Under no circumstances would I ever consider SEARS appliance repair again. I had a broken washing machine and garage refrigerator. I spent 200 dollars in claim fees to have both repaired. The technician was unable to correctly fix my refrigerator and it is still currently being held closed by a piece of tape. He recommended a clamp. That entire unit will need to be replaced. They sent technicians 3 times to fix the washing machine. Long story short after many late evening visits, I had to purchase a brand new washing machine from Lowe’s myself and have the old hauled away. This entire ordeal between both appliances included at least 3 completely missed appointments they flaked on. Each time they did arrive they arrive at least 2-3 hours late outside of their appointment window. The first time they show up they never fix the appliances, they only take pictures and order parts even though I took all the steps to upload the model and serial numbers of my appliances on their portal. Not only are they unable to fix the appliances and show up on time for appointments, I had one of the worst customer service experiences of my life. I probably called and emailed the numbers given to me over 10 times and after many hours on hold, I finally spoke to a representative. I asked they look into refunding my deductibles since my appliances were ruined. Instead, overnight, they cancelled my plan and charged me 422 dollars. They refused to respond to any emails or inquiries after that and only told me they never do refunds. I even disputed the charge with my bank and they certainly responded to that. My dispute was that they cancelled my plan without my permission and consent which billed me 422 dollars. They took plenty of time uploading all of my contract documents and receipts to dispute my claim against my bank but never displayed any proof of me asking for or permitting the cancellation of my plan. Run for the hills and never sign up for their home appliance warranty. Complete and utter incompetence and the worst customer service.

Update: I tried contacting Sears to come to a “resolution” as they suggested in their comment and as expected, this was a waste of time. Just forwarded to the never ending automated call options, hold, then talked to a call center I could barely hear where they said they have no power to do anything. Possibly the worst home warranty or appliance repair company out there. Does not deserve the 1 star that I was forced to give. Also just know, Sears subcontracts their repair company to third party and all of these technicians are wildly incompetent. Read the reviews below just as I did and you will see the same experiences with horrible scheduling, missed appointments, and inability to actually repair anything. Just a reminder that after all this, Sears illegally cancelled my account without permission and charged me 422 dollars.

Very thorough and hopefully our fridge is fixed!!! Madjid was able to address what other technicians could not.

The technician (Hai), who was sent to fix my furnace, was unprofessional and incompetent. He kept complaining about how he couldn't figure out the problem of my furnce. He told me he didn't know how to fix it. He left without repairing it and said he would call me for another appointment. On the second appointment, he took a paint brush and cleaned the unit from dust and told me it would be $70 to clean it. I didn't pay for it. Bottom line, I was not serviced again and told his manager would come look at the the unit.it never happened. I just canceled the service and went with someone else.

Could not diagnose our issue and recommended $1000 in unrelated items to fix. 10 minutes after he left I was able to re create the problem that he could not. I even found the problem and solution using Google search.
His visit resulted in a loss of 99 dollars and a washer that is still broken.

I really hate to do bad reviews but these guys are not organized at all. I had a confirmed appointment for an afternoon window and waited at home. By the end of the afternoon I did not hear from them. I then went on the website and it said my appointment was canceled and asked me to reschedule. I went to a chat to talk to a nice guy who tried to explain that they would try to come out the next day but it was too late. I was upset because I wasn't notified by their system that it was canceled and wasted all afternoon. Interesting thing was on the chat he tried to sell me a warranty package. Amazing! I told him to forget it and I told him I was going to write a bad review on Google. They deserve it

Believed that my washer might not be spinning correctly so I had a diagnostic done and the technician determined that everything was working as it should be.

This experience has been terrible from start to finish. The original diagnostic was completed 6 weeks ago and the part needed has been on back order ever since. The part finally delivered and UPS shows it was accepted by a person named Dave (not associated with my household in any way). I don’t know where the delivery was received because the technician showed up and did not have the part. I took a day off from work to be here for this repair (I do not work from home), not only did the technician show up at 11:30 when the service appointment window was from 7am-11am, but he was rude, constantly talked over me and interrupted me - And the service was never completed. The service also required I unplug my fridge/freezer for 2 days ahead of the appointment (which I did), meaning I haven’t had fresh food at home for two days and had to get rid of many goods I had stocked up on. I’ve lost money from the food that went to waste, food I had to purchase dining out since I was unable to buy ingredients for home, the equivalent dollar amount I have now used on a PTO day to be here for this appointment, and I’ve lost time waiting over 6 weeks for this service.

