Nick Hanna and his team of skilled workers did a fantastic job on our house in Fairfax. On time, on budget and super high quality workmanship. As the job progressed added a major piece of work and Nick jumped to with a reasonably priced change order and got the job done in one shot. We went from a concrete apron and retaining wall, to a whole stone veneer on our house and could not have been more pleased with the results. Nick is an excellent communicator and never left us hanging.

We sold the house a year later and Nick's work was a major selling feature. Our new house needed some of the same paver work and let our general contractor do the work... what a mistake...PAVERS NEED TO GO IN CORRECTLY - especially when you drive on them... should have insisted that it was sub contracted to NRC and it looks like we may be calling them back in to fixed the bad work...

Nick has done a masterful job of creating new patios, walkways, landscaping and lighting in our backyard and new lighting in the front. His design ideas were perfect and we had such confidence in him that we just gave him carte blanche to execute his ideas, and we are very happy with the result.
Nick is very responsive and his workers are top notch. Absolutely recommend!!!

Nick from NRC Landscape did a great job installing our pervious paver driveway. He worked with us to come up with a layout that met our requirements and provided lots of pictures and references to help us navigate through all the possibilities. His suggestions on walkway lighting turned out great!
Nick spends time working with his customers to ensure their needs are met. We plan to use him again for additional work.

Nick Hanna and his crew were top notch. We had a new home built in Aldie and wanted to replicate a covered porch that the builder offered. Nick said "easy" but told me he wanted put some of his touches on it to make it stand out. His ideas are amazing and his final product exceeded all expectations. I highly recommend him for any project. Be aware, your neighbors will be jealous.

NRC just completed a backyard patio and gas firepit for us. NRC Landscape constructed a driveway on my property. I needed a place to park my trailer and the NRC folks delivered with a great product. NRC performed the work within the proposed budget and on deadline with no problems or issues. On a project of this size, I was confident that there might be issues with contractors, but NRC delivered exceptional customer service and a great product. Superb! Nick and his Team did an amazing job transforming our back yard and I've already recommended NRC to several neighbors in our area. We were looking for something that would give our end-unit townhome some useful outdoor living space, provide some privacy, and add some curb appeal. We got far more than that. With a modest budget and a only a very general idea from us, Nick created an exquisite design. He then carefully walked us through the costs, showed us areas where we could save, and then in short order, brought it to life. The finished product - a new patio and sitting wall with lighting, landscaping with 40+ trees and bushes and uplighting - was amazing! It was far more than Nick's design sketch did justice. Separate from the amazing job Nick and his crew did, what really stood out to us was the reliability and peace of mind you get with NRC. Whenever something wasn't going quite right, or even when we decided to change something last minute, Nick just made it happen. He never seemed burdened or tried to nickel-and-dime us over the change, he just did it. He really treated our project like it was his own. When we thought we might lose a plant (we did this project in the middle of the summer), Nick assured us that he'd replace it. He also reassured us he'd do the same the following summer if something wasn't going the way it should; no questions asked. He's an absolute professional who treats his customers right. I'm telling you, you won't be disappointed.

Absolutely great! We have moved few times and every time we moved, we made sure that Nick and NRC was part of our plan for hardscape/landscape design, retaining wall, pavers driveway or as simple as for landscape ideas. Nick's energy and passion provided us with design ideas and alternatives to our original ideas. We have referred him to our friends and family who trusts him as much as we do. If we found alternatives elements that were cheaper - Nick was always honest and incorporated our choice to his design to give us a solution that we desired. We appreciate his honesty. One important aspect is that Nick was always flexible to ensure that our vision was met and his crew was flexible with design changes without costing us an arm and leg! Dealing with contractors can be a difficult task, especially when you can’t see the final product until the work is complete. I received multiple quotes for a patio, sitting wall and stairs; it was clear Nick knew what he was talking about. And others simply were just interested in work and not doing things the right way. I’m in the construction field and can’t say enough about the level of detail Nick and his crew took. It was a pleasure to work with NRC, Roberto and Nick. I’ll definitely recommend them to anyone that wants quality at a fair cost.

