The pictures can't truly capture the transformation (see the before), but NVL was the perfect choice and we're extremely pleased with how everything turned out.

I had a great experience landscaping my yard with Northern Virginia Landscaping. They removed everything in my yard and completely re-landscaped it, and I could not be more happy with the results. Kenesi was the project manager and designed the landscaping. He was always available to answer questions and make changes to the design until I was fully happy with it. Once it was time to install, the team was on time, respectful, and hard working. They paid attention to detail and made sure everything was perfect before completing the project. I also had a sprinkler system installed, and the team NVL hired was excellent. They taught me to use the system and returned to make changes when the sod was not responding well to some of the watering set up. I highly recommend using NVL for any landscaping project.

I wish there were an option to give more than 5 stars. Northern Virginia Landscaping is truly one of the best companies I've ever worked with. I was moving into a new home and had a vision for what I wanted my new patio, yard, and fence to look like. From my first meeting with Ibi, through the design phase with Dave, to execution with Kenesi and Victor, the communication, responsiveness, professionalism, and work quality was top notch!! The project manager, Kenesi, was in regular touch and ensuring I was satisfied with all the work that was being done. the team just finished the work, and I am THRILLED with the results. I am also sad that I won't be in regular touch with Kenesi because he was truly such a pleasure to work with. I highly, highly recommend Northern Virginia Landscaping.
