Constraction reviews in Fairfax, Virginia

Nick did an excellent job in designing and redoing my 30 year old rather large deck with Trex. His workers were on time and Nick and Renaldo checked on their progress often. What impressed me most was Nick's communication skills. No question was left unanswered, he responded quickly by txt or phone.
I highly recommend him and his crew for a job well done!

Kitchens By Victor I am a general contractor and I have worked with I.D. Electric for a few years on many different remodeling projects. I like that the owner is very knowledgeable and meticulous about his work. He has trained everyone of his team members to always be polite and clean up after themselves. It's refreshing to find a reliable, knowledgeable master electrician who is not out to gauge you on every project. it has truly been a pleasure working with I.D. Electric on every project and I wish for there continued success. Down below is a whole house wiring project in Annandale, VA

The team at Prime Outdoor Living did an excellent job with all of the work we needed. They built a new deck and installed new doors and windows for us. All of the construction was great and the team was a pleasure to work with. Would absolutely recommend using them.

First time ever writing a review--5***** and more!!!

Just had a 530 sq ft deck resurfaced by Prime Decks using Decorator boards--given that I had built the original deck and there were lot of angles to deal with and inset posts to work around and a great deal of trim work, I thought I would have to keep on top of anyone that I would be doing the work--soo not so!!!-- these guys are unbelievable pros--every cut was tight and on the money--they went the extra distance in shoring up any structural issues and using flashing tape to waterproof everything underneath--they cleaned up everyday and had the project done in the time they projected--the representative I dealt with--Nick Jantic--couldn't have been more pleasant or professional--I would give the whole experience more than 5 stars if I could but have to leave it at that.

I recently had Jake from Prime Decks come out for an estimate to replace my back steps from wood to Trex, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. After reaching out to multiple local deck companies and getting no response, Jake stood out as the only one who called me back—after hours, no less! His enthusiasm and professionalism were apparent from the start.

Jake came by the very next day, equipped with samples and a genuine desire to help me find the perfect solution for my budget. He took the time to explain the pros and cons of each option, demonstrating a deep knowledge of the products and ensuring I made an informed decision.

In a time when good customer service feels like a lost art, Jake was an absolute breath of fresh air. If you're looking for a reliable, responsive, and knowledgeable contractor, I highly recommend Prime Decks. And trust me, when you call Jake, he’ll actually pick up!

Prime Outdoor Living helped me realize my dream of having a screened porch for my family to enjoy on our house in Springfield. They offered me expert guidance and skilled execution at every step of the process: from visioning and plan development with design advice through applying for and securing permits and then in providing quality construction. I appreciated Nick’s experience and ability to help me design the porch that would seamlessly add onto and complement my existing home while also capitalizing on the natural surroundings. The team did a good job communicating clearly about the process and timeline as well as when there were interruptions or delays (such as when the permit process hit some administrative snags). I was given choices to help me stay on budget. The end result is even better than I had imagined and has added value to our family’s quality of life in addition to my property. Highly recommend working with them.

Prime Deck did an amazing job bringing our old deck back to life. They replaced the old railings and staircase with high quality materials and it looks amazing! We worked with Jake who provided us with detailed plans, a great price, and excellent communication throughout the process. The team arrived early each day, were very productive and very courteous. We could not be any happier with our deck!

My husband and I live in Oakton and a deck renovation has been on our to-do list since we moved in 3 years ago. My husband’s an engineer and I work in finance so we’re thorough when evaluating contractors - to say the least! We lined-up 5 bids for our project and the quotes were all over the board. Prime Decks (Jake) blew away the competition by a long shot. We appreciated the detailed bid with line items. When we had questions about the bid Jake went above and beyond and returned to our home to discuss adjustments. The digital contract experience was convenient and seamless. Jake provided thorough updates leading up to our scheduled project start date and kept in constant communication throughout the duration of our project. Reynaldo and his crew were polite, timely, and they always cleaned up the site at the end of the day. You can tell that these men take pride in their work. Their precision and attention to detail exceeded our expectations. We’re blown away with our gorgeous deck and we’re raving fans for life! Believe me - you won’t be disappointed with Jake and Prime Decks!