It’s more time and cost friendly to order the parts from Amazon and compete the repair myself. Could not have been a more horrible experience.

Probably the oddest house call I have ever had. The tech gave a ridiculously high estimate to start. He then offered another company that could do the work cheaper. In fact I got a text quote from the other company after he left with a quote almost half of what he bid through Sears, not sure how they got my number. After he left I realized he also hadn’t put on shoe covers and it had been raining. I only realized that as he left one of the booties in the driveway when he left.

Tech arrived 3 hours late. He correctly diagnosed the problem. Gave me a price of $399 to replace a blown thermal fuse. I agreed to the repair. He then showed me I needed a duct cleaning and gave me the number of a friend.

He then refused to reconnect the duct and I also had to help him lift the dryer.

Then after he leaves I get the full detailed bill. His labor for 40 minutes of work was $299. The part, the thermo fuse, is a $7 part that Sears charged me $50 for but the bill still didn't add up. Then I saw he charged me another $50 to tell me I need a duct cleaning.

This is the second time I fell for this Sears service scam. Never again!!!!

I especially like the sending you the detailed invoice after the guy leaves.

Avoid Sears Home Service at all cost. It's literally cheaper now to buy a new dryer than have Sears work on it.

The Tech person and the Tech assistant
Checked out my furnace and compressor. Everything seemed fine. When the weather gets warm, I need to have a tech come back if ice develops again on the pipes that are part of the A/C system. Not possible to checkout this problem in March,

Absolutely worst experience ever! I have been a customer since last year. My fridge is not cooling or freezing. Called Sears, waited a few days for a technician to come. They evaluated the fridge, ordered the parts that came in 2 days. Had to wait for 3 weeks to have someone from Sears come in. Finally I had all 7 parts installed after 5 hours of work (stayed until 9pm). Great! Oh wait, the fridge is not cooling or freezing after all this labor. Not at all! The technician left old parts for us to dispose, they are large and I can't trash them or recycle, they have to be taken to a special place. Really? Ok things happen I guess. Called them back the first thing in the morning. They gave me an emergency virtual appointment with a next level technician and that was an absolutely huge waste of my time. Without seeing, how can someone evaluate the problem over the phone? A few questions reading the notes and asking what the problem was. The problem was already written in my records when I called first thing in the morning. We spoke about replacing the fridge, the technician said its up to customer service. Called customer service, they said its up to a technician. Called the technician and they said its up to the customer service. Its a circle. Now I have another appointment in a week for another evaluation. I have a family and small children and no refrigerator for almost a month. I asked to speak with someone in the management, they gave me a regular customer service number. Definitely worst experience!!! No one is there to have a solution, just passing the appointments around. Can't get to the management to complain and have someone adequate to speak with to understand the problem. I just wanted a knowledgable technician to come in and fix the fridge, or replace if needed since I have Sears insurance now. I wasted time, time off work as they schedule their timeframe from 7am-6pm so I had to take off work. I will be looking for another company now. Don't waste your time!!!

This was the worst experience ever. I'm giving 1 star because I could not give zero. Sears cancelled twice, then sent an extremely rude technician who spent 5 minutes to say he would order a part (despite an extremely detailed description of the problem by us). Finally after almost a month, they replaced a part. The problem (unbalanced) remains. I had to use Sears because they were the vendor for the warranty we have on the washer. Sears used to be a reputable repair company. They're horrible now (in the DC metro area).

Edited to add that the response they provide is automated. Neither the phone number provided nor the website allows me to speak to a human to file a complaint. Bottom line, find another repair company in the DC metro area.

If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. This company has been nothing but a nightmare to deal with. They canceled my scheduled appointment four times and took over a month and a half just to repair my dryer — even though the replacement part was sitting at my house for over 20 days. Each time I scheduled an appointment, they canceled it on the day of and automatically pushed it out another week.

To make matters worse, their customer service is completely automated — there’s no way to speak to a real person. You’re stuck in an endless loop of a computerized system that offers no help or accountability.

Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere. This company clearly does not value their customers’ time or experience.

Very unprofessional and disrespectful response to a a question I had about a charge. Never ever have I was treated this bad on the phone from a technician that came to my house and did repair work

Cesar was very polite and efficient. I really appreciate that he listened to my concerns and took care of them.

Outstanding job - quickly assessed refrigerator problem & provided estimate. Unable to repair due to high cost versus purchase of new refrigerator.

The repair man was prompt and courteous, but he didn't fix the issue, nor did he explain what caused the issue.

Madjit was very knowledgeable. He arrived on time, and completed the repair quickly while explaining to us what had happened and why.