Due to the size of my project, Nick was able to fit me in with very short notice, going from my initial request for estimate to completed project within a week. Nick and his brothers did a phenomenal job on our backyard project and transformed our grass into a patio oasis. Nick comes with the whole package of hardscaping, landscaping and more. They did patio, stairs, pergola, landscaping and they even helped build my outdoor kitchen! His design software gives you a glimpse of what your paradise project can look like and gives you something to look forward to. The materials they use are great quality stones and can meet the needs of any style. We wanted a more modern patio and he delivered exactly what we had in mind if not better. His creativity makes it easy to come up with ideas especially when you reach an obstacle in the project. Even when we had a few items that needed to be addressed once the project was completed, Nick's team came back and fixed everything without any issues. Nick is very responsive and always answers the phone or calls back within 24 hours. You really can't have a better project manager than Nick. He is a partner in your project and invests his time. We found Nick & NRC from the Techo-Bloc website when we were looking for quotes to install a new patio with pavers. Right away, it was apparent Nick shows an energy and a passion for creating unique outdoor spaces which the other companies we had out did not. Other landscapers gave us a very basic square design without much interest for about the same unit cost while NRC exceeded our expectations with a great design (with a CAD rendering) for a two-tiered patio with a combination of large slab pavers with a circle paver inset and border that utilized other parts of our backyard we had not even thought of; plus he thought to include a pergola that adds shade and visual interest. NRC's design did stretch to the limits of our budget, but the value far exceeded the cost. Nick will definitely work with you on the design if you are working on a tight budget.
Overall we were pleased with the execution. My wife and I work in construction so we have a critical eye for quality craftsmanship. NRC's crews worked hard and did a pretty good job, and where they came up short, Nick was very quick to address the issues so we were satisfied. We did have a few issues with his suppliers getting materials delivered but Nick did his best to expedite the deliveries and always made sure to communicate the schedule as it changed. We also really appreciated that Nick was willing to work with us and not nickle and dime us as some minor changes from the design and bid were needed during installation.
In the end, we would encourage anyone looking to improve their yard to give NRC a call to see what Nick and his crew's can do.

I’d like to begin this review by saying that NRC Landscaping is not just a good hardscaping company it’s a one stop solution that makes a dream backyard a reality. Nick the founder of NRC is one of the most professional and accommodating individuals we had a chance to meet. And believe me; we dealt with some clowns while selecting a company to create our back yard oasis.
Our project was very challenging due to the terrain our house sits on as well as the taste for contemporary look we were going for. Nick came out to the site and gave us variety of ideas. Very shortly we got a rendering of what the finished project would look like. When reviewing the materials we picked Nick offered to substitute some of the materials to reduce the cost, but still maintain the look and the quality we were going for. Once the project began Nick was there all the time to supervise and address any challenges. He negotiated with vendors, pool contractors and the city officials.
The patio and retaining walls now made it through the winter and to my surprise not a single stone moved. Everything looks as if the job was finished yesterday.
I also did something I’ve never done before, and that’s refereeing Nick to someone I worked with. Needless to say my coworker still thanks me for introducing him to NRC.
I wish more companies in the contracting world would go at least half the length NRC does for their customers.

We could not have been more pleased. NRC designed and built a fantastic new back yard complete with upgraded pool, new hot tub, half court basketball, outdoor kitchen, fire bowl accents and an all season room. Work was top notch, but most of all they were transparent, very easy to work with and just good people. In a world where trusting vendors can come hard, they were all that and more. Nick and team deliver what they promise.

NRC was an absolute pleasure to work with! From the design phase to completion, we were taken care of the whole time. We had NRC install a pool, deck and patio. They had the pool in quicker than I expected and rolled right into the surrounding patio and other work. Great customer service and really good workmanship. They have great guys on their crew and really make sure things are done right with a high level of quality.