Prime Outdoor Living did an excellent job building my deck. From start to finish, the process was smooth overall, and the quality of the workmanship really shows. The final result came out exactly as I hoped.

Although there were a few setbacks due to miscommunication, Nick and Pavel were quick to address and fix everything without hesitation. They were easy to work with, communicative, and straightforward throughout the project, which made the experience feel honest and stress-free.

If you’re looking for a reliable company that stands by their work and delivers solid craftsmanship, I would definitely recommend Prime Outdoor Living.

We cannot say enough about how amazing our experience has been working with Nick @ Prime Decks. He brought to life our backyard dream of having a screened in porch, deck, and stamped concrete patio. Nick’s cost proposal was in line with others we received, and he had much more experience and contributed ideas that others hadn’t thought of. This was a larger home project than we had ever done, and it felt comforting to be working with someone who had specific examples to show us that helped us envision what the back of our home would look like. The entire construction process went quickly (less than one month- even with rain delays), and we were kept informed about what to expect every step of the way. Nick was always responsive to our questions, and he kept the process moving along at a very fast pace. The final product is very high quality and looks wonderful! Nick even thought of some new ideas during the process that he implemented without any change to the budget or schedule. His team was always polite and professional, and they took care of the small details that make the space feel perfect. I’ve attached some pictures to show what Nick’s team built (we will landscape once the weather gets cooler). If you want to work with an experienced team who can create high-quality deck/patio/porch spaces quickly and at a very reasonable cost, then we highly recommend working with Nick and Prime Decks!!

If I could give Prime Decks more than 5 stars I would. The final deck they built me was absolutely gorgeous.

I actually drew up plans for a covered deck addition to my DC home back in the fall of 2020. I went through the permitting process with a different company and ended up having to release that contractor. It took 3.5 years with the original company and DCRA.

I hired Prime Deck after I fired the first contractor. Needless to say I had been through a lot with the project at that point but Jake and his team really supercharged the project and finally delivered far more than I imagined 3 years ago when I designed the project.

The quality of work was impeccable, the communication clear, and in they were very timely. I can't say enough good things about this company. They know what they are doing. They took my idea and turned it into something amazing. Here are just a few pictures:

We are so obsessed with the porch that Prime Outdoor Living built for us. It’s our favorite spot in our house, and everyone who visits us raves about how beautiful it is. It looks flawless - way better than I had hoped for. The process required patience due to weather and electrician delays, but it was worth it. Nick and his team really cared about making sure we were 100% happy with the end result. We didn’t go over the initial proposed budget at all and they didn’t charge us extra for a few minor requests we had during the process. Best decision we’ve made!

We highly recommend Nick and his team at Prime Outdoor Living. Our deck and patio look great.

After receiving estimates from several highly rated deck companies—each with five-star reviews and > 50 testimonials—we ultimately chose Prime Outdoor Living, and we couldn’t be happier with that decision. One difference that set them apart from the start was Nick, the owner, personally coming out to meet us. The other companies sent sales representatives who delivered rehearsed pitches about features they claimed were unique—like deck tape on joists or framing lattice instead of tacking it up—yet every company offered the same things. Nick’s approach seemed genuine and he gave his input on what he thought his team could do to add to our vision.

From the first appointment, the team was punctual and professional. We explained our vision, and they returned with a clear, fair estimate (lower than their 5 star reviewed competitors). Like many homeowners with a big project (we have all heard horror stories), we felt a little nervous after making the initial payment, wondering when work would begin. Those concerns vanished quickly when the dumpster and supplies arrived, and the crew got right to work.

Our project was extensive: a large multi-tier deck where the lowest tier, nearly at ground level, was demolished and replaced with a beautiful patio, while the upper levels were resurfaced with Trex (with new railings) and our screened porch was refreshed. The team worked hard for full days. They communicated when necessary, but the estimate/contract was so detailed that questions were minimal. Their work ethic and craftsmanship were outstanding, and the finished product exceeded our expectations.

