Had them install my carpet years ago, excellent job. Recently I needed to have my carpet cleaned. I called and they could not give me an accurate price even though they knew the size and condition because they cleaned it before. I scheduled about 3 weeks out for 10am. Well 10am ce and went and I called and they said it would be close to 1030. Well I had a meeting at 11am and left a message to reschedule. Cleaner showed up at 1059am and they did not tell him that I could not do it right now. I called back after my meeting and Mike did not really care that the appointment was late. I asked to reschedule and he said about 4 weeks out. I said even though you guys missed the appointment and he said, that is correct. I told him I am going to cancel and he said OK. And that was it. Did not care at all. I got another cleaner to come out ad do it 2 days later. Might be good at installation but they dont care about cleaning.

Outstanding service from start to finish. We've used Clawes Carpets twice and both times they did excellent work. I highly recommend this small business to anyone looking for quality flooring.

We contracted with Clawes to do our entire upstairs with Bruce hardwood flooring, including a very-difficult-to-do rotunda area. Price was competitive and the crew of six showed up on time and did a spectacular job. They worked so hard - and I noticed they didn't take a lunch break, so at 2 p.m. I went and got them all Five Guys and set them up in the kitchen. They really appreciated that and even cleaned up the table when done. Their work is precision - and I've done many woodworking and flooring installs myself - and the accuracy is tremendous. They worked until 8:30 p.m. and got it all done, with an excellent clean-up as well. This is the company you want to use.

I had no idea about what to look for in carpet, and the people in the store helped me pick out a carpet that met my needs and was a good value. Price ended up being $1500 less than what I was quoted at another carpet chain. The installers were very nice and did an excellent job. They even gave me the leftover carpet, which I had bound into a rug. I could not be more happy with this experience.

Clawes Carpet would get six stars if I could. Awesome company that really cares about the customer. I had an extremely difficult flooring job which involved repairing and restoring my main level engineered wood flooring which had been jackhammered due to a plumbing issue. They skillfully ripped out just what had to be removed and feathered in the new flooring. Demo, leveling, and installation all in one day! I’ve had three flooring jobs completed by Clawes in the last 10 years and wouldn’t think of using anyone else.

Clawes is a family owned business in our area. I have trusted my work to them for years and have never been disappointed in the quality of their work and the business integrity. I just finished another job with them - replacing my kitchen floor. They found it far more difficult than expected due to unseen layers of old flooring but they took it on and did an excellent job (as always). I highly recommend them.

Cant say enough good things about this family owned business. The sales people are very friendly and easy to work with but the really impressive thing are the installers. First rate work! We recently had them replace our main level with new hardwood floors which look great. We will be back soon to look at new carpet for our basement.

Family owned business that's been local for 25+ years. Great service, they came out quickly to measure the rooms we needed recarpeted . We picked colors and they were delivered to the warehouse in about a week, and then they called to schedule the installation, and were able to split the job into two separate days to give us time to shuffle all the stuff in the house so they could work.

The installation team was respectful in moving the bulky furniture (sectional, dressers, etc) and did a great job throughout the whole house. The new carpet looks fantastic, and really makes the house feel more comfortable!

We recently contacted the Clawes Carpets store located at 9541 Braddock Road and spoke to Roy Clawes about our desire to replace the wall-to-wall carpeting in our family room with hardwood flooring. Roy described various options for us to consider and then visited our home to obtain exact measurements.

Roy quickly determined that our stone fireplace hearth would be a unique challenge in order to install the hardwood flooring. To install the hardwood properly, the installers would need to precisely cut a hardwood “picture frame” to conform exactly to the jagged edges of the surrounding hearth stone. There are very few craftsmen who have the ability and expertise to perform this customization. Fortunately for us, Clawes has several such expert installers. Our lead installer and crew were meticulous with every detail of their work. They worked diligently and precisely to create a “hearth picture frame.” The team then removed the old carpeting, prepared the sub flooring, and installed the hardwood flooring. It was like watching artists at work as the installers determined the placement of the hardwood flooring taking into account the color and length of each individual board. The final result is now a masterpiece of flooring in our family room!

