Great turnip and mustard greens. Still good prices on water millons, strawberries, Armish Potatoe Salad, lima beans for protein and fresh corn.

Good environment customer service is great someone is always friendly enough to help you in anyway needed. Better than some Walmarts I've visited definitely so

Yard was in major disrepair. Dave came out and assessed the lawn, yard and gardens. He explained his wide-scope of knowledge enhanced with measurements and scientific assessments then presented a detailed outline and scope of work. He tailored the job to our needs and desires. The result is a plus to our neighborhood!

Oaktree Property Care helped my parents a great deal for many years, removing snow from their driveway, trees that fell, and more. When my father was terminally ill and I came to care for him, a very large tree fell, and Oaktree Property Care owner Dave Freeman and his team took care of it promptly at a very reasonable price. Later, when the house had to be sold and I was on the other side of the country, Oaktree Property Care was super ethical, honest, and went beyond the call of duty to work with the homeowner association and prepare the property to be sold. They took care of so many steps that were needed -- replacing light fixtures, fixing door trim, painting, chopping up wood, filling out applications, and more; they were indispensable. It is rare and refreshing to find a property care owner/business that is not only highly knowledgeable and skilled, but honest and ethical.

I was excited about Oaktree's great website and reviews, so I left a message asking about the lawnmowing services, thinking we might also get them to do some landscaping later on. Dave just called back and right off the bat made it abundantly clear they are way too busy and not looking for more customers. So don't bother calling them I guess?

Working with Dave and his crew from Oak Tree Property Care has been a fabulous experience! We had let our landscape maintenance go undone for a few years and everything was completely overgrown. I'm talking beds of weeds that were 3 feet high and thick!
Dave and his crew came in and completely cleaned everything out. They cut new edges, mulched, and planted new flowers. They also changed the layout of several of the large beds to make them smaller and easier to maintain. We have 3/4 of an acre and many beds, so there was a LOT of work.
Dave was exceptionally accommodating as I changed my mind on several things, even when that meant having the guys move some big heavy rocks! He was knowledgable, honest and straightforward in making suggestions and recommendations that would help to keep us on track with our budget. He and his crew were friendly and professional. They worked hard from start to finish and did a great job of cleaning up everything. I could not be happier that I chose them and will definitely use them for all of our landscape maintenance in the future! -
The garden center is truly a gem, with its stunningly organized displays and an impressive array of plants that beckon you to explore. The vibrant colors and lush greenery create a captivating atmosphere that makes you forget the outside world. However, my experience was marred by the customer service, which left much to be desired. Each interaction felt cold and dismissive, as if the staff were more interested in avoiding questions than providing assistance. I ultimately embarked on a personal treasure hunt, navigating the aisles until I successfully located the plants I needed. I happily invested nearly $200 in my newfound botanical companions, and I must say, they are thriving beautifully in my garden. Their quality surpassed my expectations. My hope is that the staff receives better training to enhance their customer interactions, as I am uncertain if I will return after feeling so undervalued as a customer.

I’ve been coming to this Merrifield Gardens location for over 20 years. They have beautiful plants, flowers and quality merchandise. The outdoor staff is very friendly, kind and helpful as well as the greeters and cashiers. The inside decor section has changed alot and not in a good way. The staff in that section is usually friendly and helpful; not so much the past few times I’ve been there.

Merrifield Garden Center in Fairfax never disappoints! They have an awesome staff who are available and happy to help! Great and beautiful inventory of anything for indoor or outdoor plants!
My visit last week I was searching for a particular and hard-to-find item. A new employee, Robert Merrill, (sp?) searched high and low until he found exactly what I needed. Super friendly and helpful! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ -
I tried to make this my new spot for all my plant purchases, even thought one of my snake plant cam in very damaged. Today as I was in the indoor plant section looking at plants, this staff member walks by me and tells me “HEY NO MORE OF THAT” I was touching one of the plants that shuts on itself when you touch it. Seriously? I’m not damaging it I’m an adult. She says yes no more of that I literally have it on video. Never going back.

My favorite garden center in DMV!!! You can find all kinds of high quality plants indoor and outdoor that you may not find in other garden centers.

Excellent prices and great service. The Plant Clinic has been very helpful over this past spring with assisting with ways to help my vegetables grow with the low sun levels. It's such a wonderful place to just stroll around and look at all the different plants they have in stock. Especially getting to see the bees and butterflies busy at work pollinating!

Although the plants may cost more here than the big box stores you will find SO much more variety and in better shape by far. They also have one person you can ask on staff that is knowledgeable about many plant things or can try to figure it out. They can identify plants and their problems. Note if you bring in samples they must be done in a specific way in order to prevent diease spread in the nursery. I forget how your supposed to do it but call and ask. I think it waa something like take a small sample bag it wash your hands well. And bag the item again. You want to trap any spores that might be on the plant sample for example. They were able to identify that we had a fungal diease due to having a hemlock tree near by. (Which we cut down due to issues). I really appreciate the 1 year return policy. I feel more confident buying more plants and more valuable plants.
They have a selection of small small rocks, seeds, supplies to choose from as well for your needs. They have items for fairy gardens, tropical plants, succulents, fruiting bushes of multiple varieties per fruit (thank you!!!) And more like privacy trees etc. Here is a photo of a camelia from Merrifield this spring.... -
Largest garden center I've ever been to. Staff is great. The selection was amazing

Love love love this garden center. This was the largest; but, from what I was told this now the medium sized garden center. Well let me tell you it is far from small or medium sized.
Everything you need for your gardening, greenhouse, or house plant needs you can find here. There is plenty of help to answer all of your questions. The pre-made planters and hanging baskets are exquisite.
This center is easy to get in and out of, and there is plenty of parking. -
I’ve been searching high & low for a Hindu rope plant. I avoided coming here initially because a friend of mine had a bad experience. Ha ha I’m walking, I noticed how beautiful this place was. You can truly stay here for hours. It’s a really relaxing place to be. I go towards the house plants section and I was so happy to find the plant that I’ve been looking for. I immediately reach for two of them. Upon reaching for them I noticed some thing on the plant….mealy bugs. I was extremely disappointed, but that’s all it took to deter me from buying any of the Hindu rope plants. They were all grouped together & I did not want to buy and bring hope a plant with pests that may affect my other plants. This made me question the condition of the other house plants and how attentive the staff is. I will say that they did have some other unique plants that I have not seen anywhere else. Another thing I noticed was the charges for repotting plants. Why should there be a charge when we purchase a plant? Especially with how expensive the plants are there, I think repotting should be free. Maybe, it’s a Northern Virginia thing, but other nurseries that I’ve been to repot plants for free.

We were shopping for a live cut Christmas tree and we could not find many trees in the area that were full and had a really nice shape. So we went to Merrifield Garden Center and found a very nice tree. That is the good news. The bad news is that it was about a $150 that is twice as much as The Home Depot across the street. A kind of felt like being gouged at Christmas. All of the prices of the items we saw seemed incredibly expensive. Capped off by a 11 foot Christmas tree that was $895!! Wow. Really? $895?

One of my favorite local stores to go to. I absolutely love the gift shop, especially when it's decorated for Christmas. A great place to buy gifts and spend some time browsing.