I have had many remodeling projects done in the last 20 years, both interior and exterior work. Through my experience, I realize that nobody is perfect. Nick and his crew are pretty much as close to perfect as it comes. Any construction projects will have issues/delays that are out of the contractor's control, what makes Nick and his crew stand out is the communication to their customers. We were always kept in the loop regarding our project. Weekend text messages/emails were always returned promptly. Roberto, the project manager is a true asset to the company as he is always on top of everything. Their entire crew consisting of carpenters, masons, electricians, landscapers, excavators, etc, were all professional and mindful. With that said, the attached pictures will not do justice as I am not a photographer. So far, everyone that has seen it in person... jaw drops.

We just purchased a new house and wanted to improve the layout of the backyard in order to create an outdoor space for entertaining and for the kids. We originally gravitated to simply installing a large retaining wall to manage the slope of the backyard and started contacting contractors to provide quotes and established plans for them to look at the property. I was hesitant to contact NRC as their website has many larger projects and I was concerned that I wasn't sitting on a big enough project for the company. I was wrong - he stated several times that he loves projects like mine because he can see results so quickly and still really see a distinct change. As soon as we contacted Nick at NRC, he started pulling data from the county Geographical Information System (GIS) and the real estate listing in order to better understand my situation. He told me that he could build me a retaining wall, but that wouldn't be the best use of my space and money. He immediately developed a vision and was excited to take a look at my backyard in person and do great things for my family.

While many of the other contractors focused on replacing the aging and rotten wooden ground-level deck with a stone or paver patio, Nick had a vision that included a patio with a retaining wall - which would help tame the slope behind the wall - and an area in which I could place a playset for the kids. He also identified other ways to truly make use of my backyard space as well - to include the large trees providing shade over the backyard. He clearly thought outside of the box and approached it from a "what would I do if this was my house" standpoint. He genuinely seemed excited at the prospect of working on my space and got us excited too. We signed up right away.

Throughout the build, Nick communicated effectively, explained what was happening, and was responsive to change requests and questions. His crew was courteous and did their best to not be in the way with their vehicles and equipment. At the end of each day, they made sure to clean up and put their stuff out of the way. When his crew cleared away some brush and found a huge stump, he quickly and clearly communicated the development and the cost of the stump removal. When he saw that our original plan for the playset area would be more expensive and dangerous than we originally realized, he had an alternative suggestion ready to go. Although we ended up higher than we originally budgeted, that was due to our changes and choices (if you're gonna do it at all, go all the way!), but Nick's pricing was consistent (no surprises), well-communicated, and competitive with the 1/2 dozen other contractors we called out. In fact, Nick offered a bit more for the same price.

The space is all done now and I couldn't be happier. We have more room to enjoy being outside and a playset is on the way for the kids. The whole thing just looks amazing. It's really a dream patio! Nick's addition of lighting truly kicks the whole thing up a notch and looks amazing. As he said at the outset, "I want to build you something you'll enjoy looking from inside the house, both day and night". He totally achieved that! I will wholeheartedly recommend Nick and NRC to my friends and neighbors and I look forward to working with them again in the future.

We have lived in our home almost 7 years and always had great visions for our backyard but it was overwhelming and we never could find the time to focus and get started. With encouragement from family who wanted a fun, safe space for our children to enjoy, we contacted several landscape contractors. Nick responded quickly and came out to help build our vision. He was fair, honest about our expectations, and easy to work with.
Our backyard was basically gutted and built back up. We had several trees removed, a brand new deck built with a screened/waterproof patio added below, tiered gardening area, grated our lawn and added truckloads of fresh soil, sod and grass seed, beautiful fence with several gates, customized shed, new tree lighting, and a playset for our girls. An area we can now enjoy as a family and entertain company.
We had several delays with lots of rain, this past spring was really wet, and waiting for the county to complete their inspections but Nick stayed in constant contact and kept me in the loop. Nick also wanted to make sure we did everything according to code and guarantee it’s safety, very much appreciated.
We went from a very disastrous and unusable backyard to something that we LOVE! Something that is safe, fun, beautiful, and what we will be using for years to come. In fact we are hoping to use Nick and his team for some more work in the near future.