We highly recommend Nick and his team at Prime Outdoor Living. The quality was great, the cost was fair, and the experience was stress-free. We love our new outdoor space!

We're extremely happy we chose Nick and the Prime team. After reviewing three proposals, Prime stood out due to their competitive pricing, a detailed breakdown of all costs, and the strong sense of comfort we developed with Nick. They were one of the only companies that truly listened to our specific needs and made them a reality.
As the project progressed, challenges arose, but Nick's suggestions and guidance consistently aligned with our budget while ensuring a great outcome.
What truly sets Nick apart is how he treats the project as if it were for his own home. His team never took shortcuts; in some cases, this meant returning to the site or adjusting original plans, a process that was always smooth. We felt his priority was always our satisfaction, not just what was easiest for them.
Overall, it was a great experience, and we are very happy clients.

This is a review 6 years in the making!!!!

I’ve worked with Nick at Prime Outdoor living for over 6 years now and can’t say enough. What started as a COVID era deck, turned into a screened porch, and a brand new garage. Nick and Prime Outdoor living (formerly Prime Decks) are the most honest, and customer obsessed contractors you’ll ever work with.
If you want customer service, top notch quality, very fair pricing and overall the best experience don’t hesitate to call Nick @ Prime Outdoor. I’ll let the pictures do all the talking, but I can’t recommend them enough for really any constructive project you have! Nick & Pavel are amazing! Just look at the 3 major construction projects we’ve had them build!!

Prime built a first-class deck and patio for us. They were easy to work with, straightforward, and truly listened to my vision. Communication was excellent from start to finish.
I received five bids from different contractors, and Prime delivered the best value by far. More importantly, they did exactly what they promised. While there were other solid proposals, Prime took the time to understand what I really wanted and elevated the final result beyond my expectations.
They were a pleasure to work with, and I strongly recommend them to anyone considering a deck or patio project.

Prime Outdoor knocked this project out of the park! We had a great experience working with them and our new screened-in deck looks amazing. Nick was extremely helpful throughout the process and worked with us to stay within our budget. Elio and his crew are masters of their craft, great attention to detail and you can tell they are very experienced builders. Needless to say we are very happy with this company’s work and would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a quality outdoor project.

Prime Outdoor Living did an incredible job building our new deck! This was a complicated and fairly big deck project, requiring a large cantilever over our garage door, and close attention to the limitations of our house design and a tricky hillside lot. Careful engineering, load calculations and materials research was required - not a “paint by numbers deck” by any means. Several reputable contractors bid on this, but Nick and his team were incredibly responsive and creative from the start. They won our business with a design solution that was unique and at a budget that beat other bidders. Their on site build team was professional and worked quickly to complete the project. We couldn’t be happier! I would highly recommend Prime Outdoor to anyone looking for an innovative and truly professional partner for their next major project!

We had Prime Outdoor Living to replace our existing sunroom with a terrace/ deck and that turned out to be the best decision ever. From design to installation all tasks were carried out through a simple in-house workflow system and that was useful in giving an overview of timeline and tasks to be undertaken by all parties involved. Nick was very helpful and responsive in giving us valuable input in the earlier design phase since the requirement was to extend the existing depth by another 2ft+. The installation crew was professional, and we were particularly impressed when they offered their recommendation to do more painting on the window frame just to make the deck design look better even though the frame is below the deck (where it is not usually noticeable). We would not hesitate to recommend Prime's service to anyone who are looking to do any type of home improvement projects and they're certainly on the top of our list for the next house project in the pipeline!

We renovated our 2 bathrooms, and we couldn’t be happier with the results! Daniel, Erika, and their crew are incredibly friendly and professional, offering thoughtful advice tailored to our needs. If we had any questions or needed to talk to them, they responded right away, which made the whole process so easy and stress-free. From start to finish, the outcome exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality, expert service, and a smooth renovation experience.

We were very happy with the work on our master bath and will completely trust Daniel and Erika to do work on our home in the future.