We are 1,000% pleased with our new flooring. The quality and beauty of the new hardwood flooring and the precision with which it was installed is spectacular. Our experience over the years with Clawes Carpets, located at Braddock Road, has been superb. They provide outstanding products and excellent installation services! I have had several floors replaced by Clawes. I have always been more than pleased with their kindness and workmanship. Beautiful work. And their customer service is TOP NOTCH!

We had Clawes install hardwood floors on our upper floor. The workmanship was outstanding and they were quick. 9 people descended on our floor at once including the craftsman who did the stairs. 6 hours to do a 800 square foot floor with absolutely no flaws in the installation. This work included shoe molding in all rooms (4) and hallway. We were so impressed that we stopped in at the store and gave them our thanks for a great job.

We had Clawes install carpeting in 3 bedrooms as well as replacing the runner on the stairs. The actual carpet installation was fine; they did a nice job with that and the workers were all courteous. But our experience before and after the carpet installation wasn’t great. After they came out initially to take measurements, we had to call them three times over a period of 3 weeks to get the quote, when they originally said they would provide it the next day. Kind of frustrating (and perplexing). After the job was complete I noticed the next day our driveway (where they cut the carpet, which I had no issue with) is littered with bits of carpet all over the place. Not cool. We’ve had a string of contractors come through our house lately, several of whom used the driveway for various purposes, and they all cleaned up after themselves, even hosing the driveway at one point. Not Clawes. Now I’ve got bits of carpet all over my driveway, blowing into my lawn, etc. A headache of a mess that I really shouldn’t have to deal with. We used Clawes a few years ago in our previous house and were pleased with their work, which is why we went with them this time. Maybe this was an anomaly or just a bad crew, though the carpet installation itself was well done; I don’t know but we’ll be looking for another carpet place next time when the need arises.

Clawes Carpets in Fairfax installed new carpeting for us this week. Every step in the process was A+++; the sales people, the showroom, the price, the perfect installation. The installers were perfectionists; the price of the whole job was 20% less than the original estimate; there was no pressure in the sales process; they gave us a discount for paying by check instead of credit card. The price was more than reasonable, and the job would have been worth more than they charged us. FIRST CLASS ALL THE WAY

Overall: Clawes did a great job on our flooring. My husband and I had just bought a house and wanted to replace the ugly carpeting. I reached out to my network of fellow military spouses and one recommendation was Clawes. They were very communicative and helpful. Roy Clawes himself came out twice to our house to do measurements (as we made a few additions to the work). He was very easy to talk to and very knowledgable. He and his staff made efforts to give us options that met the aesthetic we wanted and the budget we had. Pricing was transparent. Staff is very friendly. It has now been more than a month since they installed the flooring and I'm still a little in love with the floor.

Room for improvement: The hardwood sale was pushed very hard on us, even after we said we didn't think it was the right choice upon further consideration (hence the removal of 1 star). I know it was a very good deal for hardwood at the time we were shopping around, but it unfortunately didn't fit our anticipated needs. However, Roy made it clear to us that he was in agreement with our decision to go with vinyl for our needs, so it was helpful to see he was not pushing it.

Got new carpet runners for 2 staircases. The installers did an excellent job and the entire process was very easy. Probably the easiest home project I've ever done. It's great to work with a local, family-owned company.

I did some price checking for redoing carpet in my home and I loved the experience I had with Clawes. They were not pushy, they understood what I wanted and didn't try to oversell, plus their installation process was easy. The other company I spoke with is a big name and I had no less than one email or call per day and they tried to oversell the entire time. I'm so happy I went with Clawes.

We had a great experience getting new carpet for our basement and living room with Clawes. We did a lot of research and found their service and prices were extremely fair, they clearly had way more expertise and knowledge than bigger stores, and they gave us the kind of patient customer service unique to small/local businesses. We LOVED how they moved our big furniture for us- that service alone made them stand out, and the crew that came were careful, accommodating and did excellent work. We've had our new carpet for about 5 months and it looks great and feels wonderful.
